SYD.... it looks credible indeed.

I took and oath to the Queen.... so that's a bit difficult for me.

She must have been under duress from Blair who would have threatened to abolished the Monarchy.

He should hang... slowly.

Good night !

BOD or SOB

Entry: Target: Stop:

We want to test a new feature and would like your feedback and participation. More than half the battle is to find the strong side to trade and this is a BOD (bid on dips) or SOB (sell on blips) bias + give a reason and/or level. You can have a different bias to what someone posts or can even have times when both work.

This can be done for any currency and anyone can star a nejw BOD or SOB thread. The bias can change during the day based on news or price action. I think this could be a great addition. Add your bias when you come in and read this - it is a beta test

Example:

SOB bias today while below 1,2800 or 1.2820. With the ECB and Italy and Spain auctions ahead, eurusd upside should be limited on Wednesday.

SYD. Hi !

they had to virtually give them away to get bums on seats - infact he should be done for treason A swift trial and a hanging

They would literally be 'Bums' on seats.... he makes me sick.

Still... to be fair, we were speaking of Margaret Thatcher the other day and her daughter is 'barking' and her son should be garrotted.

He walked free after planning a coup in some small African country... which would have made him fabulously wealthy.. now about 35 high end mercenaries (good fellas... ex spec-op) are doing life in Zimbabwe.

There but for the grace of God...

Tony Blair secretly repealed the treason laws, hidden in the Crime and Disorder Act, and the Queen signed it in 1998, saving both their necks.

Labour wanted mass immigration to make UK more multicultural, says former adviser

maintain the rage and save Australia from Labor and Green...saw this from an article. Been very quiet on the Political front lately......calm b4 the storm???...

Wind and solar power, corn ethanol, and electric vehicles are not infant industries in need of support. They are perennially inferior industries that only still exist in their current forms because of a constant stream of "green gold." That stream is slowly drying up, thankfully. The only way to achieve the very admirable goal of transforming society into an energy-efficient space is to eliminate all of the subsidies that are currently directed at green energy and clean technology while increasing taxes on the things we are trying to minimize, such as gasoline consumption and plastic bags. That would force everyone to innovate, compete, and win or lose according to merit...

French Election Could Lead to the Next “Eurocrisis”
    Reply
As the European crisis has come to unfold, we have seen Eurozone governments receive votes of no-confidence because of their inability to solve financial crisis and new governments installed. It happened to both Greece and Italy. But to be honest, these members aren’t that pivotal. They’re the “bailoutees.”

Disagreement between Germany and France on the direction of the Eurozone would be catastrophic.

AUD/USD and NZD/USD outlook next 24 hours: There’s little of note on the local calendars today, tomorrow evening’s ECB meeting the next major to watch for. The probably corrective rallies in AUD and NZD retain momentum. AUD’s immediate overhead resistance is at 1.0385 and any break of that would usher 1.0500. NZD should struggle above 0.8000.

It's every debtor's dream. When asked for a loan, the bank not only agrees, but actually pays the borrower for their patronage. It sounds like a fairy tale, as though the laws of the market economy had been suspended. But on Monday it really happened.

The debtor in this case was the German government, which borrowed €3.9 billion ($5 billion) for the next six months at the unbelievable interest rate of -0.01 percent. Even the German Finance Agency was stunned. "This has never happened before," a spokesperson said.

Its policy of capping the rise of the Swiss franc against the euro will more than likely come under attack now that its chairman, Philipp Hildebrand, has resigned.

Not only will investors want proof that Hildebrand's temporary successor, Thomas Jordan, is as keen to defend the policy as he was, but they will also want confirmation that the policy still holds with the euro so weak.

Hildebrand's resignation in a scandal arising from a currency trade could not have come at a worse time.

the most salty part about Lew for me is the fact that for many he is seen as an observing Jew, the Ten Commandments mentions about DO NOT STEAL, so most probably there was no act of stealing there in citi. at least, I wish there was no act of stealing.

