GVI Market Snapshot-- Far East Open
- The USD is closing steady in N.Y. from late Wednesday levels. Monthend and anticipation of the monthly employment report on Friday kept many on the sidelines.
- After opening weaker, U.S. share markets are putting in a strong close. European bourses ended mixed. Bond prices are higher.
- Concerns about the credit worthiness of the monoline bond insurers faded as the session wore on and gave shares a boost.
- The commodity currencies (AUD and NZD) are firmer. The CAD is weak. Gold and oil prices are weaker.
