Sorry to deliver this news, but your application to the Edar Bernays Undergratuate School of Propaganda has been rejected.
We don't usually comment directly to applicants, however in this case we feel compelled to attach a somewhat personnal response.
Moving the first letter of the name of your product from a V to a B does not move it up on the scale of Consumer Desirability.
The lame name change that you have proposed will not induce the consumer to purchase this product as a NEW NEW THING, or at the very least an improvement on the failure of the Volt to inspire 'cult like' purchasing, as companies such as Apple have achieved(yr footnote 1.37)
Be that as it may, the next opportunity to apply for this Graduate Level Course will be in June of 2017.
We appreciate your interest in our program.

Throwing the word "credibility" around about the Fed is mistaken use, if critical of any CB or policymaker I think the better term is competence -- all last year the Fed talked about rate hikes but until the end failed to deliver -- failure to move earlier is a competence issue not credibility - credibility comes into play if the "expectation of further hikes" gets binned // the recently released transcripts show that the Fed early struggled with shrinking the balance sheet (exit the Money Swamp) but instead decided to make it worse -- that's competence issues not credibility issues// we'll see if they have a plan or are again making it up as they go along

Unconfirmed reports that Saudi Arabia has offered to cut oil output by up to 5% if Russia does the same should be taken seriously, if only because the two countries each produce around 10 million barrels per day.. The jump in the oil price on Thursday to $35 per barrel is also consistent with the forecasts of a V-shaped recovery this year. Nonetheless, economists remain sceptical that anything tangible will come of the latest calls for coordinated action.
"We do not believe that Saudi Arabia has been deliberately pursuing a strategy of flooding the world with oil to drive out higher-cost producers elsewhere. The bulk of the recent increase in OPEC supply has actually come from Iraq, reflecting improvements in local conditions. Nonetheless, to the extent that the wealthier Gulf producers are tolerating lower prices to protect market share, there are already plenty of signs that this policy is working", says Capital Economics.
The number of active drilling rigs in the US has collapsed and shale production there is now falling. What's more, despite all the headlines about how lower prices are a sign of weakness in the global economy, demand for oil accelerated in the second half of last year. This suggests that oil prices will recover further of their own accord, without the need for a deal between key producers.
There would also be major questions over compliance. Even if Saudi Arabia were ready to change tack and agree to coordinated output cuts, it is not obvious that Russia would be a reliable partner.
Even if a high level deal could be done (despite the poor relations between the two countries) it is not clear that Russia could deliver. Indeed, Russia is reported to have reneged on a similar deal in 2001. Part of the problem is that Russia is in recession and has a large number of competing oil firms who are presumably each still keen to sell as much oil as possible at almost any price. This contrasts with the relative wealth of Saudi Arabia and the near-monopoly position of Saudi Aramco. What's more, Russian companies cannot easily turn the taps off and on at this time of the year due to the harsh winter weather. Nor do they have much spare storage capacity.
"The upshot is that a sustained recovery in oil prices will have to be built on stronger foundations than comments from one or two Russian officials. Our end-2016 forecast of a rebound to $45 relies instead on cuts in non-OPEC supply, led by falls in US production, and on a further improvement in global demand. And for now, we are sticking with our forecast of $30 for the end of the current quarter", added Capital Economics.

BREAKING NEWS
"When OPEC started the price war last year the Saudis expected that the US producers would fall over quickly their costs were too high.
But they didnt collapse because we now know that about 50 per cent of the US oil production was forward sold at high prices. These forward sales are rapidly running out and during the next few months if oil stays down we are set for extensive US closures and major loan losses.
But there will be a production cut, which makes the shorters nervous, and many who have made a fortune in the last year are saying that it is time to close out positions. As the oil price rises that short covering will gather momentum. The big snow dump on the US east coast accelerated the trend."

In that article a most interesting part is: "Iraqs prime minister, Haider al-Abadi, said in Davos that his country is selling its crude for $22 a barrel, and half of this covers production costs. Its impossible to run the country, to be honest, to sustain the military, to sustain jobs, to sustain the economy, he said."

