energy makes up 5% of inflation indices but the price drop is so big it distorts the index -- but the price doesn't mean that policy should be built around one minor component

if the entertainment component rose by 40% should the Fed tighten

"Glazyev is arguably going no holds barred. He is in favor of barring Russian companies from using foreign currency (which makes sense); taxing the conversion of rubles to foreign currencies (same); banning foreign loans to Russian firms (depending if they are not in US dollars or euro); and – the smoking gun - requiring Russian companies that have Western loans to default."

funny how Sub $30 in Crude brings out the "financial ANALists"

so far today, I've seen 2. WAR between Iran and Saudis---Oil to $500!!!!!!

And then another Oil back to $100...can't recall the reason.

But I guess when The Main Stream Press and the Financial Press and CNBC(Comedians with Stocks Drinking Coffee), spend INK and Screen Time schooling in How to Spend Your PowerBall Winnings...and How to pick a Lottery Number so You Won't ahve to SHARE the Prize.

Then Oil at $100, or $500...well the ODDS are alot less that 292Million to 1...........So I calls my Broker and SEZ BUY ME SOME OIL.

You can't cure deflation w/ interest rates -- there has been a lot of silliness about productivity "declining" but in a service based post industrial economy it is no longer a valid measure of ANYTHING - most jobs in the US are based on regulation (i.e. TAXES) so the only way to free up labor resource is to reduce regulation -- Niall Ferguson, a good historian (with whom I disagree w/ on nearly everything economic) has made this point in his new epistle

What ifs? What if this is just the fall out from the Lehman Brothers crisis of 2008 (which had been previously been delayed by mad money printing by crazy Central Banks?). All that they supposedly saved us from is now upon us, with interest. FWIW this started in the U.S. and - while valiant efforts have been made to export it to the rest of the world (thank you so much for the European bond market crisis) - the centre of the storm is (once again) the USA. How does that impact the election I wonder.

Update Time: 13 Jan 2016 08:18 GMT

USD/JPY - 118.33
Although dollar's intra-day breach of yesterday's high of 118.08 (New York) confirms recent decline has indeed made a temporary low at Monday's fresh 4-1/2 month trough at 116.69, near term loss of momentum should cap price below chart resistance at 118.85 (last Friday's high) and broad outlook remains bearish for another selloff later.

On the downside, below 117.62 would be the first signal a top is made and yield subsequent weakness towards 117.19/23 support area.

Update Time: 13 Jan 2016 02:09 GMT

EUR/USD - 1.0834
Euro's erratic rise from last Tuesday's low of 1.0711 to 1.0970 on Monday signals fall from December's peak at 1.1060 has ended and despite subsequent retreat to 1.0820 in yesterday's New York session.
As long as support at 1.0803 holds, choppy trading with upside bias remains but a daily close above 1.0970 needed to encourage for a re-test of 1.1060 later.

On the downside, below 1.0803 would prolong choppy sideways trading but support at 1.0711 should remain intact.

13 Jan 2016 02:00GMT

USD/JPY -....... Dlr moved in a volatile fashion in directionless Tuesday's session. Although price re-tested Monday's 118.03 in Asia, selloff in the Nikkei sent price lower to 117.23 before rising to 118.08 in New York morning but later fell to 117.38.
Having said that, recovery in the Dow pushed price higher in late New York and price climbed back to above 118.00 level in Tokyo morning on Wednesday.

Today's focus in Asia will be on the release of China's trade data at 02:00GMT. Market expects the trade surplus in December to narrow slightly to 53.0B compare to 54.1B in preceding month.
Later in New York session, investors soulud pay attention to the speeches from Fed's Rosengren n Fed's Evans, then the release of Fed's Beige Book.

At the moment, bids are reported at 117.90-80 and more at 117.60-50 with stops below there, whilst offers are noted at 118.20-30 and then 118.40-50 with stops above there.

In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.
