There is no way Goldman Sachs would be worth around $64 billion today if its clients were unhappy with it.

On the other hand, if Goldman’s clients really have had enough of the firm and the way it does business — as Smith suggested in his bombshell resignation letter — then they should start letting the firm know it by no longer choosing Goldman as their investment

The dollar slumped broadly on Friday, halting a rally that had taken it to an 11-month high against the yen and a one-month peak versus the euro as tame U.S. inflation data prompted investors to
rethink expectations of higher interest rates.

also we can use it for what called a bollinger band squeeze.
when market turned too slow and bollinger bands get close to each other then a candle closes above or below the upper or the lower bollinger band then a long position will be taken with stop below the low of this range with double target(target=2 size of SL)

it could be used in both smaller and big time frames but in GV i will use it on 5min or 15min to generate intraday trading

US equity markets dipped briefly into the red this morning thanks to a slightly disappointing preliminary March U of Michigan confidence reading, but returned quickly to unchanged. There was some concern about the U of M one-year inflation expectations, which are at 4%, their highest level since May 2011. However the February CPI data was subdued, and consumers seem to be showing some resilience to +$4.00/gal gasoline costs.

As shown in the monthly cycle directional indicator the market is under pressure when it is below the weekly cycle pivot centres at 1.3165 // 1.3187. Speculative selling pressure will increase when the market resumes its downward trending momentum and penetrates through the barriers at 1.2893 // 1.2898. The distribution profiles of the monthly cycle charts suggest that the market is going to work on 1.3138 and the distribution profile of the monthly cycle probability chart indicates that the market is pulling towards 1.2665.

charging only $250 for the room.
He told the clerk to return $50 to the three men.
The clerk pocketed $20 for himself. He gave the remaining $30 back to the three men.

Each man took back $10. Therefore, each man paid 100 - 10 = $90 to the hotel.

$90 x 3 = $270 + the clerk's $20 = $290.

Question: Where has the remaining $10 gone?//

Good question
Since Dominique Styrauss -Kahn you should be very careful about room service
It is all in the wording
Room cost 250
so each one paid 83.3 dollars
How about the 100 original?
Each got back 10 dollar coming to 93.3
Where is the missing 6.6 Dollars??

It is the MONEY THEY (!! NOT THE INNKEEPER) to the bell boy

For me, I'd be inclined to pick it up at that point on the way south again, rather than bear the neg. territory before it goes south.

It seems to me YEN Crosses are in good trends shape, however they are reaching kinda overextended condition around current levels.

I have some notional levels as reversal spots:
AUD/JPY ~ 88.50
EUR/JPY ~ 109.88
GBP/JPY ~ 132.32

I'd use these as reference points for going short the crosses - while stocks are in an eternal uptrend this 2nd thrust seems unsustainable at these levels to me..

On the other side they say "Never try to stop a freight train with your wallet" so I gotta respect the market action.

Dil ... with my gold coins sold last August (and in the meantime already bought back some) I bought a house & farmland ... so quite on track in that regard.

BUT I just do not intend to grow corn - as I hate all the corn farmers around due to the irresponsible use of roundup & Co.
So i bought a farm just above the sealevel (say 600m above) where corn is not grown anymore.
What else, besides corn, would you grow?
Does it matter at all?
I.e. I have lots of woods around me - or I could grow vegetables or whatever else ...

Any suggestions?

Italy Said to Pay Morgan Stanley $3.4 Billion
By Nicholas Dunbar and Elisa Martinuzzi - Mar 16, 2012 8:03 AM GMT+0100

When Morgan Stanley (MS) said in January it had cut its “net exposure” to Italy by $3.4 billion, it didn’t tell investors that the nation paid that entire amount to the bank to exit a bet on interest rates.

Italy, the second-most indebted nation in the European Union, paid the money to unwind derivative contracts from the 1990s that had backfired, said a person with direct knowledge of the Treasury’s payment. It was cheaper for Italy to cancel the transactions rather than to renew, said the person, who declined to be identified because the terms were private.

The cost, equal to half the amount to be raised by Italy’s sales tax increase this year, underscores the risk derivatives countries use to reduce borrowing costs and guard against swings in interest rates and currencies can sour and generate losses for taxpayers. Italy, with record debt of $2.5 trillion, has lost more than $31 billion on its derivatives at current market values, according to data compiled by the Bloomberg Brief Risk newsletter from regulatory filings.

Based on the article I mentioned in my previous post(http://peterlbrandt.com/what-do-the-gold-charts-say/), the target of the inverted H&S mentioned is close and may become closer in the coming weeks to the target based on the longer time span triangle,I kept on presenting for sometime.

People should buy gold (and if needed not on margin), because it may reach 2050...and it may happen very fast!!!

What is important is not a daily noise, but that gold is still locked in between 1650,1680.

I may give more weight to the possible deterioration of the M.E. situation over this coming weekend.

And of course the bears/bulls Friday showdown tonight:)

Greece will most likely leave the European Union by the second half of 2012, says Brendan Brown, head of economic research at Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International, who says the exit is his "central scenario." The recent Greek bailout was a "temporary fix ahead of French elections," adds Brown. "Next time Greece comes in and needs more money then Germany will probably say no, and I think Sarkozy has already prepared the ground for that by saying that Greece should never have come into the European Union in the first place," he says. The exit would be a "popular thing to achieve" for Chancellor Merkel ahead of 2013 elections, with widespread support in Germany for Greece to leave

GBPUSD put in a Bullish Engulfing candlestick pattern above falling trend line resistance-turned-support at from late October, hinting a move higher is ahead. Confirmation is needed on a break of a minor channel top set from the February 29 high, which would initially expose the 23.6% Fibonacci expansion at 1.5781. Risk/reward considerations argue against entering a trade here with resistance at such close proximity and we will remain on the sidelines for now until something more attractive presents itself.

Cabinet ministers said privately that the address "sounded like a preparatory speech for an attack".

The speech coincided with reports that Israel's Cabinet is arranged eight to six in favour of a pre-emptive strike on Iran, even without Washington's open support. It is a shift that could prove decisive in swaying Mr Netanyahu's decision on whether to defy international calls for restraint to allow time for sanctions to work.

Linking recent rocket attacks on Israel by Gaza-based militants, Mr Netanyahu said he could not tolerate a situation where terrorist groups are backed by a nuclear power.

"I hope that the whole world today understands that the terrorist organisations in Gaza – Hamas and Islamic Jihad – and also Hezbollah in Lebanon, are sheltered by the Iranian umbrella," he said. "Can you imagine what would happen if that umbrella was nuclear?"

In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room.
