CAIRO AG 23:27 GMT - EUR/AUD : Those numbers are arrived from my 3-month projection. Usually I don't round up the number. It is beacuse I am an old man and will forget where I find those numbers. There are too many cycles in my system and my computer will have a hard time to locate it if I don't put down the right number. Anyway I don't have detailed analysis on EUR/AUD at this moment.

I am expecting CHF to be bought across the board before weekend. EUR/CHF and GBP/CHF will probably be biggest movers because 1.2630 on USD/CHF is TOUGH. Watch for false breaks and don't carry real wide stops because if price action breaks CCY out of range it may take some time for it to come back. Euro is a mess. In Asia look for jpy pairs to move the most

My view says being short eur-gbp is a good position over time....if the BOE raises rates again you win....but it has bounced off my last target area .6550 for now and think it should bounce around between .6550-.6650/.6700 max roughly for a while. BUT..it did break the long term trend line supports on my weekly charts so I am looking for .6000 this year to print.

Only problem I see is the Iraq situation is in play again and that has been causing the market to get jittery and buy back the euro vs the $$$ and Sterling I think, so I have been flat since helll broke loose again.

It is an expensive pair to get wrong.....be careful.

an impressive trade to me is 150-200 pips because I long, like for days. You guys make more than that per unit of time because you short and scalp pips constantly, which is good. My 58 pips took over a week, hence non impressive and with missing some 200 pips in the meantime bacause of hesitency (greed) in not taking action. Newbies...learn from this newbie.

Just back from this seasons last hockey game -oh my, oldtimer
sports are about as tearing as the markets. Anyway, fwiw,
EUR/USD is countering some resistance at 1,22ish, as that is
the upper bollinger level on 4hourlies at the moment. It may
need to unwind some so I sold part of my longs here, but basi-
cally we have a good looking bottom in place (any innuendo
is unintentional), so there is still room for higher levels.

This probably all around by now as it was on an SMS while I
was playing, but Dick Medley says Canada will cut on the 13th
this month.

Basically the dollar should remain soft in the run-up to the
Easter holidays, on Iraq and other terror fears. I will look to
take profits as markets close before Easter as I expect a profit
taking run directly after if no major events occur.

IMHO

The crowds remembers well 1.1930-1.2000 as a previous resistance thus it will be a major support for now..when it s broken the downside trend will accelerate furiously (as bulls get less cocky)..

One thing to remember about hedging via taking equal opposing positions is your interest payments on that position. This is fine if you are on the right side of the interest equation but you may get caught holding this hedged position for years if the market does not come back to you and interest rates are variable. However it can be a useful tactic to lock in profits for the short term.

If thats not more or less the same thing let me know but I believe it is from a profit/loss point of view. And BTW the MACD on monthly USD/CHF is crossing over this month to the upside, EUR/USD lagging behind but it's closing up. I'm not trading on it but worth keeping in mind I think.

Alas, the scrooge types didin't fill me and my dream became a nightmare.......

So now it's trying to get short usd/chf on a ncie pull back (unlikely) or decent r/r play to buy usdyen around 105.00-10 with tight stop just belwo the figure. I have done it a few times today since those suspicious Japanese nams back around 105 but overall usd/yen is heavy so you need to be nibble when doing this contra play...Best trade in usdyen is to get short ahead of 106.00-10 (missed another sell overnight at 106.10 as i slept) since it looks like the same old sellers from the 106.00-30 area has chosen that top once again after the blood up to 107.20...gl

enter hedge short from 107.00

As I posted here yesterday EUR/$ hit one of my long term targets at 1.1980 and this may be enough to contain the lows of the current big correction off 1.29. Leaving the big picture aside for a while, EUR/$ held twice my model basis level 1.2040-45, yesterday on the correction and again early today also on the new correction. This is adding to the bullish EUR picture as far as I am concerned and keeps my tactics of buying on dips still valid. Short term there are some moderate hurdles such as the zone 1.2200-20, 1.2275 and 1.2320-30 on the upside but an upward move later this month towards 1.25 has a good probability in my opinion.

IF it was indicating the USD was getting stronger then in THEORY USD/CHF would long to as long as Eur/chf was not shorting puliing it down at the same time. Does that make sense???

IOM Stan,
I actually wrote quite a long message w.r.t your earlier question, but it somehow didn't go through, I will thus sum up the same:
Euro will be burdened by the oncomming 'weaker' economies -- no offence--, and as a result (long term)1 to 3 yrs, will thus suffer. The only strength in the euro currently is as a result of this being a safer currency, for many to store their wealth both due to the ongoing worldwide probleim as well as individual beliefs. Once this is hopefully over, we should see a net surge of funds/ investments out towards the more productive economies, thus weakening the euro to such a time that the newer members can show drastic improvements from the point there are at now... (this could take up to imho 6-7 years) any thoughts on this thinking??

anyone up for some range-trading? Im not convinced that the market has enough steam to push through 1.2050-60 this afternoon...all this Easter holiday low-volume stuff. The range has been playing very well since yesterday. THere is a lager range from 2140-1980 and a smaller one from 2140-2050. On top of this oscillator indicators are working well in this range. Short from 2120 looking for 2070 then perhaps longing from there until 2120 again.

yes, totally agree with your last posting, however, w.r.t. your 12/24hr view, I am not quite shure, given the cable rate as of now,and with the BOE rates decision upon us, that sort of a figure(cable), I believe is unlikely, imho, we will see 1.8420 if that, a few hours before the decision, followed by a spike either way. Dont forget market is anticipating a rate rise.
I got quite a (in my mind) calculated view from Nottingham yesterday, on which I took my decision then. Lets wait and see....

You see in 75 years birds will have scales rather than feathers so no need to preen, they will be adding 500% body mass, thus enabling them to dine on humans. Once Greenspan and the other monetary geniuses finish with us we will be reduced to bird seed.

Black-capped chickadees, Northwestern crows and 27 other species of birds in Alaska have been reported with beaks up to three times their normal length. The deformity often strikes mature birds and reduces their ability to feed and preen effectively. In many birds, the deformity leads to death.

130 SOLDIERS KILLED IN IRAQ - REPORTS

A Pentagon source has said up to 130 US troops have been killed in fierce fighting in Iraq.

The large scale battle, described as "intense", has taken place in the town of Ar Ramadi, 20 miles west of Fallujah.

Sky News' David Chater said: "None of this is official yet - none of it is confirmed."

But he added: "It sounds very much like this is being carried out by men who are militarily trained."

Chater described the attack as "highly sophisticated".

Intraday indicators have loosened the tension and are heading down for another stab at the fibo line (1.1975-70) IMHO. I will be back later GL GT.

short $/c$ at 1.3085 per earlier call s/l 1.3125. If stopped sell $/c$ at 1.3155 with s/l at 1.3195. Still short euro/cad with 1.5625 initial target then looking for 1.5350-15400 level. IMHO.

The Global-View Forex Forum is the hub for currency trading on the web. Founded in 1996, it was the original forex forum and is still the place where forex traders around the globe come 24/7 looking for currency trading ideas, breaking forex news, fx trading rumors, fx flows and more. This is where you can find a full suite of forex trading tools, including a complete fx database, forex chart points, live currency rates, and live fx charts. In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.
