Also need to note is bc mentioned before.
In history, we all remember very well what has happened in 1995.
The 100 line was "thought" to be well guarded.
However, once it's broken, it generated the wave 5 and carry all the deadbodies to 79. I just need to keep this pain in my mind as well. Pictures look similar here.

Well LM imo, ws up today on the back of eur/$ weakness..hugging the upper bollinger on the dailies, could continue it's rise for another 100 pips or so, depending on what eur/$ does..don't think I'd jump in it now tho, rather wait to see if it eases a bit 1st, if not, wait for the next round I'd think..again, for me on gbp/chf, i always watch eur for clues..

Agreed. This was a tough fight and I'm not up for much more so have fun guys/gals, I'm outta here w/ (EUR/USD +140 ),(GBP/USD +180) for +320 pips. I think there's more to come but maybe not this round. Kinda disgusted as I cutout on USD/CAD too soon. (1.2880-1.2780= +100) Now look at it, missed some of the party train because I got caught up in the Europeans. I did however catch the gap fill on USD/CHF(1.2269), thats weird I dont see it on the charts anymore. Anyway, was able to get long @ 1.2308 & 1.2355 for ride up to 1.2400. Dumped both for no other reason than fatigue. (USD/CHF +92 +45= + 137)
Total operations for the week= +557 pips Starting weekend early. GT, Im sure you dont need luck.

SNP,
FWIW I went long Bunds since 5 Jan, didnt traded 10 Y just because of dollar weakness (obviously I could hedge but didnt want margin problems). Now Im thinking of buying some. The pattern is very interesting, fedspeacking is adding fuel and Jap intervention will help too.
On the matter (mortgage buying) theres a very nice article on briefing.com . "The new levels on yields floating in the ether that will attract the mortgage players run from 3.5% to (the very nearby) 3.95%, where they will be forced into the market. According to Bloomberg, the 3.7% to 3.8% area would lead to potential refinancing of $379 bln in 6% mortgages."

For aussie enthusiasts,
Keep an eye onthe Aud/JPy. Lats weeks low of 81.10 is all important. A breach of this sets up an outside reversal and highlights the risk of heavy Long term liquidation. Not to put to fine a point on it but aussie has a reputation for "up the stairs and down the lift well". It hasn't gained that without some pretty hairy moves over the years.

CK banks want a variety of people.
As I was told long ago (repeatedly by every boss actually-LOL) we're glad to have you but we are just as glad there aren't two of you working here. When I started people hired gizzillion different types (I remember BT hiring chess players and sportsman for a while). I won't tell you my background but it's as far away from this as you could imagine. An ACA should not be an impediment at all- I'm sure National Australia Bank wished theyed hired a few more with an accounting background over the past few days -LOL
As Irish say persistance and some possible face time to meet some one is the main break. If you can get someone to spend (or waste as I'm afraid he'll see it) to have a coffee or to give you and idea is the best way forward. Dealing rooms mainly want to know if the guy can interact, stand up for himself but also doesn't have the ego that will close the place down. Everyone learns on the job as the twenty year veterans on GVI will attest to. The thing about trading is it more art than science. Economics is more of an explanation than a reason.
cheers , coffee calls

shorting EURUSD spikes till 1.2765 didn't work (sonofabeatrice !)
shorting GBPUSD breaking below 1.8340 & 1.8269 has exceeded target of 1.8240 :-)
selling EURJPY within 134.50-134.80 averaging 3 quarts so far
buying USDCHF S/T reversal from 1.23 to 1.2340-75 zone averaged 40-50 bps
buying AUDUSD ahead of 0.7722-45 brought in a couple of quarters ahead of NYC but flows look reversing now
EURGBP still looks enroute to sub-0.68 thanks to a slightly accelerated downtrend within larger macro lines
GBPJPY went through 194.20 level like a knife through butter - what was i thinking ! LoL
selling GBPCHF below 2.2628 is starting to work out but unsure since price used 2.26 to launch way higher than expected
selling EURCHF below 1.5631 closed @ entry since price launched higher from 1.5580 instead of closing below ...

