agree with your assesment.

however, eyes on this chart as well as other charts would have "folks" loading up on puts. then there's the Sell-in-May aphorsim, so lot'so them are in profit.

let's see how the week plays out...options expiry for May...as it seems the hook has been set.

At the moment Futures are quivering in anticipation of a "bounce".

SPY (133.65)>>> Through some pretty good support levels. Additionally, pattern looks like a Head and Shoulders Top. Not perfectly uniform, but fits the overall pattern of a Top. Measuring objective is near 125. So, at least another 6% or so decline likely to unfold in SPY. Trend system is in bear mode and ADX turning up strongly. Above 136.50 now is needed to negate potential downside.

Best of Luck out There!

And that is good for economy: banks make money trading and customers lose money trading(as no money is created). Banks have more capital, so they can lend more. Customers have less capital, so they borrow more. Bankers get big bonuses, so they can buy luxury goods, so luxury good are sold. There must be market segmentation...
Lending/borrowing creates money. When money is created, everybody(expect Austrian school economists) is happy. Period.
Enjoy... :-))

AUD and NZD Outlooks: Eurozone politics will remain a market focus for a few more weeks, the forthcoming Greek elections extending the period of uncertainty with risk-averse implications. Today’s Australian wage costs data is minor, but the FOMC minutes and Fed member Bullard’s speech on the economy and monetary policy will be watched.

Key areas to watch: "Russia" — which until 1800 was still pocked by various Khanates; "Germany," which until the mid-19th century consisted of two dozen principalities; and "the Balkans," which lose their independence in 1453 and do not regain it until the 20th century.

If you thought Europe was fractious now, this shows that Europe was literally fractured for hundreds of years

We don't often comment on the D.O.G. Index, but the recent increase in USD purchasing power has been remarkable in the short life of this index. It suggests a loss in U.S. export competitiveness, but also a reduction in inflationary pressures.

Pravda has nothing on the Yanks. TIC data was just released today and it was dismal. Not only is the U.S. NOT attracting funds, money is actually leaving the country. The 12 months accumulated data show that annual accumulated flows into the country have halved, though obviously it seems whatever flows were seen 12 to 11 months ago have now actually been reversed. Money is NOW LEAVING the States. This lack of capital inflow explains why the U.S. economy has been so weak. With no money coming in.... the economy falls over.

And where has this been reported in the various U.S. news wires?? Er, nowhere. What are they going to do put it in small print at the bottom of some report or something??

As long as the FX market is largely 'on the margin' and essentially speculative (with trading at something like 1000 times global annual GDP it can ONLY be speculative), this type of reporting can have an impact on FX rates. That is if it is not reported we can all pretend that the USD is a safe haven and speculative accounts can be encouraged to buy USDs. It won't do much for the economy or other less speculative financial markets though. At some point though this 'strategy' will blow up. Timing is everything, but the risks aren't where we are led to believe they are.

TIC, TOC.... the bomb is ticking.
