I am never in front of the screens on big number days 1 hour before the release as far to much noise . I leave it for a couple of hours after the numbers before i return ,then switch them on when the dust has settled a little. Anyone in my view who has short term trades over NFP are gambling not trading. I was happy with the price action before the release ie mid 1.42 for Euro and happy with the 1.4450 important res so the levels continue to hold and the 200 day m/a becoming more important GT

Nonfarm Payroll Employment

Non-Farm Payroll Employment is a monthly estimate of the number of payroll jobs at all nonfarm business establishments and government agencies. Information is also provided on the average number of hours worked per week and average hourly and weekly earnings.

The rate of unemployment is released along with this report.

Impact: Growth of employment and hours worked provide important information about the current and likely future pace of overall economic growth. Trends in average hourly earnings provide information about supply and demand conditions in labor markets, which may provide signals about the overall level of resource utilization in the economy.

DXY COT positioning

Weekly DX chart with COT positioning shows Commercials and Large Traders are stretched as they were in Sept 2008 - then a brief reversal ensued before the trend resumed.

I 've put vertical lines where the positioning flipped from long to short to mark the changes in DX trend.

Since I'm not adept to COT analysis the only obvious recap I could make is the until the Commercials are hedged form DX downside the trend is up no matter the temporary pullbacks.
Certainly this works best for long term traders not me but like to try to anaylyze as it goes by.

Employment Data / Unemployment Rate

Employment is a monthly estimate of the number of payroll jobs and government agencies. The rate of unemployment is released along with this report.

Impact: Growth of employment provides important information about the current and likely future pace of overall economic growth and future monetary policy. Most analysts prefer to watch the employment data rather than the unemployment rate, which is also impacted by changes to the labor force (denominator of the ratio).

Other statistics watched are the breakdown between full and part-time jobs and the labor participation rate.

DJ Bullard: US To Keep Interest Rates At Current Level For Now
Reply
The U.S. will keep interest rates at the current levels for now and won't consider ending policies aimed at supporting the economy until employment picks up, a senior Federal Reserve official said Friday.

"The U.S. can now consider withdrawing stimulus programs designed to address panic, but the time is not ripe to withdraw programs designed to strengthen the economy," James Bullard, president of Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, told a forum at a Shanghai university.

"We have not even seen one positive job report," he said, adding that at least one report showing employment growth is needed before considering pulling out of the economy-supportive programs.

He also said a double-dip recession looks unlikely for the U.S.

TOKYO (Dow Jones)--Japan's new Finance Minister Naoto Kan toned down his call for a weaker yen after the prime minister said the government should refrain from such explicit remarks.

The change in rhetoric caused the dollar to drop from a four-month high of Y93.78 to as low as Y93.11, although the market perception remains largely unchanged in that Kan wants the yen to fall to help Japanese exporters.

"In general, markets should determine" exchange rates, Kan told a regular news conference Friday. This was a turnaround from Thursday, when he took office and jolted markets by saying he wanted the yen "a bit weaker" and that many Japanese companies would prefer the dollar to rise to about Y95.

He changed tack after Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama sought to restrain the new minister, telling reporters, "When it comes to foreign exchange, stability is desirable and rapid moves are undesirable. The government basically shouldn't comment on foreign exchange."

Kan, who is also deputy prime minister, didn't back down altogether Friday, saying, "While the prime minister's statement is right in principle, I--as minister directly in charge of such matters--must give sufficient consideration to expectations and hopes held by the (Japanese) business sector" on the yen exchange rate.

AUD/JPY continues to trade much better bid with Japanese demand for uridashi issues still very high and ahead of more samurai issuance, the next from Westpac due to be launched on the 15th. Amount-wise, the issue looks to be sizeable and some buying of AUD may have already been seen during the course of this week as AUD/JPY traded higher. Dips continue to be bought in this pair by specs as well. This is especially the case now following strong Aussie retail sales data yesterday suggesting more RBA interest rate hikes ahead.
We will see Aussie interest rate as high as 5%-----hear from here first once again.
Technically, AUD/JPY looks to be headed for a rendezvous with its 200-week moving average at 87.24. The cross is already at levels not seen since the week of October 12, "08. That week saw the cross move down from 88.90 to as low as 80.41. A break above the 200-week moving average would target a test of the mid- 104 highs seen in the week of July 27, "08. Supports on the daily chart are well below current levels and start with the Ichimoku tenkan line at 83.57, then the kijun line at 82.27 and the 100-day moving average at 81.01. Closer to current levels, 85.00 should work as intra-day support.

First if this post is offensive in anyway I sincerely apologize as to offend is not my Motive. I am a Private Investor seeking a Trader to start a Trading Relationship with. I have been seeking for a while and I'm at a lost for where I really should be looking. I have taken some FOREX courses and have grown very interested in the profits to be gained from a FOREX Account.

Any Help, Input or Direction would be greatly appreciated.

PBOC Bill Yld Hike Not Substantive Policy Change
Reply
PBOC's decision to slightly raise yield on 3-month bills isn't substantive policy change, but reflects policy "fine tuning" that regulators have been attempting since mid 2009 to prevent another glut in lending to industries suffering from overcapacity, says Eurasia Group. In weekly open-market operation yesterday, central bank sells CNY60 billion worth of 3-month bills at 1.3684%, after keeping yield unchanged at 1.3280% since August 13. Notes state media coverage of this week's bill issuance, along with central bank's annual work conference, has focused on continuation of moderately loose monetary policy, and "rationally abundant" credit policy - likely an effort to calm market sentiment over a too-aggressive tightening push.

In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.