In particular, the Citigroup fund run by Lew, Citi’s Alternative Investments, invested heavily in the hedge fund of John Paulson, “who made billions off the deterioration of the housing industry by making bearish bets on securities tied to home mortgages — particularly subprime home mortgages.”...................................

Lew’s unit “lost as much as billions of dollars in 2008 as its bets turned sour. In the first quarter of 2008 alone the unit lost $509 million; the company stopped publicly disclosing the unit’s individual numbers soon thereafter, but the part of the company that absorbed Alternative Investments lost $20.1 billion in 2008, according to the bank’s filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.”

For his work at Citigroup, work that included betting on the housing collapse, Lew received a salary of $1.1 million. After Citigroup received its $45 billion taxpayer bailout, Lew — two weeks before joining the Obama administration — received another $900,000 from Citigroup as a bonus. This was revealed only in 2010; in 2009, when Lew first joined the administration as a State Department official, both he and the administration refused to say if he had received a post-bailout bonus from Citigroup

EUR/USD continues to probe the 1.28 handle during the New York session. Dealers are getting nervous ahead of Thursday's ECB decision and wondering which way the event might push the euro. The ECB is expected to press governments to step up their efforts to tackle the euro zone crisis as it leaves its key rates on hold for now . The pair could continue its squeeze higher in the short term, given recent CFTC data showing a record number of short positions in the euro. For the moment, resistance is being seen on the approach to 1.2850.

I'm sure the so-called pros know so much more than we could ever comprehend here (even if they can't generate better returns) but for my two cents I'd say the best indicator is your psychological makeup.

Technical tools are admittedly fun to tinker with but they are like anything else. Depending on your paradigm everything works and doesn't work, all at the same time. Knowing what to do and why you do it when it is in agreement with your natural style is paramount. All IMVHO of course.

Corzine Eyes Trump Building for Wall Street Return

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Exiled from Goldman Sachs(GS_), New Jersey's Statehouse and, recently MF Global, Jon Corzine may find a new home on Wall Street.

The former head of now defunct MF Global may be looking to rent office space in Donald Trump-owned 40 Wall Street and with the brokerage firm John Carris Investments, according to reports from the Wall Street Journal.

According to the Trump web site, 40 Wall Street tenants "represent the pinnacle of New York City in their international prestige and power."
A new abode on Wall Street could be useful for Corzine as he faces scrutiny over the bankruptcy of MF Global and the $1.2 billion in client funds that are reportedly missing. It would also be an unglamarous return to Wall Street for the former Goldman co-head who worked from a limousine during his 1999 ouster, and who Vanity Fair reports was looking to buy a European chateau in the weeks prior to MF's collapse

While prosecutors and regulators have jointly conducted dozens of depositions with former and current employees, a senior official in the Chicago office of MF Global recently declined to meet with the federal authorities, people briefed on the investigation said.

That official, Edith O’Brien, a treasurer at MF Global, is considered a “person of interest” in the investigation, the people said....................

While Ms. O’Brien’s testimony could prove crucial, investigators lack access to other important sources that could help unravel the mystery surrounding the missing money. The potential impediments to the case include the lack of access to certain internal documents at MF Global. The firm has withheld the e-mails and other documents from investigators on the grounds of attorney-client privilege.

Louis Freeh, the trustee overseeing the bankruptcy proceedings of MF Global, has not waived the legal provision, which shields records from examination by law enforcement.

The trustee’s office said they have not received any complaints from investigators, and would be “inclined to waive privilege” if it were hampering the investigation.

That depends on which type of muslim you ask....those in the real world or those in their ivory tower-fruit loop - rich and backed by Oil money lifestyle....with 2 laws...one for rich and other for poor.

Technically everything in this world is risky so muslim and Islamic people have sinned and should not participate....go tell that to Prince Allaweed...+ scores of others in the race horse world. Wonder what their thoughts on Global Warming....maybe should issue FATWA on Global Warming because its a risky proposition and should Jihad against Al Gore and those nation who believes in the ability to Alter the Universe environment.....anyway that is my rant for this week....should google David Lettermans you tube on FATWA...humourous....

