- Markets have remained cautious into the final U.S. Presidential debate this evening in Las Vegas. I feel the debate is unlikely to change the course of the election. Trump will likely be aggressively on the offensive and Clinton will play her hand cautiously. The Republican party leadership is focused on trying to salvage the House and Senate races.
- Thursday sees another active calendar with one of the major highlights the ECB policy board meeting outcome. Wednesday saw U.S. Housing statistics which were mixed with Housing Starts unexpectedly falling sharply. Earlier Chinese GDP and U.K. Employment were positive.
- Bond yields remain depressed following mixed September CPI data and recent Fed comments. Both the Fed and BOE have started to make it clear that they would ignore an inflation overshoot to get their economies growing again.
- On Friday Fed Chair Yellen sent no policy signals in a key speech. Indirectly, she seemed to be preparing the markets for a sustained period of above target inflation. Keep your ears perked for more. Yellen and the BOE's Carney appear to be on the same page on policy.

In an act that some have said reeks of symbolism, the tour bus of the Clinton campaign was caught dumping human waste literally on the street, or as some less politically correct commentators have dubbed the incident, "the Hillary campaign caught censored on main street America."
As a result, Hillary Clinton's campaign bus is being investigated after police in Lawrenceville, Georgia, received multiple reports of Hillary�s �Forward Together� tour bus illegally dumped human waste into a storm drain along Grayson Highway on Tuesday morning.
When police arrived at the scene, they were greeted with a foul odor and remnants of used toilet paper scattered across the ground. What the campaign dumped at the scene was so disgusting that a HAZMAT team was called to come in to clean up the mess.
In addition to the local police, the Gwinnett County Stormwater Management and the State Environment Protection Department are participating in the investigation. CBS46 asked the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the party organization working in tandem with the campaign to get Hillary elected, prompting an apology by the DNC.

John I do get your point. The thing is this 'deflation' narrative is bogus, the inflation headline is meaningless and markets (such as the Oil market) are manipulated for geopolitical reasons, so they are in no way a reflection of the strength of supply and demand or of anything else for that matter. That said, a rising oil price will show up in a rising headline rate of inflation. Things are surreal right now. So inflation is anything 'they' say it is and interest rates are set for geopolitical reasons first and foremost. And I think that is the only point of view which will save you from costly trading mistakes. :-)
Still 'they' are losing control of the narrative. Big time.

Higher oil prices are a transfer of wealth from consumers to oil producing countries and to their own governments because higher gasoline prices means higher vat or sales tax .
The consumer is the big loser and shops and restaurants will feel the pain .

John I think the whole inflation narrative is a giant scam. If they are looking at headline inflation then rising oil prices puts inflation up. And in the 1970s and the 1980s they hiked rates like h.ell because of rising oil prices. With all the negative consequences that we know. The headline rate of inflation is ANYTHING you want it to be and IMVHO it means nothing at all as a data point. It's just an alibi.
That said their alibi now looks a little weaker than previously.

Lawrenceville police are investigating a claim that involves a Democratic National Committee tour bus illegally dumping human waste in between campaign stops.
