Daily Risk On/Off Heat Map
Risk-off trades everywhere after a Malaysian passenger airliner went down in Ukraine en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam. Verified details are yet to be determined. Expect cautious trade into the weekend, absent unexpected developments
- On Friday, Canadian CPI and the preliminary July University of Michigan Survey are due.
- Eurozone final June HICP (CPI) data were unrevised from their flash estimates and thus should have no impact on the current course of ECB policy. Thursday saw a number of key U.S. data releases. The June Housing Starts and Permits data were unexpectedly weak.
- On the other hand, weekly jobless Claims fell modestly. Also the Philly Fed Index saw an outsized gain and tended to support the unexpected surge in th Empire PMI released earlier this week
