Market Focal Points: Summer vacations have kept market volumes light as traders have taken profits ahead of the release of US Fed minutes later this week and the Kansas City Fed's Jackson Hole symposium this weekend. Miners are leading the market broadly lower after Glencore preannounced a $5-7B write down ahead of its earnings tomorrow. India and Indonesian markets continue to fall on currency concerns. The INR hits all-time lows against USD with the S&P BSE Bankex falling 9% over the last two days, the largest drop since Jan 2009. The Jakarta Composite index lost 5.6% sending it into negative territory on the year. Peripheral banks are leaders to the upside even after the Bank of Spain reported June Spain bank's bad loan ratio at 11.6%, a record high.

- PIMCO exec: AUD currency might fall further to USD$0.80 in next 12 months and that the RBA could cut rates by an additional 50bps to 2.00%

Currencies/Fixed Income:
- A quiet economic calendar in Europe left the major pairs little changed but the focus remained on potential Fed tapering and the USD inability to capitalize on rising interest rates

- The EUR/USD closing pattern continued to trade within a 2 big figure range of 1.32-1.34 the past two weeks. Some dealers noted that the USD might benefit from the upcoming FOMC minutes this week.
- Trade-weight Sterling at 7-month high; GBP/USD at 2-month high near 1.5670
- Emerging market currencies remained under pressure. The Indian Rupee continued to hit fresh record lows despite measures taken by the RBI in recent weeks. The Indonesia currency (rupiah) tested the 10,500 level for 4-year lows

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.

FX Trading

Global-View also offers a full fx trading chart gallery that includes fx pairs, such as the EURUSD, commodities, stocks and bonds. In a fx trading world where markets are integrated, the chart gallery is a valuable trading tool. Look for updates on the Forex Forum when the chart gallery is updated.

Forex Blog also offers a forex blog, where articles of interest for currency trading are posted throughout the day. The forex blog articles come from outside sources, including forex brokers research as well as from the professionals at This forex blog includes the Daily Forex View, Market Chatter and technical forex blog updates.
