FX Thoughts for the day : 11-May-2009 - 1204 GMT
USD-CHF @ 1.1098/99...Consolidative/ Corrective
R: 1.1171 / 1.1229 / 1.1279
S: 1.0981 / 1.0946-30
Dollar-Swiss has started to rise after being very ranged through the day. The Supported at 1.0910 mentioned earlierhas not been tested during the day. Having entered into the bearish phase after breaking below 1.1165, the pair looks likely to fall further after some consolidation/ correction today/ tomorrow. Sell on rallies may be ideal here.
At the moment, we do not have too many Supports available beyond 1.0930. Let's see till when does this Support hold. But the Support at 1.0981 is also an important one being the 61.8% retracement of the rise from 1.0371 (29-Dec-08) to 1.1968 (12-Mar-09). GBP-USD @ 1.5102/05...Dips during the day
R: 1.5187 / 1.5273-1.5300 / 1.5383
S: 1.5033 / 1.4895 / 1.4878
Cable has dipped as it rests on the Support of the 8-DMA at 1.5041. The trendline Resistance at 1.53 continued to hold good. It is likely to be re-attempted to be breached over the next few sessions. A give-in might then test 1.55 pretty quickly. Crude, too, has dipped a bit which has driven the pair lower during the day. For now, the pair looks good to traverse higher after a brief correction after the strong surge seen over the last few days. Till the 8-DMA holds, bullishness is intact.
The target of 1.55 over the week continues to be intact. To see the chart of Cable, click on: http://www.kshitij.com/graphgallery/gbpcandle.shtml#candle
AUD-USD @ 0.7618/22...Buy dips
R: 0.7661 / 0.7741 / 0.7961
S: 0.7571 / 0.7500-7464
Aussie has dipped during the day after testing the 13-month MA Resistance at 1.7681 on Friday. It dipped below the range of 0.7650-0.7750 mentioned during the day. It is likely to find some Support at 0.7600 and next at 0.7533. Till the pair stays above 0.75, there are good chances that the bullish run is not over yet and that moves towards 0.78 and 0.80 are quite possible. Buying on dips towards 0.75 is likely to give handsome gains. However, we do not foresee a huge fall below 0.7585 for the US session and early Asian session tomorrow.
