am having 2 north cali geeks over in mid-Oct so i'll make them work for their encrypted supper ... j/k ;-)
obviosly charting and trading through the 76xx series is a pipe dream for now. The new 7600 makes me yearn but I'm trying to get the Motorola watch phone so far.
My usual strategy is to analyse the living daylights of my charts (6 time frames per cross) and formulate a set plan with disaster recovery. Then I stick to it like superglue via WAP quotes and phone trades.
re: your lack of desktop space i think you're blessed to have a 21" since I am using an ancient 15" out here. One option we could exercise would be to get a 32mb AGP card ... maybe even 128 mb AGP with a TV tuner
that way you can have more than 2 screens and nearly 42 inches of workspace plus you can plug into Bloomberg/CNBC too
i believe g-a-i-n capital and a-l-a-r-o-n fx shows promise for wireless services but no clue on their reliability or competitiveness

if you wish to do offshore - have your individual investors (if usa based) register an offshore trust and deal your offshore company to their offshore trust as a suggestion

if your investors are us based tread carefully - if not you have many options

SNP, since you're gonna move some packets loaded with sensitive information, I would recommend turning on AT THE VERY LEAST wep with a well chosen (randomly, I mean) key. If you're somewhat familiar with networking etc, you should set up transport mode ipsec encryption in your home intranet.
Google will turn up some nice tutorials on how to do that.

Thanks SNP.. sorry for the late reply.. just got in..
Placing trades from my 7650 would be a dream come true.. :) I guess charting is out of the way though.. i can't get enough info on my 21' screen, let alone a phone display... :)
So, as I understand it, the only option would be a gprs subscription + java enabled browser on the phone (i.e. opera) and checking out various sites with live applets, right?
Well, this suxxx :)
Do you have any info on anyone at least planning to develop wireless services for traders?

As a matter of fact I have networked win 98 with win 2000 pro which has more potential for disaster and it ran great. You should not have any problems with it and it is simple. LOL
