There are a lot of websites popping selling Dinar.
Just wandering if it is worth buying as it has depreciated so much.
Once things are back in order it will obviously regain some of its value.
Substatially I would hope.

I'd be careful shorting cable at the moment.
There is a risk with thinning end of week liquidity that the long held 1.8480/90 multi high tops is setting up a fairly obvious buy stops area. Even though many in NY are treating this as a long wekend there is still plenty of slippage risk on the topside the next 24 hours.

BB....so you saw it sell off after the hike announcement down to sub 8200 and then it bounced to 1.8400? Think I was played the sucker the other day putting my stops so close to the support. Classic stop run maybe.

USA Biscuit Boy 19:50 GMT June 10, 2004 Reply
ML here is a snapshot of the action from 4Cast:

The 'rock solid' bid at 1.8275 obviously not as solid as was expected, (hoped) for, as we see a classic 'if it wont go up' reaction after the MPC decision. Traders had thought that they had a solid base, but left themselves vulnerable to a quick interbank squeeze as the UK clearer previously seen as a very solid buyer at least sat on their hands after the as expected rate rise combined with a 'same again' statement which can best be described as 'neutral'.

We talked earlier today about the 'rock-solid' bid at 1.8275, led by a UK clearer, but apparently abandoned after the BoE rate rise around midday. We haven't been able to confirm that it's the same name, but current price action suggests that it might be, with intraday players topped and tailed - and in Europe, looking forward to going home! In the meantime, this cable move back up has brought the cross back into line, and has helped to set off USD selling elsewhere (CHF, EUR). Technical studies - for those still keen to play on the day - suggest that a break of 1.8360 will push us back up to 1.8400 and maybe as high as 1.8460.

ICT ML 19:44 GMT June 10, 2004 Reply
Well crapola, longs got taken out at stops yesterday and today cable bounces 2 figures.......go figure. THink I need a little time away from the madness.

My 4 hr stuff just gave a swing buy signal at 1.8300 area for 1.8600 flagpole target perhaps.

Anyone able to tell me the short version of BoE action / statement today and market reaction?

USA Biscuit Boy 19:28 GMT June 10, 2004 Reply
I think eur/usd is a sell on rallies for now. Eur/usd rose on dollar weakness mainly and euro itself is weak right now. Dollar is by no means strong but has regained a little bit of composure with the threat of higher and faster rate rises than previously thought. It think Dr Q's 1.15-1.12350 range looks very probable now given the asian sovereign name buying on the way up has disappeared. But having said that the market is random and large buyers can emerge at any time.

When the Asean currency is coming out? (I will put 95% of my capital in it!)...!!!

Just got a huge shock regarding the elections for the European parliament, the old continent is passing away, to those who do not know, EUR is the currency of that parliament.

Day trade with EUR, spend/use EUR but do not dare to think to make it your currency to hold; your/our kids deserve better currency to live with!

CHF/JPY/INR/CNR and even USD (sorry if I forgot to mention some other good/safe currencies) will make your future safer.
Stay away from EUR as own capital currency.

The Producer Price Index (PPI) for May 2004, originally scheduled for release on June 11, has been postponed until further notice.

BLS staff are working to resolve the unexpected difficulties in calculating the index this month.

A revised release date has not yet been set but could be no earlier than Tuesday, June 15. When a revised release date for the May 2004 PPI has been determined, it will be announced at least one day ahead of time on this web page and through a news advisory.

The BLS expresses its apologies to those who experience any problems as a result of this delay.

This is pure a fight.

Eur bulls have been using eur/jpy and eur/chf to maintain the long term eur uptrend during the USD correction. But the bears seem to have not much tools to use.....

Thus, agree OMIL that we need to be caution on the tree vs forest relationship.

BUT, once that Ultra-long term uptrend line being questioned cleanly, u have to make up the choice.

Especially now we are still far away from Nov....

Hello everyone I am enjoying an early weekend. After the big move made by eur/usd I expect for this pair to range for the rest of the week. The retracement numbers stay the same but support has changed a bit I have 1.2090-2100, and 1.2160-65. If for some reason the bulls take over the 1.2220-30 area then this $ correction can change very fast. Let’s not lose site of what is really happening sometimes we are so close to the trees that we can’t see the forest in front of us. The picture is still a dollar correction with the mother T/L around 1.1880-90 in my radar. That means in theory the long term play is still buy eur/usd. With that in mind we can still make money out of this correction but never loose site of the real picture IMHO. GL GT

nt, that aud/nzd downtrend could turn out to be a large double bottom on charts if we review the 10 years daily chart on aud/nzd.

I don't want to be called Mr. Bottom so, stay out first and wait till it makes some better signals/signs.

For the nzd, I think the inverse shs pattern is not smooth by the dip yesterday towards .6150 region + the clear key-day reversal few days ago.

