Weekly Event Risk Agenda
Markets are in a Risk-On mentality with the European recovery gaining steam. The Macron Presidency was a vote for political stability in the EU. The average French citizen had a lot more to lose from leaving the EU than the average Brit.
For the same reason, Italy should opt to stay in the EU. U.S. equities should continue to benefit from a cautious Fed for a lng time to come. A full "normalization" of policy is still a long way away.
- EVENT RISK: Thursday-- 08:30 GMT GB- Output and Trade. The GBP is always highly sensitive to any data that can change the macro view on the economy outlook.
EVENT RISK: Thursday-- 11:00 GMT GB- BOE policy Decision. No rate changes are expected. The focus will be on the policy hawks.
- EVENT RISK: Friday-- 12:30 US- Retail Sales and CPI. Markets can be highly sensitive to these data, given the dependence on the consumer and the Fed targeting of inflation.
