- US equity indices are sustaining modest gains this morning in the wake of the July trade data, even as the Syria resolution grinds its way across Capitol Hill. As of writing the DJIA is up 0.59%, the S&P500 has gained 0.57% and the Nasdaq is up 0.81%.

- The July US trade deficit widened slightly more than expected as exports dipped, however the better imports pointed to some firming in underlying domestic demand. Exports of petroleum products hit a record high. EUR/USD was more or less flat through the European session and into New York trading, although it has jumped to test 1.3200 in the last hour or so.

- The ECB's Draghi has struggled to convince markets that he's serious about the forward guidance ("ECB interest rates to remain at present or lower levels for an extended period of time") he unveiled two months. At tomorrow's rate decision there is little chance the ECB will touch its main policy rate, but the press conference will give super Mario another chance to hammer away at the guidance and celebrate the minor improvements seen in the euro zone economic data.

- Shares of both Micron and SanDisk are trading sharply higher this morning on unconfirmed press reports that a factory of major NAND competitor Hynix Semi was on fire. Markets are still awaiting an update on the fire. In addition, Sterne Agee said the fire could move prices in both NAND and DRAM markets. MU is up 8% and SNDK is up 4.4%.

- Markets are getting all fired up about Apples upcoming iPhone reveal, scheduled for September 10th. Overnight Chinese press sources reported that has invited journalists to an event in Beijing on Sept 11th and analysts suspect that the event will be to unveil the long-awaited launch of the iPhone on the massive China Mobile network. Recall that the iPhone is already sold by the number two and three mobile operators in China, with dominant player China Mobile the sole holdout. Note also that Samsung is unveiling its smart watch product in New York today.

- August auto sales rose by double digits, with both Ford and GM topping year-ago levels. Toyota's sales gain of +23% y/y led the pack, followed closely by Nissan's 22% y/y gain. Both Ford and GM said their 2013 SAAR outlook was now over 16M units. Shares of GM and Ford are both up 3% a piece.

- Shares of technology integrator SAIC are down nearly 6% this morning after the firm missed consensus expectations in its Q2 report and slashed FY14 guidance. Truck manufacturer Navistar is down 4% after widely missing estimates in its Q3 and announcing further job cuts and cost reductions.

- Battered shares of JC Penny are up 6% after Hayman Capital (Kyle Bass) and Glenview Capital disclosed new stakes in the firm yesterday.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.

FX Trading

Global-View also offers a full fx trading chart gallery that includes fx pairs, such as the EURUSD, commodities, stocks and bonds. In a fx trading world where markets are integrated, the chart gallery is a valuable trading tool. Look for updates on the Forex Forum when the chart gallery is updated.

Forex Blog also offers a forex blog, where articles of interest for currency trading are posted throughout the day.
