In its attempt to redirect the public's attention from its historic failure to deliver unbiased, objective, factual reporting in the context of the presidential election in which virtually every single mainstream media outlet was revealed (courtesy of the hacked Podesta emails) and acted as a Public Relations arm for the Clinton campaign, said media has opened a new can of worms by ushering in the topic of "fake news" - a purposefully vague, undefined term meant to deflect and scapegoat by "exposing" propaganda websites, which in the latest incarnation of the narrative, are now allegedly serving to further Russian propaganda in the US.

As we reported earlier, none other than the Washington Post - a company owned by Jeff Bezos, who for the past year has been involved in a famous media spat with president-elect Donald Trump - pounced on a list created by a website that was created (according to its whois profile) on August 21 using godaddy.com as registrar and had its first tweet on November 2, and which among others, lists Drudge Report and Zero Hedge as representatives of "Russian propaganda." This is how the "scientists" at the Goebbels-esque "PropOrNot" describe their qualifications in determining and recommending which websites are fit to be burned (starting with a plea for investigations by the Obama administration) in a post "fake news" world:

Fed Chair Yellen Confirms Rate Hike
Markets are adjusting to the reality of a Trump Presidency, however a few of his second-tier opponents have started a campaign for a vote recount in a few of the key battleground states. These create a little uncertainty but are unlikely to change the overall results. At this juncture, Hillary Clinton is not behind the effort. Otherwise, President-elect Trump is working hard at hiring his new government. Under the U.S. system, most of the key jobs must be refilled when a new President is installed.

Finally (and no this is not Friday Humor), this is how the scientists described Zero Hedge...

ZeroHedge qualifies as “dark gray” propaganda, systematically deceiving its civilian audiences for foreign political gain.
Articles from ZeroHedge are frequently reposted by other sites, but appear on ZeroHedge first — the site’s authors are driving and shaping the stories, not merely reacting to them. An analysis of web traffic patterns and linking backs this up: ZeroHedge has a prominent place within the network of pro-Russia news and propaganda outlets.
We at PropOrNot rate it: Five Shadies.

"Five Shadies"?!

We can only hope that this kind of desperate narrative spewing only accelerates the demise of the mainstream media's efforts to maintain credibility and control of the American mindset (which they so obviously lost with their lies during the presidential campaign).

It looks like it is time to start discussing tapering and Weidmann is hinting in that direction as deficits are getting out of control once more .

.The European Commission should be relieved of its budget surveillance role as it is too political, European Central Bank policymaker Jens Weidmann told German business daily Handelsblatt.

"I do not believe that a Commission which interprets its mandate as politically as the current one is best suited to ensure budget surveillance in Europe," Weidmann, who also heads Germany's Bundesbank, said in the interview published on Friday.

"(German Finance Minister) Wolfgang Schaeuble and myself are both convinced that this task should best be shifted to an independent institution which is not subject to any obvious conflict of interests," he added.

Dollar dips on U.S. bond yields, Thanksgiving hangover -- Reuters.com
Reply
"The dollar retreated against its major currency peers on Friday, a pullback in U.S. bond yields spurring some profit-taking as it headed for its best run in almost two years.

Expectations of rises in U.S. inflation and interest rates have driven the greenback to a more than 6 percent gain over October and November, its strongest showing over a similar period since early 2015.

Most currency players expect the gains to continue, but the combination of Thanksgiving, the processing of corporate flows before the month-end and perceived risks looming for markets in the first half of December led some to cash in gains now..."

Paul Donovan UBS . I like his comments

American consumers are off indulging in the national pastime of visiting the shopping mall. In fact, the Black Friday extravaganza is more about business television channels being able to produce sensationalist graphics and stirring soundtracks than it is about predicting trends in consumption.
The French have the second round of the presidential primaries for the center-right on Sunday. With the anti-establishment Le Pen performing well in the opinion polls (those reliable barometers of political direction), the center-right proposes a choice between former PM Fillon and former PM Juppe.
Japanese consumer price inflation came out unexciting and relatively unimportant. Although officially Japan's headline rate has turned positive, the reality is that most Japanese do not believe the official numbers at all and think Japanese consumer price inflation is the highest in the developed world.
UK CBI retail sales data is due, giving an indication of how the British consumer is bearing up. The British government did revise down its growth estimates, but still sees a return to trend in a couple of years. The British government always sees a return to trend in a couple of years.

EUR/USD - ..... Euro is trading a tad higher vs where it was in Asian morning 24 hours ago. Although euro bears gave the single currency another bashing in early European trading Thur n knocked the pair to 1.0518, a 20-month bottom, however, lack of follow-through selling quickly lifted price and euro rallied to 1.0586 after tripping stops above 1.0566/70, however, price quickly retreated once stop-buying was over and fell back to 1.0543 b4 moving sideways in holiday-thinned North American session.
Offers are tipped at 1.0560/70 and more above with stops above 1.0600.
Bids are noted at 1.0530-20 and more below with market chatter of a fairly large option barrier at 1.0500.

After yesterday's release of important German Ifo and Gfk data, traders may show relatively muted reaction to release of France's consumer confidence, Italy's industrial orders n retails sales during European morning.

Despite marginal weakness to 1.0539 in Asia as intra-day rally in dlr/yen has led to a bout of broad-based usd-buying, buying interest emerged and euro inch higher again, suggesting choppy sideways swings above 1.0518 low would continue.

Forex Forum

The Global-View Forex Forum is the hub for currency trading on the web. Founded in 1996, it was the original forex forum and is still the place where forex traders around the globe come 24/7 looking for currency trading ideas, breaking forex news, fx trading rumors, fx flows and more. This is where you can find a full suite of forex trading tools, including a complete fx database, forex chart points, live currency rates, and live fx charts. In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.

Global-View also offers a full fx trading chart gallery that includes fx pairs, such as the EURUSD, commodities, stocks and bonds. In a fx trading world where markets are integrated, the chart gallery is a valuable trading tool. Look for updates on the Forex Forum when the chart gallery is updated.

Global-View.com also offers a forex blog, where articles of interest for currency trading are posted throughout the day.
