Okay admittedly we are just about 24 hours from the Lunar New Year banquet the Fed served up “talk easy” to us but it is hard not to notice that stocks have turned over some, bonds have put in at least a temporary top and the dollar is firmer. The one market that seems to be smiling with a full belly is gold. However

On Jamie Dimon's Track Record Of Predicting Greek Outcomes
Reply
The US market appears modestly enthused by earlier remarks from Jamie Dimon (who ironically is of Greek descent) who told CNBC that "The direct impact of a Greek default is almost zero."
Note the phrase "Greek default" because it takes us back to that long ago June of 2011 when Jamie Dimon was again giving predictions about events in Greece. In this case, the summary goes to Bloomberg, which penned a piece titled: "JPMorgan’s Dimon Says Greece Won’t Default, Australian Reports."
So we should suddenly believe that Jamie Dimon was correct?

assuming the whole idea behind the Greek "crisis" is shock therapy economics, then there is obvious step to support that and it's much weaker currency the coming medium-long term. Yearly range should/would be something between 2.5k-4k pips so that means loads of top and bottom picking chances ahead to confirm this theory, it's still a theory for now :-)

AUD/USD and NZD/USD outlook next 24 hours: The Australian data calendar is empty but NZ has the trade balance, government accounts, and RBNZ Governor Bollard’s speech to watch for. AUD’s upward trend remains intact, the next upside target 1.0750 (27 Oct high). NZD’s upward also remains intact, resistance nearby at 0.8243 and an overbought condition developing possible early warnings the rally may be ripe.

FOREX FOCUS: Fed Makes Dollar Even More Of A Buy
Reply
(Dow Jones via eFXnews) That was a buy, not a sell, signal from the Fed.
On the face of it, the dollar's sell off on the Fed's decision to adopt a 2% inflation target and preserve its ultra-easy monetary policy "until at least late 2014" was pretty predictable.
But, since when were currencies just driven by interest rate predictions?
And, since when did a central bank predict its policy quite so far in advance?
And, since when was the Fed likely to hint at higher rates, send the dollar higher and put the country's nascent economic recovery at risk?
For starters, look at this ......

Newt Vows To Establish Colony On Moon
Appealing to residents of the state’s economically struggling “Space Coast,” Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich promised to have a permanent U.S. base on the moon by the end of his second term as president.
To cheers and applause in an area that has suffered major job losses since the cancellation of the space shuttle, Gingrich said, “By the end of my second term, we will have the first permanent base on the moon and it will be American.
“We will have commercial near-Earth activities that include science, tourism, and manufacturing, and are designed to create a robust industry precisely on the model of the development of the airlines of the 1930s, because it is in our interest to acquire so much experience in space that we clearly have a capacity that the Chinese and the Russians will never come anywhere close to matching.”
He also said that by the end of 2020, the country would have “the first continuous propulsion system in space” capable of allowing people travel to Mars. “I am sick of being told we have to be timid, and I am sick of being told we have to be limited in technologies that are 50 years old,” the former House speaker told the crowd at a “space roundtable” he hosted at a Holiday Inn.
Responding to rival Mitt Romney’s criticism of his proposal for a lunar settlement, Gingrich said, “When we have 13,000 Americans living on the moon, they can petition to become a state. And here’s the difference between romantics and so-called practical people. I wanted every young American to say to themselves, â€I could be one of those 13,000. I could be a pioneer. I need to study science and math and engineering. I need to learn how to be a technician. I can be a part of building a bigger, better future.’ ”
Gingrich said he has had a “deep passion” for space travel since he was boy and read Missiles and Rockets. He also said he was fascinated by the Sputnik, the first artificial satellite to orbit the Earth.

AMERICAN NATIONS, Colin Woodward
______________________________________________
In the dark hours of the wars of liberation, the Continental Congress had no money to pay salaries to their
soldiers or to compensate the farmers for requisitioned food and livestock. Instead Congress gave all these people
government IOUs. This practice continued for years until, under the financial administration fo the notoriously
unethical banker Robert Morris, the state of Pennsylvania announced that it would no longer accpt the congressional
IOUs as payment for taxes. With no other money in circulation in much of the countryside, many poor families had
not choice but to sell the notes for whatever they could get, and wealthy speculators pruchased them for one-sixth
to one-fortieth of their face value.
Soon just over 400 individuals held over 96 percent of Pennsylvanias's war debt, and nearly half was controlled by
just 28 men, most of whom were Robert Morris's friends and business partners. Shortly thereafter, Morris and his
protege Alexander Hamilton took control fo federal financial policy, rigging it so as to lieterally turn their
friends' worthless paper into silver and gold.
Under Morris and Hamilton, the federal government would buy back tthe bonds for face value, plus 6 percent
interest, paid in precious metals raised by assesssing new federal excise taxes designed to fall most heavily on
the poor people who'd been forced to take the worthless congressional script in the first place.
But wait--there's more.

To the upside a break of 1.3207 and hold above 1.3173 is required. Some supply into 1.3248-58 area which shouldn't be too troublesome, for 1.3285-90 and final exit 1.3315-75.

Those who mocked the "lies" of the market are now open mouth dazed.
Gold is still very cheap and likely attracts investors which never even thought before about putting money on it.
I placed yesterday a chart which is too simple to be ignored, and eventually gold will move above above 2000$.
If gold is really perceived cheap, price leaps will occur sooner than later.
Nothing to do but to watch.

Finally, a bottom for home prices - MSN real estate

New Housing Task Force Will Zero In on Wall St.
Reply
After failing to produce any major prosecutions stemming from the housing crisis, an expanded federal task force is planning a new tack, cracking down on financial firms suspected of improperly bundling home loans into securities for investors, officials said Wednesday.
The Obama administration tried to instill confidence in the effort by installing Eric T. Schneiderman, the New York state attorney general who is viewed by liberal groups as a crusader against big banks, as one of the leaders of a new unit within the Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force. But skeptics still doubted the sincerity of the new effort.

Fed Signals That a Full Recovery Is Years Away
Reply
The announcement means that the Fed does not expect the economy to complete its recovery from the 2008 crisis over the next three years.
Moreover, interest rates on many kinds of borrowing already are hovering near historical lows, and pushing rates down gets harder as you approach zero. And tight lending standards make it impossible for many people and businesses to get loans.

After breaking 1720-25 Res. gold may move first to 1750.
Keep in mind the Iranian issue. Oil will stop flowing not by closing the Hormuz straits, but by making tankers insurance prohibitive, or by refusal to insure.
Making a place dangerous for travel may be done by many ways.

Go Gold?

I’m going to predict you are going to see a new definition of investors in gold that, up to now, haven’t even been considered. Up to now there’s been the retail crowd and there’s been the international central bank crowd which have been the primary entities in gold....
“But you’ve never had mainstream investment, mainstream pensions, mainstream life insurance companies, mainstream health plans, which gather money looking to use a medium in order to maintain the buying power of what they’ve accomplished. This is a huge change, huge new demand, a total new definition.
You’re going to find out that public companies with significant resources, tech companies (as an example), are going to start to recognize that gold is an important part of protecting what they have. So I think you’ve identified a game-changer for corporate America and corporate global Western finance, to begin to look at gold as an alternative to the normal cash and debt instruments they would use to hedge themselves.”
What the Fed did today is they turned on the light of what will be QE to infinity.
