Howdo folks,
Does anyone know of a software programme or excel type spreadsheet, whereby you can input O/H/L/C data and then be able to generate a chart with technical indicators. Eg Mov Avg, MACD, Boll Bands etc.
TIA,

can i comment on my experience with systems and development. when i first started trading at banks we employed programmers and tech systems all the time. ie employ 2 guys to just trade that way at all times utilising any and all methods they wanted to use. --- they never made money at days end--- the most profitable or only profitable one was the turtle system and thats only because it traded weird markets,, on pure fx trading it finished behind. the problem is they can back test data and mould the system to the data but in real time it never seems to achieve the same results............ reason typing this is unless you are exceptionally talented its not a good use of your time- chart analysis and tech indicators and developing a network maybe more rewarding, far cheaper and keep you in the game longer

Brainstorm - I am not a programmer myself (learning at the mo) and have a similar problem - I would suggest registering with trading platforms that have help forums for programmers & users -
Metatrader, visual trader, money tec, metastock etc they should have avenues you could pursue.
stocks and commodities dot com have a good listing also.

I am sorry but I can't help you..I don't use software at all in trading. I've tried a couple which friends had and was not impressed, but that does not mean all software is bad..obviously it does enhance some people's trading results.

Once you've gone through the right sidebar menu of this website (GV) and followed all the links out, try the various trading companies advertised here. Most have tutorials and tips I find are great for beginners. If you search in your fav search engine for terms you need to study more, you'll find them. Here's a free resource center as well. I would check every now and then with Global-View's learning center...enhancement in the plans I am told.

JHB, I'm also trying to learn pivot points. Would you mind sending me your pdf? I found some good info on the CBOT but I want to learn what successful forex traders use. As I understand, there are variations. Thanks. home_craft@hotmail.com
