Well friends....If not for an obscenely down Goose long, I'd have had a pretty decent week for not taking very many trades & being distracted by other business interests.....

But you beast fans.....as it sits now, we'll start Sunday night @ the upper trend line resistance on the little micro channel down from 1.6309....with a better hourly sell scenario than we had going into Friday trading, but, take notice that the Hourly MACD trend has started a move back up, and RSI as well. So price may fall lower, just keep in mind the techs are in the very infancy of diverging again....could take days to a week to see the price catch up with it though.

Have a good weekend...Won't win every battle, but we can't make $$$ if we won't engage in the fight;-)

P.S> anyone willing to sell me some USD/CAD for 1.4093 bid under the table....? LOL

Another USD positive would be the capture of Saddam and the chase is
closing in with CNN reporting heavy fire in Tikrit. There are further reports
that US military are concentrating on a narrow strip of land from the Tigris
River to the Syrian border between Mosul and Tikrit. Reports say that he is
'skulking in the grubby farmhouses' around Tikrit.
News of a capture on the weekend would give the USD fresh support into Asian
dealings. reuters

For some inexplicable reason
Our government stats(all of them) are seasonally adjusted
from year to year
They do not include individuals who have totally given up looking for a job
There is another outside government firm that tallies up the REAL rate of unemployment
There figure comes in close to 11 pct
Incredible isnt it

CAD may suffer a double hit if the Fed cuts rates 1/4 (faced with two months of declining employment reports since last cut and a short term fixed income market that has been under pressure) - BoC Dodge under pressure because of small cut that merely undid Spring hike - so a 1/2 point cut is likely which narrows the advantage yield // a sluggish US economy affects CAD more than other regions (esp auto, lumber and energy)

that huge spike up and then the subsequent sell-off in euro has me scratching my head. i think the initial look at the jobs was the reason for the spike. the sell-off was probably a close look at the unemployment. with 6.2% i think it merely "corrected" and overly negative june. all-in-all i think the data was poor. however, jobs/unemployment are lagging indicators. yesterdays news was much better.

we should see some interesting tading today. i am favoring a small sell-off in the dollar from these levels although i am flat right now.

The price moving (if not holding over 30-60sec) is faster than the response of computer system (data transmission rate), your order may not be filled and it is called a slippage. Sometimes, you may find some famous In'tl dealers are in tackling less than 3 sec slippage.

Growth perspective in the USA were grim...and not because Europe had HIGH growth and HIGH perspectives for the future..Now with the interests differential not as attractive as it was a few months ago...Euro is going to get dumped across the board..
With even the slightest chance of recovery for the U.S the money is going to FLOW back RAPIDLY into the USA..No one wants to be the last one in a Bull market..

Mkt Talk: US data expected to be strong today We hear that a European real money fund's regression model is predicting a 55.8 headline ISM reading today, with a potential range of 54.1-57.5. This is way above the consensus forecast for 51.0, though expectations have been ratcheted higher after yesterday's Chicago PMI reading (which backed up firm NY & Philly Fed data). This fits with talk of real money interest buying dollars today

leading German bank reportedly sold between 150 and 250 mln on the break of
1.1200. The order has sliced through a thin London market and taken the EUR down
to 1.1160. There is a growing feeling among dealers spoken to that the EUR is
heading for levels around 1.0500-1.0800 near term as the US economy leads the
global recovery and Europe lags some distance behind. European real money
accounts have been big sellers of EUR/USD this week and the early Friday push is
being blamed on the same accounts. US hedge funds have reportedly been leading
the run through stop orders and there is talk of sizeable stops under 1.1150 and
1.1120. -

steady ahead of expiry, Non-Farms permitting. A barrage of stops are tipped
below starting at 0.6425, which could be a target for momentum types if the US
releases are as positive as yesterday.
On the local news front, Rio Tinto, one of Australia's biggest exporters,
saw H1 earnings slump 9% to AUD 983 million. The strength of the Australian
dollar was blamed for the disappointing results. Meanwhile, Qantas are concerned
that after the signing of the Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement earlier
in the week Singapore Airlines could break into the lucrative Australia-US
route. The Australian airline has barely recovered from the impact of SARS and
the Iraq conflict.
Technically, daily studies are fixed lower and targets for next week are
0.6440 (July 18 daily low), 0.6430 (May 30 spike low) and 0.6385 (50% of
0.5925/0.6845 move). Initial (hourly) resistance comes in at 0.6495 and intraday

LDN Mkt Talk: Real money EUR stops rumored from 1.1175, though similar talk in the last EUR downmove to 1.1110 lows earlier this month proved overblown. Meanwhile, bids are said to be lined up all the way down to those previous lows, and more significant sell stops below. USD bulls may have lost some enthusiasm along with stocks, which went wobbly into the US close in the face of surging bond yields.

Back around 1970 I had a 100,000 Mark German note dated 1923. I was a coin collector back then as a kid. I took it to the bank and basically it was worthless because the currency had defaulted and it took wheel barrels of Marks to buy a loaf of bread or at least that is what the bank told me. Not sure when the currency defaulted though. You might try a bank.

Good morning to all! Anyone taking longs now for the goose?

GEP, for two consecutive times, my positions for USD/JPY and CAD were right and according to trend but the market would take them out first (stop loss) before it goes back to its true trend. For example, I had bought 1.3866 (breakout of 1.3860 with stop 1.3830) but after breaking it, it slid down to 1.3809 again! Yesterday, I had Yen 120.13 and 120.02 with stop 119.70. The same scenario happened and the low registered was 119.70, exactly my stop loss. I guess my timing was terrible.

Trading idea: Buy Euro at 112.15 place a tight stop loss (1.1190 or as you think is good for you. You may take risk not more than 1.1175) as we are trading against the trend.

Target 1.1250/60 watch at 1.1240 if can break then to 1.1260. If one looks on the hourly chart practically no Res. Up to 1.1330/40 so for the hard balled traders one may try to stay to that Ret.

USD/JPY made it to 120.60 in Asian trading. but has been lower since then. But support may be found at or above 119.80, and the rally would resume further thereafter. The next target is the 121.20 top, and focus should shift to 122.00 next time around.

Thank you.

usd/jpy support is 119.70 but I think it wont reach that level anymore. Today should break 121.

I think we should all be a little cautious to buy more $ today...there could be large retracements before the next move down...ie end of the week/month, big $ buying all this week already...just a thought

There is talk of large option maturities Tokyo cut between 0.6480/90
that should keep the AUD/USD in a 0.6470/0.6510 range until they mature. Traders
say that leveraged an model funds sold large amounts of AUD against a number of
currencies in the past 24 hours and it is uncertain whether or not they are done
yet.

The Global-View Forex Forum is the hub for currency trading on the web. Founded in 1996, it was the original forex forum and is still the place where forex traders around the globe come 24/7 looking for currency trading ideas, breaking forex news, fx trading rumors, fx flows and more. This is where you can find a full suite of forex trading tools, including a complete fx database, forex chart points, live currency rates, and live fx charts. In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.

FX Trading

Global-View also offers a full fx trading chart gallery that includes fx pairs, such as the EURUSD, commodities, stocks and bonds. In a fx trading world where markets are integrated, the chart gallery is a valuable trading tool. Look for updates on the Forex Forum when the chart gallery is updated.

Forex Blog

Global-View.com also offers a forex blog, where articles of interest for currency trading are posted throughout the day. The forex blog articles come from outside sources, including forex brokers research as well as from the professionals at Global-View.com. This forex blog includes the Daily Forex View, Market Chatter and technical forex blog updates.