"Draghi vowed not to lower the ECBs inflation target yesterday, stating that Meeting our objective is about credibility. If a central bank sets an objective, it can't just move the goalposts when it misses it."
What this is about is keeping the USD from going under. The fictionally low inflation rate, the unbelievably low interest rates in Europe, the various 'policy measures' and scandals and printing in Japan. All to one end: keeping the latest in a failed series of reserve currencies from imploding under a massive debt, massive military budget and an absence of foreign capital inflows. In Japan they have bribery (and sometimes politicians meeting odd deaths) in Europe we have people who have studied at the MIT and worked for Goldman Sachs. But when a system gets stretched to its limits something has got to give.
And that's where we are. A surrealist disinformation campaign from our Central Bankers and Politicians and financial markets which are gearing up for a hissy fit like nothing else. gl gt

Confidence? You have to be kidding me.
What made me laugh was Draghi blabbing on about how a Central Bank can't just abandon its inflation target. AS IF ANYONE believes the inflation data. I mean really Mister Draghi make up the inflation data using who-know's-what informations and then invent a target for that completely FICTIONAL data and consequently get all serious about how a Central Bank (in this North Korean environment we are living in now) has to stick to its arbitrary target. Are you serious? No, just a little soldier doing your absurd duty in a surreal environment. Either that or you're out of your mind. Maybe both.

EURUSD 1,0916 (range so far 1.0870-1.0927)
EURUSD supported as long as 1 and 4 hour trendlines stay intact (see chart - currently 1.0863).
For those betting on 1.10, you need to see a firm hourly close above 1.0962. Otherwise, focus stays on 1.09
For those selling, don't overstay as long as the trendlines are valid and it holds 1.09xx.
Note EUR crosses more of a driver than the USD, such as EURGBP which has whipped on both sides today,

USD/JPY - 118.89
The greenback's rally yesterday and subsequent breach of last Friday's high at 118.88 signals the corrective upmove from last Wednesday's fresh 1-year trough at 115.97 has once again resumed and consolidation with upside bias would be seen for gain towards 119.08/10, then 119.17/20, however, loss of momentum would keep price below 119.46/50 today and bring retreat later.
On the downside, only below 117.66 would indicate a temporary top has been made and turn outlook bearish for a stronger retracement towards 117.30/40.

EUR/USD - 1.0894
Although the single currency climbed in New York afternoon session on Wednesday as usd fell after Fed unchanged rate decision as widely expected, dovish accompanied Fed statement should weigh on dollar majors today.
However, a firm rise above 1.0921 res is needed to signal an upside break of the daily price swings inside the 1-week long established broad range of 1.0921-1.0766 has taken place, as such move would suggests correction from Jan's high at 1.0985 has ended, then euro would ratchet higher towards this res level next week.
On the downside, failure to penetrate 1.0921 decisively and subsequent break of initial sup area at 1.0853/60 would 'prolong' aforesaid choppy consolidation, then risk is seen for subsequent weakness towards 1.0819 but 1.0789/94 should remain intact.

AceTrader Jan 28: Intra-day Market Moving News and Views (USD/JPY)

28 Jan 2016 01:12GMT
USD/JPY - ..... Reuters just reported Japan's retail sales fell more than expected in December, data showed on Thursday, suggesting that sluggish household spending will keep fourth-quarter economic growth subdued.
While many analysts expect the Bank of Japan to hold off on additional monetary easing at its two-day rate review ending on Friday, the weak data will likely keep policymakers under pressure to do more to reflate a fragile economic recovery.
Retail sales fell 1.1 percent in December from a year earlier to mark the second straight month of declines, more than a median market forecast for a 0.1 percent decline. Japan's economy has emerged from recession but growth remains subdued as sluggish emerging market demand and slow wage growth weigh on exports and private consumption.
Policymakers hope that the windfall from falling energy prices will nudge households to boost spending, though some analysts warn that the economy may have suffered a contraction in October-December on weak household spending.
The global market rout has also heightened pressure on the BOJ to expand monetary stimulus, though many central bankers prefer to stand pat this week as they cling to the view Japan's economy continues to recover moderately.
The retail sales data foreshadow a run of indicators due on Friday, including inflation and household spending.

Outside of EURUSD 1,08-1.09 remains tough so only a close above it would change that view.
