GVI Market Snapshot-- Europe Mid-Session
- Today is a holiday for Canada and a partial holiday for the U.S. (equities are open).
- Plenty of sub-prime chatter.
- Asian equities (see below were hit hard again. Europe is mixed. Mixed outlook for the U.S. Treasuries ar closed today.
- Its an active session today. There has been a major unwind of JPY carry trades (repatiations?). European currencies are down sharply vs. the USD. The USD/JPY is lower.
- The commodity currencies have been slammed on the carry trade unwind. Gold and oil are weaker.
