Shares of Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT, -2.00%) declined in the extended session Thursday while shares of Boeing Co. Lockheed shares fell 1.9% to $248 after hours, while Boeing shares rose 0.7% to $158.58. - marketwatch

I find "resulting in higher growth and inflation" confusing
walmart, as agenaral example, knows that if it wants to sell more (units) - i.e. the equivalent to "higher growth" - it has to lower units' price, rather than raise price (i.e. equivalent to "inflation")

"The dollar was little changed against a basket of currencies on Thursday, hovering below a 14-year high reached earlier this week as a modest bout of buying emerged following an early round of profit-taking.

Traders brushed off mostly upbeat U.S. economic data as they refrained from adding bullish dollar bets ahead of Christmas, analysts said.

Pre-Market Forex Trading Ideas for 23 Dec 2016

Forex Trading Outlook

  • Thursday saw a pre-holiday dump of U.S. and Canadian data in North America. Broadly the data were mixed and thus had little impact on trading. Globally, equity and fixed income markets are heading into the Christmas break mixed. This is must be a disappointment to those expecting seasonal strenght in equities and more Trump euphoria.

  • Friday trading should be cautious as the Christmas break nears. The EURUSD is slightly on the back foot again after making new lows Tuesday to 1.0350. The EURUSD recovered to as high as 1.0500 area on Thursday before closing back below 1.0450.

  • Expect limited trader participation next week and until after the turn of the year. Recall, limited volumes no longer always imply stable prices in an era of electronic trading.

The search is on for a non government controlled means of exchange / store of value... bitcoin is one.

What just happened in India makes that search even more urgent. The fear is: confiscation / taxation / hyperinflation / capital controls.

Faith in government is low and screeching lower all the time. Us and them kiddo.... the fight is on. Us always wins by the way. Look for a great interview with Putin in German with subtitles where he explains: you can do nothing without the people. Our goons don't get it and WE know that. And we are just waiting for them to freak out on us. So it's bitcoins and agricultural land :-)

"Sterling fell to a two-week low against the euro on Thursday after a survey of British consumers showing a gloomy view of the economy's prospects next year kept it on the defensive against a perky single currency.

It was sterling's fourth consecutive daily fall against the euro, its longest losing streak since August, as it got caught in the slipstream of the single currency's recovery from a 14-year low against the greenback this week."

Winter is here in the NORTH - by the time it leaves the UK and US, winners in the 2016 Change Sweepstakes, will have a pretty good idea of the payoff amount - USD and GBP have responded differently but that can change as well

In the US the new Administration will have thrown a new Supreme Court Justice into the political mix, one or two new members of the Federal Reserve into the economy and a hint of whether Change is real or scam

Unlike every other market FX is political because currency is the creature of government -- 2017 is the Year of the New World Order so stable governments should yield best FX results

Mixed Risk indeed!

California and NY are where virtually all the money is.

Perhaps not for long:

California's birthrate falls to its lowest level on record
...Between July 2015 and July of this year, there were 12.42 births per 1,000 Californians, the agency said this week. The last time the birthrate came close to being that low was during the Great Depression, when it hit 12.6 per 1,000 in 1933. ....

Like Japan--California may be seeing its decline coming.

Looking for an EDGE?!

Everyone does.
Phil Ivey found some millions on the edge-- but had to pay them back. Looks unfair to me!

In July 2012, Phil Ivey walked into the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, N. J. Over the next 17 hours, he would become nearly $4.8 million richer. A gambler by profession, Ivey billed himself as the “Tiger Woods” of poker; he had won more than $6 million from several tours on the World Series of Poker and another $19 million through years of online poker. But Ivey was not playing poker on that day in July. His winning spree came from baccarat — a game of chance associated with high rollers and would-be James Bonds.

......The technique Ivey and Sun used was called edge-sorting. Sun was allowed to peek at the card before the dealer flipped it over. In Mandarin, she would ask the dealer to rotate the most valuable cards in the baccarat deck — the sixes through nines — 180 degrees as they were flipped. The automatic shuffler could randomize the cards, but would not alter their rotation.

“Baccarat is a casino game well known for unique and superstitious rituals,” Hillman noted in an October opinion. “Thus, Sun telling the dealer to turn a card in a certain way did not raise any red flags for Borgata.”

With the deck sorted, it was possible for Sun to identify which cards had been rotated. The pair therefore knew the values of the cards while they were being dealt, before completing bets. Ivey adjusted his bets, and once the pair edge-sorted the entire deck, he increased his bids to the maximum allowed.

“The defendants not only shifted the odds to their favor, it is undisputed they won and won big,” Hillman wrote in his December opinion awarding Borgata the $10 million."....

Interesting story

USD/JPY Forex Picks Of The Day
Reply
The dollar-yen pair witnesses two-way trades in Asia, fluctuating between gains and losses amid thin liquidity conditions and persistent weaker tone seen behind the US dollar across the board.

While the Japanese stocks remain under pressure, despite a record $ 830 billion spending budget announced by the government for FY 2017/18, underpinning the yen’s appeal as a safety bet.

Over the last hour, the major spiked to 117.71 highs on the Japanese budget announcement, although quickly erased gains in response to some selling seen in the US treasury yields across the curve. The spot is last seen changing hands around 117.55, almost unchanged on the day.

Sounds like you are having an argument with yourself..

Merry Christmas matie. Remember knowledge is power. Little anecdote: ran into a French girl here who has been working here 5 years. Recently she had to have an operation on her knee. Wait time in Cairns: 6 months. She flew to France got it done. The French kicked up a bit of stink since she has not been paying into the ststem. But she got it done. Free. Don't know what her add on costs would have been in Cairns. Australians are getting bilked. In debt to their eyeballs and 'happy' as long as property prices keep going up. I could go on. I won't. But trust me your standard of living sucks.

Australia: where you find the palest, fattest people who only think they have it good because they are told so, over and over. And you can't say so cause then you are 'fat shaming' them. Meanwhile lopping off limbs is seen as the treatment for diabetes. Food is expensive and of poor quality because distribution is monopolised by Coles and Woolworths. Well done.

AceTrader Dec 22: Intra-Day News and Views USD/JPY

USD/JPY - 117.58... Trading the dlr proved to be pretty tricky yesterday as price swings from initial loss to gain, depending which intra-day session you were trading.
The pair came under renewed active selling at 118.07 in Asia Wednesday, mainly on active yen-buying, price fell to 117.39 ahead of European open and dlr later hit session lows of 117.11 also ahead of New York open before staging a short-covering bounce to 117.86.

Well, it looks like the pair is not going anywhere in a hurry, esp. ahead of Friday's market holiday in Japan, therefore, further 'gyrations inside this week's 116.56-118.24 range are expected to continue, some may see a 'triangle' pattern from 118.66 is unfolding, suggesting buying dlr on dips is still the preferred game until a see a daily close below this week's low at 116.56 (Monday).

Education is not equivalent to smarter. More medical treatment is not equivalent to healthier. Bout time the Anglos learnt to eat healthier, get out of the car and off the coach get some sunshine fresh air, do some sport and grow their own food and use their own brains instead of repeating these god-awful slogans which pass for ideas. Currently in Cairns and what a sorry lot of fat, pale people you have here.
