Sitting here thinking about a potential terror attack in the Chicagoland area the only real target outside of the financial district would be the Lake Michigan water supply network........and that's a big one.Hopefully it's all rumour driven drivel.

That is nothing strange, with so many platforms and charting package out there - there will be a difference, to understand why we will have to go into the programming methods use, formulas, the signal provided etc. all incorporated to represent the platforms visual concept of what is taking place in the market….
Every platform has their own concept of what a forex day is when it starts & end.. Some is dead on the weekends some of them is alive etc. Due to the time factor/spread parameter/signal programming representation, all these MA`s & other toys will be different….
Does it matters? Yes or no … who gives a §hit ?

If I may be so bold as to add (I don’t mean fuel to the fire) not every chart is created equal, as I have said before some might have a 10-15 difference in price depending on when they open and what prices are fed to the chart. There is no need to squabble about this IMO. BTW the bulls are not letting go very easily the dip for eur/usd has been limited to the T/L 1hr chart. I plan to buy on a dip on the mid term position.

today's key technical level for cable today was 1.8021 on cable, that triggered todays long move, (i would have posted that trade, but i don't think anyone here would have appreciated it) (most daytraders look to be a contra and go against the flow)

key level for next "session" that i'll devulge is eur/usd above 1.2177 for for 1.2227 and eventually 1.2275 maybe distantly at 1.2387

for me a trade that makes or loses 20-30 pips is basically meaningless so consider that when reading this

there's a reason that technicians have more clout and than a range trader or contra trader

ML I hope everything is well with you. Eur/usd may have seen the top for today even though I don’t have an intraday sell signal yet. These are the rough retracement numbers if 1.2130 holds for today 1.2050-60, 1.2025-30 and 1.2000-05. Immediate support is around 1.2070-80, 1.2010-20, 1.1980-90 and 1.1940-50. I have also got a mid term buy signal in my system as long as the 1.2140-50 is taken out it becomes much stronger with heavy support around the 1.1900 area. From now on is buying on dips mode for mid term players to test the 1.2460-70 area first IMHO. GL GT

So if we open the new day below 1.8120, I keep my short to maybe , maybe get 1.8060, above 1.8120, I close it because for me , that would suggest 1.8185 before any consequent retracement. Effectively, the pound shows all the signs to go further up (1.8185---->1.8265)and it doesn't please my wormy short trade!. The price must open below 1.8120 to have a chance to retrace but usually, this kind of full white candlestick on daily chart don't allow such a move. But ( there is a but!), as 1.8150 is a strong resistance and assuming the pound is out of breath, 1.81 still makes sense and moreover euro and chf are configured for a retracement right now.
Now, short or not to short, I'd say that in the absolute and since gbp/usd broke its donwtrend channel on the daily chart, better try to long than to short.

Right, my findings too. I closed eur/usd this AM at 1.2114 making 99 pips, and then shorted that pair. I think this was premature, a double top 5 hours ago was a false peak. I often err & leave money on the table, bad habit from stocks, question is how much. I could be in for a long wait; 5 day chart shows eur/usd lows almost a straight line from yesterday at 09:35 hours to now with no let up in sight. So amigos, don't short 'til you confirm (as in confirm) a definite downturn.

Shorting eur/usd: wait 'til this gradual trap of an uptrend stops (if it does) and goes down a bit before shorting this pair. Uptrend? Yes. 5 hours ago-1.2085 ; Now-1.2115-1.2125..slow but sure incline. If anything try a conservative and cautious long at a peak while waiting this out.

Ref to post/GEP (et al) bashing. No trader can possibly be "right" all the time, it'$ the law of average$ that count$. Any fool can dig up dirt trades/calls on any of us. A money making trader is right 50% to 70% of the time. Making money even on 50-50 (good - bad calls) is done with the art of using stop losses and limits. That separates the goof-offs from the pros. Yes, you can make lots of money and are wrong 50% of the time under that scope. When bashing, take into consideration who actually makes money and has the guts and takes the time to post their trades (and reasons why) knowing full well that some will go sour, some WILL be no good, guaranteed. Sell signal on 5 minutes chart, sell signal on gold, I like to see euro well below 1.21, chf above 1.27( +/- 15 pips), and yen back in buy mode at 112.35 bid. Also, the macd on 5 minutes chart shows 3 divergent top. 1.8120 would be welcomed as well....

