Weekly Event Risk Agenda
Markets traded in a mixed risk mentality Wednesday as the yield on the 10-yr note pivoted the psychological 2.40% line. We think one impetus for higher bond yields has been an unwinding of French Presidential vote hedges. The focus now is turning to the June 17 Fed Meeting where a rate hike is widely expected.
- EVENT RISK: Thursday-- 08:30 GMT GB- Output and Trade. The GBP is always highly sensitive to any data that can change the macro view on the economy outlook.
EVENT RISK: Thursday-- 11:00 GMT GB- BOE policy Decision. No rate changes are expected. The focus will be on the policy hawks.
- EVENT RISK: Friday-- 12:30 US- Retail Sales and CPI. Markets can be highly sensitive to these data, given the dependence on the consumer and the Fed targeting of inflation.
