Looking at trading results of one trading competition, traders made extraordinary gains today. Personaly had few very good day in my real account. In my experience, good days are followed by DOUBLE bad days, so I am thinking to lower my exposure in next days as to keep gains.

SP500 may these days reach quite important sell level in ~1418 area despite not being supported there in my view. I am wondering what will journalists invent as reason if things go south - on such nice, sunny May days.

As we move from year 3 into year 4 of the Great Recession, history is showing a tremendous capacity to not just rhyme but repeat. Amnesia is everywhere; It is as if there was never any post-depression effort in the US (deepened the GD) to contain government spending and move preemptively against inflation, or similarly in Japan in the late 90’s.

My plan is to keep on winning using winning money management strategies.
I generally don't have targets. They are not needed. Best to let the profits run and run and run until the market signals time to lock.
Stops are always maintained when the pattern breaks as stated before. If the butterfly broke I would exit with small R:R loss. Instead the butterfly has proven itself yet again. No need to argue otherwise, even if you've broken out with a serious case of the crabs.

They are too slow to react and feel the discomfort when things are not going as planned. Yet still the disease of being right is far too strong and before they know it they're out of the game. Gold waiting to refuel with shorters to kick them off on ~1675 level or even 1682. If they survive enduring, they may be able to take some food out of the table @1653 and ~1625 levels. In case ~1675 is not reached shortly, mean up test failed and 1652 and lower is in the cards before up and down again. EUR is overbought against GBP and AUD and would expect it fall with gold in that case.

Good trading...

now important is whether eur/usd will continue to make paintful short squeeze. next important levels 1,3275 and 3295 still holding...I can only guess, how many big players folowed world situation bleed from 1.26+...there are a new "clients" for squeeza as well from level 1,30 after correction...cable has done at this matter enough, but eur not yet( there is the mainly amount)... market is immoral and want to do max pain...I consider short squeeze in my trade a long time and try to writte some alerts for bears when we are at low levels...but we all know, that in the future buyers at high levels (for example of equites) wil get margin calls...

To wit: "The CME Group Inc.’s Comex division recorded an unusually large transaction of 7,500 gold futures during one minute of trading at 8:31 a.m. EDT. The sale took out blocks of bids as large as 84 contracts in one fell swoop and cut prices down to $1,648.80 a troy ounce. The overall transaction was worth more than $1.24 billion

“No one who has the account size and the money to trade thousands of gold contracts would do it in one transaction, that’s just stupid,” said one trader. The collateral required to purchase 7,500 contracts is about $75.9 million in cash that the trader would have deposited with his broker.

Sorry Citi, but it was not a gold finger:

Sunnnier but still mixed skies for the EURUSD as it trades within 1.32-1.33 for the second day in a row. While within this range, 1.3250 will set the intra-day tone. This follows yesterday's break of a 6-day pattern aroiund 1.32, normally a bullish signal but focus is more on cross unwindings (e.g. EURAUD, EURGBP, etc), which are giving support, than outright moves vs. the USD.

The Bank acknowledges that the trading banks will retain part of the cut - probably 10 to 15 bps. In addition the budget surplus is likely to have a drag on growth therefore the Bank has offset this contraction with a further easing of monetary policy.

Medical experts say there is plenty of room in the stomach area of the body for surgically implanted explosives. "The surgeon would open the abdominal cavity and literally implant the explosive device in amongst the internal organs," explained Dr. Mark Melrose, a New York emergency medicine specialist.

Entry: 1679 Target: Stop: 1688

an earlier short order amended higher.

gold will go to 1678?

If you see gold at 1678, likely it will cross above 1680.

1675 is a strong Res. to breach, so 1678 will not be that easy to see.

AUDInterest Rates

This is going to be a close call. There's no doubt the Bank will cut - the question is 25 basis points or 50. The inflation figures indicate they could go 50. Employment says 25.
There's also little doubt manufacturing, retail, hospitality and education are finding it tough.
Money is pouring into the country. Last figures I saw the Australian Government had issued AUD 220 billion in bonds, AUD 180 billion of that was held by overseas parties. Commodity prices have fallen, AUD/USD less so and analysts are suggesting there will be further falls,
Looking at term deposit rates the banks and cerdit unions are fighting for every last cent. You can get 5.5% for 90 day term deposits whereas the cash rate is only 4.25%. While the market has bet the Bank will cut today the term deposit yield curve has remained stationary. I've got no doubt the banks will retain a margin its possible therefore somewhere between 10 to 15 basis points will filter through making it reasonable to go 50. Conversely except during the height of the GFC the Bank hasn't moved by 50 in over a decade, moving to that degree could spook the market.
My guess for what its worth is 25bps cut now and a clear indication of another in June.

The Global-View Forex Forum is the hub for currency trading on the web. Founded in 1996, it was the original forex forum and is still the place where forex traders around the globe come 24/7 looking for currency trading ideas, breaking forex news, fx trading rumors, fx flows and more. This is where you can find a full suite of forex trading tools, including a complete fx database, forex chart points, live currency rates, and live fx charts. In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.

FX Trading

Global-View also offers a full fx trading chart gallery that includes fx pairs, such as the EURUSD, commodities, stocks and bonds. In a fx trading world where markets are integrated, the chart gallery is a valuable trading tool. Look for updates on the Forex Forum when the chart gallery is updated.

Global-View.com also offers a forex blog, where articles of interest for currency trading are posted throughout the day. This forex blog includes the Daily Forex View, Market Chatter and technical forex blog updates.
