(Dow Jones via eFXnews) EUR/USD - to consolidate heading into weekend EU summit - Sunday's meeting was originally thought to be the time when officials would unveil a sweeping plan to stabilize euro-zone debt crisis, but now a comprehensive plan may not be agreed on until next week as big Franco-German differences remain over how to deploy the EUR440 billion EFSF bailout fund. EUR/USD supported by euro-zone leaders' pledge that rescue plan is in the pipeline and will be approved by EU leaders by Wednesday at the latest. But EUR/USD gains limited by lingering doubts that Europe's leaders can come to a timely agreement on a plan; possibility that private-sector bondholders will bear 50% loss on their bonds in new Greek debt-restructuring plan; euro-zone economic growth slowdown - euro-zone FCCI flash consumer confidence indicator fell to minus 19.9 this month from minus 19.1 in September; positions adjustment before weekend.
Data focus: 0740 GMT ECB President Trichet speech, 0800 GMT German October Ifo business climate index.
