- The markets are looking for direction in the majors. GBP weaker following softer than expected U.K. inflation data, which could provide the BOE with a window for additional easing.
- The BOE remains on the defensive following its timid response to the Nothern Rock problems.
- The commodity currencies are mixed. The RBA policy meeting minutes were hawkish. Left the door open for a February rate hike.
- Equity markets are seen opening better. Fixed income prices are mixed.