Some ungratefuls here have the same mentality, take it all, maul the feeder and don't give a thing. You guys provide an OUTSTANDING suite of services which I'd bet that 99.9% truly appreciate, me included. Not a bad ratio in a world full of Yellowstone bears. beijing road, "conventional" is using purely technicals (the sma in this case) which are always based on past data (even if they happened to be forward looking)...conventional overextensions work for the euro but they do not always return a positive result for cable, so the primary and secondary levels in cable reflect the extra scope for extension...these levels are derived by taking the conventional overextension level and applying a multiplier to both...re mail noted...gl gt

Agreed. Try 3 year chart: MACD 12,26,9 and sma 50,30,12. See the cross indicating uptrend RIGHT NOW? So do those 20 pip scalps for now keeping an eye on uptrend to unfold. Hopefully 1.24-130 is in the waters ahead if CBs/Frankfurt don't interfear (which they will). USD will be super low then, USA military/communication tech & software exports (our specialties) will boom but materials will cost like 60 for durable goods mfg...sweet & sour as normal. Short run: USD/CAD indicator says USD falling slow but sure.

If you all look at the 5 day chart you'll see each of these stair steps upwards for eur/usd has a double top. IMHO if you wait 1-3 hours and short that second top likely at 1.2125, you'll gain an -easy- short of 78-85 pips in 12 hours. Since the chart's general trend is to go up, you'll probably gain more pips on longs than shorts.

re cad, many ingredients making up the usdcad recipe lately, but real money has been coming out of the pair and this has kept spec longs in check...we are in and around some important trendlines/technical zones at the moment, hence the choppy trade...re key zones, when acting as support/resistance after initial break, price will take path of least resistance whilst they are in place, which would be the direction of the trend, towards reaction high/low of initial break...failure to hold key zone support/resistance will see excitment fizzle out of market and trip stops on way to first retracement level...this could continue all the way until the former key zone was reached (as our key zones try to envelope market)...in case of cable today, first retracement would be 7995/8000 and former key zone 7950/60...upper key zone comes in at 8115/30...gl gt

hi,
I don't think it's wise to take any position right now. Better wait for the datas and catch the train (that's much more easy!). Eur/usd and usd/chf have a best potential. If the datas don't favor the dollar we could see 1.2115/ 1.2160 and 1.2690/1.2640 (chf) or on the other side 1.2030/1.1980 (do not underestimate the power of the dark side....) 1.2780/1.2830 for chf
I've got a buy order on pound at 1.8065 for 1.8125
sell 1.7980 for 1.7920
chf buy 1.2790 for 1.2830
euro sell 1.2040 for 1.20
chf sell 1.2695
euro buy 1.2101
Those numbers suppose a strong inertia due to a massive sell off of dollar.I mean most of them are in overdriven zone ( level 4/8).So if they don't get reach quickly and clearly that could mean a reversal is imminent.

"Do you have a live forex trading account but lack the requisite skills to trade your account for maximum profits???"

Then be patient and take the time to hone the requisite skills and gain experience required to work in the various market conditions. The only strategy anyone needs to remember is balancing risk/reward. If you can afford the risk yet then keep you expectations (both positive and negative) within paramaters you are comfortable with. There is no magic formula and most in the market with years of experience still make the same mistakes as trainees in their first year of trade. Anyone who thinks they can make a nice neat steady stream of cash without p+l swings is either in the fees busines or has never run a position either way longer than 20 pips. It's your money. So if anyone is going to lose it, it may as well be you as learn the "requisite skills". At least you will have gained something - experience.

be lucky and get this dirtbag off the forum please uncle Jay.

FX UPDATE 26/05
Good morning,

***EUR***
EUR/USD (currently 1,2040), 100 pips higher than yesterday opening. The market keeps consolidating above 1,1950 and is looking more than ever to break 1,2050-60 resistance for our much awaited 1,2170 target (1,2168 today our 200 period daily weighted moving average) with chances to reach 1,2350 since enough momentum was accumulated in the last 7 trading days. Oil made the headlines overnight with a new high at $ 42.15, traders are worried of the impact on global economy and a devalued USD might be one solution. We still favour range trading with bullish bias and will be looking to buy on retracementents to 1,2000 and 1,1940 (stops below 1,1870) or on break of 1,2060 for 1,2170 then 1,2350 medium term.

