Mixed Risk Session. Equities Rise on Hopes Central Bank Ease to Persist. Light Calendar Week
In a light day take a look at long term monthly charts of JPY, GBP, AUD and CAD vs USD -- look at each of these from the Asian currency crisis in late '90s - the USD/CAD is breaking out as the 21mthy moves above 55 mthyema - the yen is even stronger and a 130+ fig (see MACD) is within reach in the next year
Cable is the odd man here as 21 mth ma is rising as MACD crosses down - 1.48 is doable but choppy
Long term look might mean interest rates finally rule

Reclassifying the Internet in the US
The point that is missed. It's not charging more for a faster service. It's the fact that many cannot purchase Broadband access at any price. And many, many are forced to pay ridiculous prices for Capped monthly bandwidth allotments, by wireless providers because there is no other service available.

Reclassifying the Internet in the US
Internet providers should be subject to free competition - anybody can use your cable if they pay you -- the US consumer is a victim of tech scam - xyz company will give you upload =download speed, abc company will give you high speed transmission for $XX more -- light travels at the same speed everywhere in the known universe so these companies are not giving anything away, merely charging more because of monopoly

In the statement, and a video on the White House website, Mr. Obama urged the Federal Communications Commission to adopt the strictest set of neutrality rules possible and to treat consumer broadband service as a public utility, similar to telephone or power companies.
(video link)
Tom Wheeler, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, on Monday said he welcomed the presidents input and said he agreed that the Internet should remain free and open. But he did not say whether he would fully support reclassifying broadband as a utility.
Reaction from some of the biggest broadband companies was swift and negative.

EUR/CHF is getting even closer to the Swiss National Bank's 1.20 floor, which has not been seen since September 2012. Analysts reiterate that if the Swiss Gold Initiative referendum on Nov 30th were to pass, the SNB could be forced to choose between buying gold or giving up on the peg.

maybe it is just a quiet day etc .. for sure
but also today the Chinese/Russian energy deal stuff as well - where I assume they will be bypassing the USD.
"China and Russia have signed energy cooperation agreements on the sidelines of the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Beijing.
The deals, which include a second major supply route, were signed Sunday by Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping. The route will supply Russian natural gas to China along a western route. In May, the two sides signed a $400 billion deal for an eastern supply route."

the nikkei is actually up a few points - while the $yen has been holding around the lows
so you would imagine $yen will move up 10-20 pts and some of these other things will fall 10 pips or so.
Asia seems to be thinking that xxx/jpy is overbought and looking for some correction .. so as I mentioned earlier tomorrows open should be very easy pickings as to direction.

USD/JPY - 114.38.. Dlr opened in NZ around where it left off in NY Friday (around 114.62), however, renewed usd's broad-based weakness following a weak closing Friday pressured price in NZ/AUS, the pair fell 1-tick below Friday's 114.26 low at Tokyo open but lack of follow-through selling quickly lifted price.
Despite the Dow & S&P 500 indices touching record closing highs for the 3rd day in a row, intra-day weakness in the Nikkei (currently down 121 points at 16759) as well as falling U.S. treasury yields suggests dlr may well have formed a temporary high at Friday's fresh 7-year peak at 115.62.
Offers are tipped at 114.60/65 n more above with stops touted above 115.00.
On the downside, initial bids are noted at 114.25-20 and more below at 114.10-00 with stops reported below there, suggesting consolidation with downside bias is in store.

if you look at where the MA lie in this market
you have resistance now @114.78 and support @113.60
with this market obviously so dependent on Stock Markets in the bigger picture will be interesting to see where we open tomorrow to really gauge strength/weakness..... as to date we have never really threatened any trailing s/l under the market .. and now we know anyone short has their s/l above 115.55... which seems to be out of reach for now.

Overall NFP was on the low side - and rather than breaking 115.50 we have fallen back into the range as well as eurusd..... kind of uninspiring really but you can see how these markets are linked.
GOLD has actually been the leader through this - I noticed it moving 3-5 minutes before the other markets - so will be watching for this as we move through the week.
