i just noticed no-refresh on top, but still... now there is a new post by me instead of a follow up, I hate to spam the board like this.

Subject: better forum? Reply
I'm not sure if this was ever considered or not, but why not use one of the more advanced forums which supports threads? right now I have to sort through multiple messages and find replies to my and other people's posts. The auto-refresh is also killing me because it puts me at the top of the page while i'm in the middle of a post.

Jay,

would having standards subjects to list (or choose from) help in the archive/posting section to enhance the library of postings time goes by......

GV member first does a search on a GV 'keyword' to see/review previous posts ..

also ask la mel what he thinks of the sony carbon fibre laptop he bought i/o pda - that sort of thing provides so much more functionality. on my pda i bought splash id and agendus so get more use out of it- but to be honest if i had thought or looked more closely i would have gone one of the new sony small laptops which i saw in tokyo last month

amc -----re pdas - i have a sony clie thing you better off with a small laptop - reason if you are using it to access web its slow and screen so small it sux. it has a few small features that are useful but it depends on the use you want it for. its just a function of memory, speed and processor. id start the the small laptops first then work my way down if those are slightly too big for you.

initially i thought ya were jail-baiting some of us so i didnt reply ... besides i'd hate to be the only one answering Qs

MEL and JF are right abt plasmas - they're not gonna be here for much long. Why ?
Well plasma is the 4th state of matter i.e. superheated gas (the other 3 are available in any 5th grader physics textbook) and gas like any other resource will burn out. The life of conventional plasma TVs is estimated @ 25k-35k hours

This is where DLP and LCDs come in - both offer excellent alternatives for the same level of performance, not to mention a lifespan thats twice as much as plasma @ 65k-75k hours.

The thinnest DLPs are only 7" thick (LCD/Plasma is about 4") and provide the same size/quality of image for abt 1/2 to 2/3 rds the cost depending on how good you are @ finding a bargain

if/when ya buy a DLP make sure ya hook it up to a battery-backup - Why ? The bulb that powers the proj gets hot and would burn out easily if it is not cooled by a cooling fan. If/when the power goes off, you'll want the fan to stay on and cool off the bulb even after you've shut off the telly

simon....the dwinding number of interbank market makers over time may contribute to liquidity concerns at times.....(Bank mergers).

JP Morgan Chase swallowed up some great FX names over the years

Manny Hanny
Chemical
Morgan

just to name a few.....

online retail growth and the past few years have added a new tier of players, but not within the interbank ranks.

Simon.....during the course of a day there can be rumors of all sorts just in the political world...leaders have heart attacks, strokes, accidents, coups, scandals.....terrorists being caught, killed, or launching an attack....

One has to 'analzye first the validity of the rumor and then make a decision of its impact.....This is tough to put into words.

Gaps occur because the 'surprise' factor of such an event and the anticipated domino effect.....

The shock and Awe is the reason for the gap...not any technical reason.

Forex Forum

The Global-View Forex Forum is the hub for currency trading on the web. Founded in 1996, it was the original forex forum and is still the place where forex traders around the globe come 24/7 looking for currency trading ideas, breaking forex news, fx trading rumors, fx flows and more. This is where you can find a full suite of forex trading tools, including a complete fx database, forex chart points, live currency rates, and live fx charts. In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.

FX Trading

Global-View also offers a full fx trading chart gallery that includes fx pairs, such as the EURUSD, commodities, stocks and bonds. In a fx trading world where markets are integrated, the chart gallery is a valuable trading tool. Look for updates on the Forex Forum when the chart gallery is updated.

Forex Blog

Global-View.com also offers a forex blog, where articles of interest for currency trading are posted throughout the day. The forex blog articles come from outside sources, including forex brokers research as well as from the professionals at Global-View.com. This forex blog includes the Daily Forex View, Market Chatter and technical forex blog updates. In additional to its real time forex forum, there are also Member Forums available for more in depth forex trading discussions.
