Eur/Usd and DX tend to make yearly low or top in January..I am expecting Eur/Usd to make this year's low in 1.30-1.25 region..

Alas,Obama rally did not happen and we may see some more weekness in stocks and Eur/Usd as well..Forex market is still dancing to stock market..But I am expecting a good stock market rally plus Eur/usd rally starting in a few weeks lasting well into May..In Eur/usd terms,I see buying anything below 1.30 a good bet for this year targeting well above 1.50 at some point.. Only a medium-term directional view..All the best in the new year..

JP - how this rally in Crude and Gold fit with the strong dollar today??

in Crude March 09 - I guess it's just short covering in the face of the range lows -- but I was trying to figure the Gold strength -- it held above the trendline support at 823 and now surged above both 20 & 50 Day MAs.... so new highs ahead...

but what about the fx side - are we withnessing a new correlations kicking in atm?

Interesting Times

IF you ve been paying attention to Harper's blather, all the G-7 CBs have conspired to act in a unified manner. (print print print and lower yields to zero if need be. I have not yet heard them talk about actually charging people for keeping money at banks. yet). Their colluded action is to fight frugality , and so essentially the BoC, the good team player it thinks it is, is anti-savers: a million bux on deposit will now "yield" $10,000 in interest. Minus 50% tax grab.

john - interesting as there has always been this discussion FA vs. TA.... but for me the most interesting thing is those things I read in books that really work --- in case of GBP it had 3 lows and according to a Gann writing the 4-th time it won't last so here we see the breach and a new trend down ensues...
think 1.35 is easy to see this week

The euro is torture instrument for Spain
Reply
Ten years of euro membership have lured Spain into a terrible trap.A key reason why Standard & Poor's has stripped Spain of its AAA credit rating is that the country no longer sets its own interest rates and cannot devalue its currency to restore balance.
S&P did not say explicitly that EMU has become an instrument of debt-deflation torture for Spain. That would be breaking the great euro taboo. It insisted that EMU provides an anchor of stability. But that is pro-forma dressing. The sub-text is that Spain cannot recover until it breaks its chains. LINK

ECOFIN: Eurogroup Think Worst Of Crisis To Come -Austrian Min
Reply
Finance ministers of the 16 countries that share the euro agree that the worst of the financial and economic crisis is yet to come, Austrian Finance Minister Josef Proell said Tuesday. "The mood is such that we are obviously moving towards the peak of the crisis and that we must act in concert and desisively," Proell said before a meeting of European Union ministers here. He also warned that budget consolidation must be kept in mind. "There is the day after (to consider) and we will be caught up by excessive deficits that are currently unforeseeable for us," he said. He also said that Eurogroup finance ministers extensively discussed a declaration on budget consolidation but failed to reach an agreement.

JPY looks like the only currency adding to it's value compared to everything.

Referring to the hourly chart formation(USD/JPY), that is an invitation for the world to sell everything and buy yen.

It is all a Q. of who will continue to supply cheap yens or try to reverse the trend to devalue the yen.

Forex Forum

The Global-View Forex Forum is the hub for currency trading on the web. Founded in 1996, it was the original forex forum and is still the place where forex traders around the globe come 24/7 looking for currency trading ideas, breaking forex news, fx trading rumors, fx flows and more. This is where you can find a full suite of forex trading tools, including a complete fx database, forex chart points, live currency rates, and live fx charts. In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.

FX Trading

Global-View also offers a full fx trading chart gallery that includes fx pairs, such as the EURUSD, commodities, stocks and bonds. In a fx trading world where markets are integrated, the chart gallery is a valuable trading tool. Look for updates on the Forex Forum when the chart gallery is updated.

Forex Blog

Global-View.com also offers a forex blog, where articles of interest for currency trading are posted throughout the day. The forex blog articles come from outside sources, including forex brokers research as well as from the professionals at Global-View.com. This forex blog includes the Daily Forex View, Market Chatter and technical forex blog updates. In additional to its real time forex forum, there are also Member Forums available for more in depth forex trading discussions.
