As everybody , I guess anyway,,, I am looking, what could be a paintrade today ?!... the obvious trade would be for sure to sell the carries and trying to fill the gaps since yesterday and the other obvious could be cable around 147-14750 really on top of range.... so if the unexpected happens today... this could be long gbpjpy around here and moving in direction of 145-146.... stops though have to be taken around 14155 ish... have fun...

Build the Fibo. ratio 1.618 in another way.

Write a simple program on an excel sheet, for the following RULE.

Take any two rational numbers R1 and R2(if R1=R2 it is trivial) and build the following series, the same way you build the regular fib. series from integers, but with any two rational numbers.

R1,R2,R1+R2, R2+(R1+R2), (R1+R2)+[R2+(R1+R2)],....R(n),R(n+1), [R(n)+R(n+1)].......

after many many n's compute R(n+1)/R(n) I believe you will approach the famous 1.618....golden ratio.

Well, because mathematicians proved that there are more irrational numbers than rational numbers, try on your free time to prove it for any two irrational numbers too. hehehe

And one may bring into account that USD/Yen, may attempt a Ret. to around 97.50(only suspicious for the moment)

YEN crosses
Reply
Today's action has turned very sloppy.........however, the YEN crosses are trading directionally, so some attention is being exercised in the markets.......looks like anything over the jpy has strength.

As for the eur/usd... I just it off with another third of 2x sized usd/cad short, for net gain of a meager 40 pips. Eur/usd was 50 pip loser, and usd/cad second out was from lower entry, so only 90 pips there.

It appears that the Europeans are crossed up with light volume scratchy moves.......my guess is the market is looking to the May 7th ECB meeting for the next directional push. Anyway, again, today seems to be better plays in YEN crosses, and I missed post due to movement right after entry in 3 yen crosses.....eur/jpy, gbp/jpy, and usd/jpy. All look decent although I'll gauge this pullback to determine commitment........ there may be an entry level coming up accross the board... we'll see.

Gold Waves And Cycles
Gold's rise last week above resistance from the previous fourth-wave high of $900.00-$903.41, which is 0.382 of the 967.00-to-864.10 move, was the first price confirmation of a brightening wave and cyclical picture.

In the big picture, the $682 to $1006 rise was a big wave ((1)). Subsequent price action has followed a three-leged corrective path, likely bottoming at $864, the middle of support from $882 to $844. We look for this wave ((2)) corrective low to fuel the start of a large wave ((3)) rally, aided by the bottoming 20-week cycle. This wave/cycle combination points to an eventual return of the broader bull trend, eventually conquering $1006 and $1032.

It is enough to see how he handles the Flu issue.

Telling the people to cover their mouth when they sneeze and wash their hands.
That simply reminds me the great say attributed to queen Marie Antoinette."let them eat cakes"("let them wash their hands and cover their mouth and nose when sneezing" )

And when Joe Biden expresses real fear for his family and advices them to avois planes and subways, he is being shut up.

gold and usd/cad
Reply
Mr. ZEUS,

Thank you for you comments and thoughts about gold. I respect your views and will keep them in mind. My cost basis is so low that the very worst that could happen in my position is double or triple my money, not to mention 30:1 app. leverage in futures and rollovers.

I lost my feed today in my main system so didn't know till now that my stop was elected in usd/chf for -10 pips... nothing. Smacked stocks pretty good, and am building long term crude position. (I believe I posted this on GVI, but maybe here too).

I have a very collective sell working in usd/cad, and have just added to it (only add to winners). It would take a nasty reversal to get me out of this, b/c a full line up trade has not been the case in this market very often for me.

gl/gt and thanks again for your feedback

I am afraid to say that usd/yen will move above 100 maybe 100.5

UI, instead of selling usd/yen, I just sold gbp/yen 146.83 after expecting some weakness on the cable. And assuming usd/yen will bow down from 99.15, then the move will be huge.

Early on, I had a very brief scalping 98.97 buying, closed at 99.14 for +16pips.

Had -28pips on earlier usd/yen shorts 98.84.

possible monthly doji (range is close but not perfect), if it moves over 99.40 it will be a bullish outside candle on the weekly. stops over 99.40.

Sell gbp/usd
Entry: 1.4802 Target: Stop: 1.4825

just shorted the cable 1.4802 after seeing a hammer on the 15", bearish tweezer candle on the 5", and divergence.

EUR/AUD

Liquidated eur/aud possie of 1.8028 at 1.8215 for +187 pips. Mission accomplished for my very first trade for this pair.

Bobl, thanks for posting. I had to look at the chart and saw the opportunity. If not for your post, I could have not seen the +600 movement and the support lurking on 1.8000.

In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.
