- US equities are diving back towards unchanged this morning after a solid start. Traders are ascribing the rollover to Netflix rolling over, which briefly took the Nasdaq into the red and pulled equities down across the board. As of writing, the DJIA and the S&P500 are up 0.35% each, while the Nasdaq is flat.

- Today is jobs Tuesday as the Labor Department plays catch-up after the government shutdown. The September non-farm payrolls were +148K, well below expectations, while the August NFPs were revised higher from +169K to +193K. Unemployment fell to 7.2%, the lowest level since November 2008. Traders are clearly discounting the data, waiting instead for the October report, which will include the full impact of the US fall fiscal crisis. In the wake of the jobs numbers, EUR/USD pushed out above 1.3700 to make fresh 2013 highs.

- Shares of Netflix are back to unchanged, giving up its post-market 10% gain after the open this morning. The firm's earnings in Q3 and its guidance for Q4 widely topped expectations. It added nearly 1.3M new US subscribers, near the top of its prior guidance, pushing its total US subscriber base higher than HBO's. CEO Hastings aired his discomfort with the huge run-up in the shares over the last year (440% in the last 12 months), warning that "momentum investors" are "driving the price more than we like."

- Chipmaker Texas Instruments had solid results in its Q3 numbers, however the firm's guidance range for Q4 lagged estimates. Executives said the lower guidance reflects normal seasonality, including the decline in demand from auto makers at the end of the year. TXN is down 2.5%. VMWare gained 8% after the close on very good Q3 performance and sustained FY guidance, however VMW is only up 4% as of writing as shares have lost ground in cash trading.

- Freeport is up 3% after crushing consensus expectations, well off its highs. Delta is sustaining altitude, up 5% after beating top- and bottom-line expectations. Travelers gained 1.5% after crushing estimates on the bottom line but has given up gains. DuPont had a solid quarterly report and reaffirmed its FY13 guidance, with sales across businesses and geographies showing solid gains. Shares of DD are up barely 0.5%.