Gold at 387,00, with WTI July at 42,00

***JPY***
USD/JPY (112,90). The pair broke 112,80 overnight (high 113,33) on poor NIKKEY performance and high oil price worries, Japanese economy beeing particularly sensitive to energy price fluctuations. The market is still looking to consolidate inside 112-113,50 before next move. Recent range 104-112 could give way to a new range 111-120 but 115 still remains to be broken to open door to higher level.
EUR/JPY currently 135,80, looking bid and ready to challenge 136,50 resistance.

***GBP***
Cable (currently 1,7990), bullish since this morning and pretty near from our 1,8050 target. Expect some resistance to be encountered inbetween 1,8020-1,8100. If broken, 1,81 could open way to a new 1,82-1,86 trading range.
EUR/GBP (0,6695) very stable since yesterday and hovering around 0,6700. We still favour some buy on dips strategy but will be cautious as a significant break of 0,6680 would negate scenario and imply a test of 0,6620.Resistances at 0.6730 then 0,6760.
Have a nice day,

Olivier

Would dare to take this valuable space to inform you abt the results of my negosiations with the provider.

1. They refused to fix the problem. That means they did NOT restore my 640 pips of profit.
2. They did not want to hear abt other dealers and providers at all.
3. They suggested that I should trade with some other provider which I mentioned that some of them have policy of sofisticated stop loses.
That means they PISSED ME OFF.
That means they dont want to have me (and anybody else) as a client. That means they are CHEAP butterfly like "dealers" which live only while flowers are blooming.

Australian Prime Minister John Howard on Tuesday warned his coalition lawmakers they face the fight of their political lives at this year's election, though he remained vague on when the government will go to the polls.
"We face a very big fight at the end of the year or whenever the election is held," a coalition spokesman quoted Howard as telling his colleagues. "The odds are very much against us. Victory can only be achieved if we work together as a team," Howard said. "We are in the fight of our political lives and all energy must be focused on that," he added. His comments come in the wake of another voter opinion poll showing the major opposition Labor Party comfortably ahead of the government.

nick, i see aud gets belted at the figure every time which is keeping lid on eur. In my opinion, aud leads the way for eur in asia at the moment and it's not responding very positively.

i see that i am short at 83 and in need of some moral support!

Normandy Nick 02:28 GMT May 25, 2004 Reply
euro still has 30 minutes to blow this resistance away, otherwise, that would be a worry....

sydney fg 02:23 GMT May 25, 2004 Reply
anyone game to sell some usd/jpy here?
macd converging for a sell signal and price resting on two trendlines om the hrly. A break down might be a quick one to 112. 40-50. eur/usd threatening to bust higher too, but lacks momentum. If that pushes through, usd/jpy should drop.

AG, gbp/usd has been building long position since a little while now. I would not try a short here as it has a big potential to go up ( late compared to euro i.e). It always risky to short a long trend...

Ok, big fishes gave the tune. Her Majesty opened at 1.7918, 1.7920 would have better but the move of the very last minutes tells a lot IMO.
Usd/jpy opens the hour in sell signal. Sickness on usd/chf . Let's see how it evolves....euro above and usd/chf below 50 ema, 5 minutes chart would confirm the market wish --->weaker dollar.

Forex Forum

The Global-View Forex Forum is the hub for currency trading on the web. Founded in 1996, it was the original forex forum and is still the place where forex traders around the globe come 24/7 looking for currency trading ideas, breaking forex news, fx trading rumors, fx flows and more. This is where you can find a full suite of forex trading tools, including a complete fx database, forex chart points, live currency rates, and live fx charts. In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.

FX Trading

Global-View also offers a full fx trading chart gallery that includes fx pairs, such as the EURUSD, commodities, stocks and bonds. In a fx trading world where markets are integrated, the chart gallery is a valuable trading tool. Look for updates on the Forex Forum when the chart gallery is updated.

Forex Blog

Global-View.com also offers a forex blog, where articles of interest for currency trading are posted throughout the day. The forex blog articles come from outside sources, including forex brokers research as well as from the professionals at Global-View.com. This forex blog includes the Daily Forex View, Market Chatter and technical forex blog updates.