So, I took the position and option as stated.
once kiwi under .62 again, truth will be there.

below still applies for kiwi...re audnzd cross, those targets have been reached so there might be some profit taking although one should consider that a very bearish pattern has now developed on this pair and 1.07/1.08 would be a longer term target for the players taking these positions...they may appear on the test of 1080 and a hold of that support would possibly confirm their intentions

Nottingham 10:19 GMT June 3, 2004
audnzd...some funds that have been targeting 1110 may have caused earlier blip to 1160...focus now falls on 1080 support, which if broken should see a slide to 1000...I mentioned yesterday that some funds were looking to get on board kiwi in 6200-6100 zone...the pair briefly dipped below 6200 a few hours ago, but it is unlikely that the funds will have had all of their orders filled...those are the facts and this would be my hunch>>>there may not significant interest to buy nzd whilst the dollar pair is above 6200, so that translates to a possibility of 1080 holding for the time being...however, should kiwi dip into the target zone, the audnzd cross would then be favour to take out 1080 support and the stops that reside below it...gl gt

re uk rates...for cable, combination of out of money calls and puts safest strategy
eurgbp likely to return to negative territory on the day on 25bps (even if only briefly) and of course certain to if 50bps
an increase in rates is not a foregone conclusion even if gilts have priced it in (eyes can lie) so worth buying a cheap daily out of money cable put (say strike 1.82/1.8175/1.8150)>>>biggest rewards here will come if no change but likelihood on at least getting money back after profit taking on 25bps...either way can be seen as cheap play which will also cover any upside strats you intend to play...similar strat can be applied with eurgbp where daily 6670 puts are cheap as chips and will take care on 50bps (6620 calls will see to no change)...all of the above if combined with spot will see you right whatever the scenario...gl gt

Hi,
Her Majesty gave me hard time yesterday! I closed my short trade (result of a reverse at 1.8295) at b/e as my target as not been touched (1.8240). I still favor the donwside because a hike of 0.25 is already priced in (we could see a " sell the fact " reaction) and if never they leave the rates unchanged, the reaction will be negative IMO. Sell order at 1.8230 for 1.8175. Buy order if and only if 1.8385 prints for 1.8440 (0.5 hike?). If there isn't any significant reaction, then the us job datas will lead th trand.

houston st 00:07 GMT - Concentrate on the weekly cycle charts today. We will update our page if we notice something unusual in longer time cycle. Daily cycle charts are not too reliable under current circumsatnces.

jkt diablo 17:08 GMT - EUR/USD : It is possible but very unlikely that we can see 1.23 level within the rest of this week.

I think $ bears are not over yet so buying euro and cable on dips should be safe. My euro long @ 2070 was hit last night with my stop loss order @ 2030, cause I didn't expect euro to drop that low overnight. Anyway, I'll still re-enter at a better level today. Have a great day and trade everyone!

GOOD AFTERNOON...the euro has resumed its downward bias ..the critical level of resistance is 120..this will be breached in the asian session today with the euro finding its way to 118.50-11885 by monday..these low levels will not be seen this week due to the short trading week...AUD has resumed its downward trend to 6870 as expected anf the downward bias will continue. For the next 4 trading sessions aud will trade between 66905-6855,with new lows to be reached next week....next weeks figure on the aud that is targeted will be 67.85 which is will have a freefall effect on the aussie if breached....good trades

anyone have a strong opinion on the GBP rate decision due out? My take is they leave it at 4.25% and this promotes a strong pound. If they raise rates .25% to 4.50 a short CABLE looks like a good play. Appreciate any opinions on the topic. Good Trades All.

USD/JPY : It is unlikely that the market can move too far away from 109.05 - 109.53 if Crude - Oil can stablized around 37.50. 109.05 is the key quantized level of my monthly cycle and 109.53 is the key level of my weekly cycle charts. They are acting like a Black Hole in our Universe. The current expected trading range from my weekly cycle is 108.59 - 109.53 - 110.47.

Hong Kong Qindex 07:35 GMT June 5, 2004
USD/JPY (Weekly Cycle ) : The key quantized level of my weekly cycle is located at 109.53 (super magnet). The lower barrier of my weekly cycle is expected at 107.62 // 108.59 and the mid-point reference is 108.11. The upper barrier is located at 113.28 // 114.22 and the mid-point reference is 113.75. A projected resistant point is positioning at 112.35. The market rhythm is represented by 94 pips (k=0.938) and the weekly cycle normal trading range is 108.59 - 114.22 (Maintain a short position if the market is trading below 112.82).

Combining weak Australia May employment data with weak 1Q GDP outcome to suggest economy has fallen would be mistake, says Tony Pearson, senior economist at NAB. Leading indicators of employment upbeat while business indicators still robust; economy has strong underlying pulse and job gains are in the offing

Dr Q, I think I should start calling you the "Soothsayer Q", with all the good consistent analysis you provide.

Sooth´say`er
Noun 1. soothsayer - someone who makes predictions of the future (usually on the basis of special knowledge) - a person with unusual powers of foresight - someone who predicts the future by the positions of the planets and sun and moon.

Did you predict the movement of Venus past the face of the Sun yesterday? Sorry, im only kiddin. LOL

Thanks once again for your analysis, I appreciate it as a novice trader.

Hey I am glad everyone is waiting for my words LOL. Here we go I am ready for 7 more misses in a row for me. Rough retracement numbers as long as 1.2020 holds for eur/usd are 1.2145-50, 1.2185-90 and 1.2220-25. Resistance is seen around the 1.2050-60, and 1.2115-20 for now. The stopper for the eur/usd runaway train today was the 250ma on the 4hr chart so far with the mother of all T/L at around 1.1880-90 showing up in my radars. Well I will be back for more by the London session till then you will all have to wait some more for my words LOL. GL GT ;-)

PS: keep the humor up guys and remember its all goooood and by the way we still need to do the group hug that Flip suggested earlier.
