Current Market Conditions:
Early in Europe markets are not sure what to make of developments in Ukraine today. Traders should be taking a cautious posture into the weekend. Markets are.in a mixed risk posture. The EURUSD is below 1.3400 and steady.
- Yields in prime Eurozone fixed income markets are mostly lower. The 10-yr bund is 1.00% -2 bp. The 10-yr 1.00% line remains an obvious benchmark. Peripheral bond yields are mostly lower.
- The U.K.10-yr gilt yield is 2.42% -1bp. The +25bp BOE rate hike has been pushed a quarter later to 1Q15.
- U.S.10-yr yield is 2.40%, -1bp. The psychological pivot remains 2.50%?
- Far East equities closed higher. Bourses in Europe are up. U.S. share futures are up.
The heat map color scheme of interest rates reflects yields. This aligns all the colors in the chart to reflect risk-on (green) and risk-off(red).
HIGH IMPACT NEWS: US- Empire PMI, PPI, Ind Prod, Univ of Mich, COT
- Today sees, U.S. Industrial Production figures and the preliminary University of Michigan Survey.
- Revisions to 2Q14 U.K. GDP .were minor with the YY reading moved up slightly. These data were solid. GBPUSD is about steady on the day.
