mkt is looking for 240k, so at least that is needed to sustain usd but avg earnings going to be much more important. 0.2 is expected. in this climate of low inflation i think a beat will be a real surprise (is anyone really looking for 0.3?) and will give the usd another leg up. if we get a 0 or 0.1 then even on a 250+ print i think dollar will ease off a bit. after bumper canada jobs last time, some give back is expected and priced in. look for the differential between the two sides today. mkt looking for weak canada and strong usd, thats how they are positioned, so a major play of the day may come on a surprise on both sides here.

I agree with you. If the world agrees with you then this recent run in USD strength will be used by foreign creditors to exit the USD and the U.S. Treasury market.
Kyle Bass is going with the idea that relative hawkishness in U.S. monetary policy compared to say Japan or the Europe will see the USD strengthen. Is he supposing real capital inflows into the U.S. or just a h.ell of a lot more carry trade? If it's just carry trade then it's not 'real' and it's reversible in a hurry.
IMVHO real capital inflows into the U.S. are just not going to happen. It's not the 1990s any more.

that is what I like about sitting at home trading - your views don't get distorted by messing with orders - and Client Flows - while they might be good for 10 points - it clouds your bigger picture views and gets you into positions you otherwise would not take.... and I for one hate to take losses for the sake of other people/client relationships.

the gr8est story I had in $yen
was one day in Asia - I bought 1.2 bio $yen -- for 8 hours it traded in an 8 point range.
I walked out the door 5 hours later in London the market was 18 big figures lower... you can look at some of the classic $yen sell-offs and that was one of them 128-110