Resently read about "gharar" - situation forbidden for Islamic finance - when someone makes agreement without having entire influence on the result (its subject). The question for Islamic traders (if they read) - is trading CFDs regarded as "gharar" by right Islamic believers?

    MF Global & Government-Sponsored Theft
    Reply
The United States financial situation, which appears to be insoluble at the moment, could end up dwarfing the euro debt crisis.

It is hard to trust our financial system when we see the theft of millions of customer dollars as in the current MF Global scandal. The disappearing $1.2 billion is only part of the story.

Regulators in charge of investigating MF Global were supposed to safeguard clients money. Instead the regulators shut customers out of their segregated accounts, basically stole the money, and used it to pay off creditors like JP Morgan

We have a corrupt, crony way of dealing with our problems that won’t work. Theft of customer assets should not be the answer to keeping the big banks afloat. Capitalism isn’t the problem, but government-sponsored theft and cronyism is a problem

By FXEmpire.com – The EUR/USD pair was able to record some gains on Monday after the flow of upbeat fundamentals from the euro-area region, and also after Germany was able to sell bonds on a negative yield; however, after the European Central Bank announcement, which explained that European Banks’ overnight deposits at the ECB climbed again to all-time record, the pair surrendered some of the gains on fears an interbank lending freeze could hurt the financial sector and the region’s economy.

Good Morning to all.. after many month of being very happy in longs EURCHF , think we have may be another 4-5 weeks left in the range 12050-12250. Overall , the breakdown could be very dramatic to the downside after. The option market is obviously totally one sided and a break of 12000 will give the next 30 pct move this year. The SNB power has gone to very low already a while back and the pressure politically is not only for a lower CHF... the EURO selling procedure will hit to us SWISS very hard soon again.. have fun and thanks for all contributors here in this forum !

We did a double take when we read the following lead sentence from a just released Bloomberg report on what is about to take place in China:

"China’s stocks regulator will “actively” push pension and housing funds to begin investing in capital markets, and encourage long-term investors such as insurers and corporate pension plans to buy more shares."

To paraphrase Lewis Black - we will repeat this, because it bears repeating - "China’s stocks regulator will “actively” push pension and housing funds to begin investing in capital markets, and encourage long-term investors such as insurers and corporate pension plans to buy more shares."

40 Wall Street: John Corzine's Latest Office Space?
    Reply
    Reports the WSJ:
" Jon S. Corzine, who resigned as chief executive of MF Global Holdings Ltd. shortly after the securities firm collapsed in October, recently has been looking for office space in Manhattan, according to people familiar with the situation. One of the locations he seems interested in: brokerage firm John Carris Investments, at 40 Wall St., around the corner from the New York Stock Exchange, these people said. Employees at the small firm have been told that the former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. chairman and New Jersey governor might drop by, one person familiar with the situation said."

How Wall Street Turned a Crisis Into a Cartel
    Reply
Almost 65 years ago, in 1947, the U.S. government sued 17 leading Wall Street investment banks, charging them with effectively colluding in violation of antitrust laws.

In its complaint -- which was front-page news at the time - -- the Justice Department alleged that these firms had created “an integrated, overall conspiracy and combination” starting in 1915 “and in continuous operation thereafter, by which” they developed a system “to eliminate competition and monopolize ‘the cream of the business’ of investment banking.

The Neverending MF Global Story: Regulators Block The Truth
    Reply
Instead of looking out for MF Global investors – and customers who are still waiting for their money – it looks like regulators and the bankruptcy trustees are busy suppressing information. Instead of full transparency, regulators and the trustees are holding onto crucial details that might tell us all who was asleep at the wheel when the broker/dealer and futures commission merchant (FCM) headed over the cliff.

Investor sentiment towards the single currency ended 2011 very much on hold.

European banks were being offered funds by the European Central Bank. Greece was in negotiations to repay less to private sector bond holders. And, the euro itself was still benefiting at times when global risk sentiment recovered.
