At a hindsight and overlooking the uncertainty of the last few days, traders should have given higher respect to the daily key reversal(in the Euro) as a reliable signal and avoid loses and/or tension.

As for the AUS/USD I will look at a possible target at 94.xx within the next 10 days.

Zeus,I agree on your last comment about the masses etc. That's the truth.Market is having a behavior to give you money and take them from you almost at the same levels. It's making circles and to avoid this it depends on the timings and the timeframes.
As for NFP tomorrow,I'd love to see a strong number coming out.I am wondering too on the SNB intervention. Why today and not tomorrow late on Friday where the liquidity is very low after the NFP?I think that their main task was to shake the markets and protect the level on Eur/Chf.In other words, they don't want to see it breaking below 1,4100.So, they will probably expect some Usd strength tomorrow that's why they act now.
My main terget on Eur/Usd still remains at 3400's lows and expecting a 200 pips action on the downside. After all, technical analysis shows you the possible movement and fundamental makes this true.We are on the highs of the downtrend channel (technical) and NFP will run the show...

Look here is how the game is played- the market stretches one way, convince the masses that it is useless to fight so they join, then when they least expect it, the market "neutralizes" before something as unknown and questionable as this particular NFP release coupled with the long illiquid weekend.

Don't be fooled by randomness and don't be surprised either.
Expect the unexpected.

Fed using Repo 105 ?
Reply
The Fed has finally came clean. It now admits it bailed out Bear Stearns -- taking on tens of billions of dollars of the bank's bad loans -- in order to smooth Bear Stearns' takeover by JP Morgan Chase. The secret Fed bailout came months before Congress authorized the government to spend up to $700 billion of taxpayer dollars bailing out the banks, even months before Lehman Brothers collapsed. The Fed also took on billions of dollars worth of AIG securities, also before the official government-sanctioned bailout.

The losses from those deals still total tens of billions, and taxpayers are ultimately on the hook. But the public never knew. There was no congressional oversight. It was all done behind closed doors. And the New York Fed -- then run by Tim Geithner -- was very much in the center of the action.

OPINION:

The USDJPY pair is higher, while the EURJPY cross is up. The quarterly Bank of Japan Tankan Survey was a mixed bag and did not suggest a strong performance for the quarter ahead, Capex projections were weak.

Reportedly, there currently is an overhang of long JPY hedges (vs. the USD and EUR) that will have to be unwound. There have been reports that corporations are over hedged currencies based on overly optimistic foreign revenue projections. This activity is coming just as the fiscal year ends and repatriation demand for the JPY wanes. Expect no official opposition to a weaker JPY. In fact, Tokyo wants its currency to weaken as one strategy for stimulating growth and encouraging price increases is a weaker currency.

monthly gbpjpy It should test 151.65 area after which a sell off down to 135.28 or extended to 128.66 area is expected.

Elliott : elongated flat correction up 142.33

Scenario for this week

Difficult to predict the next move. If first down it should hold 136.19 or 135.54. If first up it should face resistance in 137.98 - 139.12 zone to 135.54 zone.

Elliott : irregular flat support in correction up 141.20

Scenario for today

Currently uptrend should end around 143.51 - 142.70 area. A correction down to below 140.44 is expected. A rise above 143.49 will abort the expected correction.

hi Belgrade

ohhh man...i'm a bad teacher,really!...my verbal english is like i'm retarded,also.
THIS WILL HELP:
1)your trading unit MUST NOT be greater then 1% of your equity(smaler-if your leverage is greater then 1:100)
2)simulate trading for at least 9-12 months(if you have a univerity degree,if not-then simulate 18 months,at least!)
3)while simulating trading, you MUST read (about forex topics of your choice) for at least 3-4 hours EVERY DAY!
4)when you are ready to trade,ALWAYS write down your strategy!never go back on it and analyse your play every time!(esspecially when you lose!)
...something like that
PS:don't mind stupid bullies...it's better to be dead then bullied around...all those boms will come back to them one day...just disregard.

This just what I feel.
Start to feel we are getting abit over done in Dolyen.
I am not saying that we are going to peak out anytime soon but we haven't seen any significant pullbacks so far and yet hearing too many noises recommend selling the yen these days which make me a bit worried. I myself is a contrarian type. It's been my favourite trading style since early 90's. Bought Dolyen, Euryen AussieYen SterlingYen on the 19th Friday when market sold them down. Now I think I should look to unload a bit of these positions and look to buy again.

Data @ 14:00 GMT
Purchasing Managers Index – Manufacturing

Most major economies have purchasing managers indices (PMI) released monthly. They are compiled by various organizations. Some focus on the manufacturing sector while others measure the service sector. They are a very current measure of the economic health of the manufacturing or services sector. The PMI indices are usually based on five major indicators: new orders, inventory levels, production, supplier deliveries and the employment environment.

A PMI of greater than 50 represents expansion, compared to the previous month. A reading under 50 represents a contraction, while a reading at 50 indicates no change.

We find the PMI indices to be useful predictors of future economic activity.

Construction Spending

The Construction Spending data is a monthly report that report on the amount of construction spending for home building, which is the major component of the report. In addition to residential spending, the data also tracks spending on government projects and office buildings.