With eurusd showing an interest in 1.25 handle, next test of 1.2385 in usdchf may break through (all imo).
Eurchf strength indicates that there is more upside potential in usdchf.

A weekly close below 1.2559 means catastrophy for heavy longs for the next few weeks. The long term trader should sideline and watch for the friday close. Usually the market is not too kind to give us a weekly Key Reversal, but because this threat is already on the Menu, it worth watching it.

FX UPDATE 15/01
Good morning,
***EUR***
EUR/USD (Currently 1.2660), 40 pips lower than on yesterday opening. The pair broke through first support at 1,2700 on a related US sell order that triggered stops down to 1,2650. Some much better US trade balance for November sent the pair briefly below 1,2630 before a whipsaw move back up to 1,2730-35. For today, we believe 1,2620 should provide enough support for a rebound to 1,2730 and 1,2800. Next support zone stands at 1,2540. We still believe we have not seen the end of the uptrend yet, some technical pullback is much wellcome for consolidation purposes. Yesterday's US trade data should encourage the US government to keep on favouring a USD depreciation, so we do not expect Mr Snow to support the idea of a joined FX intervention to stabilize the USD on the next G7. Long term target still is around 1,3500.
Data out today:
Ger GDP Dec expected -0,1% 08.00 GMT
Euro zone GDP Q3 expected 0.4% 11.00 GMT
US Consumer Price Index Dec expected 0.2% 13.30 GMT
US CPI ex food/energy Dec expected 0.1% 13.30 GMT
US advanced retail sales Dec expected 0.4% 13.30 GMT
US initial jobless claims expected 350K 13.30 GMT
Gold around 418,50 , with WTI February at 34,59.
***JPY***
Usd/Jpy (currently 106,20), same situation as yesterday, the market is currently trapped inbetween selling pressure and fear of another round of BOJ intervention at 106,00-10. Because of this new situation, we have now turned neutral on the JPY market and wait for further developments to determine our next strategy.EUR/JPY (134,50) following EUR/USD price action. Important support zone around 133.50 with resistance at 136,50..
***GBP***
Cable (currently 1.8300) Today we see a test of critical support zone at 1,8270.
EUR/GBP (0.6920), rebounded from 0,6890 but finding it hard to push through 0.6930. We are looking to sell rallies and expect 0,6810 for the coming trading sessions.
Have a nice day,
Olivier

I only look from the chart emotion model.
My corelation stock with gold give me information, stock players in the climax buying emotion (wall street) and then they look cheap price in gold at 412.70 and they will buy gold so big.
Because of this corelation.... I think safety position for forex is buy Eur/usd ; gbp/usd; Aussie and avoid usd/jpy. I think BOJ will use eur/jpy and gbp/jpy market to keep usd/jpy.
I think today corection for eur/usd and gbp/usd have be finished. Gold will give big energy for up to eur/usd and gbp/usd. Seen leader is Aussie to get 0.8269 as the top (minor?/major?).
Nikkei and Hang Seng have be started since several days ago for down so far... and Dow Jones is on the buying climax..yesterday.
That's my conclusion of thinking.

1.2690 was a significant support level from one of the trading advisories. So coming back and breaking it the other way would be very difficult. Don't you think?

I've still alot to learn. My indicators still need some fine tuning during days of major market announcements are made.
Im off to bed to dream about the best two Aussie exports Elle McPherson & Fosters.

Dublin CK Hi, its too hot at the moment here but we have had a few summer storms and rain . Aussie should correct just under the figure where I will be buying if seen still looking for a bit deeper correction in the Euro with a bit of Luck.
Employment data just out a bit better than expected but the aussie rallies a little to 50 and then came back, you have to remember Xmas hiring is in that number
Australian Dec Employment +29,600 but part-time work rose 13,500 many possible casual work over xmas period.

dublin, weather is great hot and sunny in melbourne, the correction has already taken place and more has yet to be revealed, i am focusing on the momentum and anticipate more downside, and the rise of the USD, then switch for the next move up on EUR GBP AUD, but the outcome will be a little while just yet, factors are pointing towards the end of cycle month of jan to early feb... hpe this helps all is in the charts and how you interept them and so on .....