Weekly jobless data

Weekly jobless data are the most current read on employment and also the economy.

Initial Jobless claims can be very volatile so many also watch the 4-week moving average to get a better handle on trends.

Continuing claims are used by economists to predict the unemployment rate. These data are not as consistent as they once were as statutory benefit rules have been changing. Changes in the rules can affect the number of individuals eligible for claims.

Updated and revised charts to follow after the report.

below 1.0115 usd/cad is dangerously low and targets 1.0053, the monthly chart shows an acceleration of the losses and being so close from parity won't help IMO.
Above 1.3510, eur/usd confirms strengh and gain extension to 1.3570.
usd/chf is flirting with february and march lows, so it's kind of quit or double. We can see it as a bargain or if it breaks through the floor, I don't see a good reaction before 1.0420
gbp/usd shows a very suggestive bullish pattern IMO on the monthly chart. I won't trade the beast at such overbought levels.

PIMCO sees Greece action ineffective; UK downgrade

(Reuters) - PIMCO sees Europe's action on Greece as ineffective in fixing the country's problems, while Britain's sovereign debt rating could be downgraded within a year, a top executive of the world's largest bond fund said.

Scott Mather, head of global portfolio management at Pacific Investment Management Co (PIMCO), told a briefing in Taipei on Thursday that the company was underweighting UK, U.S. and pan-European 10-year sovereign bonds.

"Miracles are needed in the next six months in order to keep economic growth in the developed world," Mather said.

PIMCO has been warning investors to stay away from developed countries like Britain with heavy debt burdens, recommending instead shifting assets to Asia and developing countries.

EUR/USD's corrective rise from 1.3266 might still be in progress but we'd continue to anticipate strong resistance at 1.3570 to conclude the correction and bring fall resumption. Below 1.3384 will flip intraday bias back to the downside for retesting 1.3266 first. However, note that decisive break of 1.3570 will indicate that the five wave sequence from 1.5143 is completed and stronger rebound should then be seen to 1.3817 resistance and above.

Fed Reveals Bear Stearns Assets It Swallowed in Firm’s Rescue

By Craig Torres, Bob Ivry and Scott Lanman

April 1 (Bloomberg) -- After months of litigation and political scrutiny, the Federal Reserve yesterday ended a policy of secrecy over its Bear Stearns Cos. bailout.

In a 4:30 p.m. announcement in a week of congressional recess and religious holidays, the central bank released details of securities bought to aid Bear Stearns’s takeover by JPMorgan Chase & Co. Bloomberg News sued the Fed for that information.

The Fed’s vehicle known as Maiden Lane LLC has securities backed by mortgages from lenders including Washington Mutual Inc. and Countrywide Financial Corp., loans that were made with limited borrower documentation. More than $1 billion of them are backed by “jumbo” mortgages written by Thornburg Mortgage Inc., which now carry the lowest investment-grade rating. Jumbo loans were larger than government-sponsored mortgage buyers such as Fannie Mae could finance -- $417,000 at the time.

“The Fed absorbed that risk on its balance sheet and is now seen to be holding problematic, legacy assets,” said Vincent Reinhart, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington who was the central bank’s monetary- affairs director from 2001 to 2007. “There is both an impairment to its balance sheet and its reputation.”

Inflation 'building up', survey shows
Reply
CONSUMER prices rose by 0.5 per cent in March, revealing a build-up of inflationary pressures, a survey says.
The rise on the TD Securities - Melbourne Institute monthly inflation gauge followed an increase of 0.8 per cent in January and 0.1 per cent in February.

The annual inflation rate by this measure was 2.5 per cent, up from 1.9 per cent over the year to February. "We lean towards a rapid fire May/June 50 basis point (half a percentage point) tightening to 4.5 per cent to send the signal that accommodative cash rates are no longer appropriate for the booming Australian economy,'' Ms Beacher said.

Reply
China's manufacturing activity expanded in March for the 13th straight month according to an official gauge, a sign the recovery remains on track, though the comparison was distorted somewhat by the lingering effects of the Lunar New Year holiday, which damped activity in February.
China's Purchasing Managers Index rose to 55.1 last month from 52.0 in February, according to Thursday's edition of the China Information News, a newspaper backed by the National Bureau of Statistics, which jointly issues the data each month.

Forex Forum

The Global-View Forex Forum is the hub for currency trading on the web. Founded in 1996, it was the original forex forum and is still the place where forex traders around the globe come 24/7 looking for currency trading ideas, breaking forex news, fx trading rumors, fx flows and more. This is where you can find a full suite of forex trading tools, including a complete fx database, forex chart points, live currency rates, and live fx charts. In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.

FX Trading

Global-View also offers a full fx trading chart gallery that includes fx pairs, such as the EURUSD, commodities, stocks and bonds. In a fx trading world where markets are integrated, the chart gallery is a valuable trading tool. Look for updates on the Forex Forum when the chart gallery is updated.

Forex Blog

Global-View.com also offers a forex blog, where articles of interest for currency trading are posted throughout the day. The forex blog articles come from outside sources, including forex brokers research as well as from the professionals at Global-View.com. This forex blog includes the Daily Forex View, Market Chatter and technical forex blog updates.
