It is hard to suggest a reaction but a weaker inflation number is expected (I just saw a bank forecast 0.0%) and it seems only a matter of when, not if the focus shifts to the March 10 ECB meeting and an expected cut in rates + possible some tweak to QE. A soft HICP is widely expected but there could be some reaction, especially if it prints negative. Greater focus will be on US data at 13:30 GMT.

Japan population shrinks by one million census confirms

New census figures in Japan show the population has shrunk by nearly one million in the past five years, in the first decline registered since 1920.
As of October last year the country has 127.1 million people, 0.7% fewer than in the last census.
Demographers have long predicted a drop, citing Japan's falling birth rate and a lack of immigration.
The rapidly ageing population has contributed to a stagnating economy and worries of increasing health costs.

"Fifteen months have passed since G20 leaders promised a 2-per-cent boost in global growth at the November, 2014 summit in Brisbane, Australia. Since announcing pledges to add more than $2-trillion (U.S.) to the global economy and create millions of jobs, growth forecasts have moved in the opposite direction."
Over the past year, forecasts for growth have repeatedly been lowered in the United States, Japan, the euro zone and major emerging markets such as China and Brazil. Many nations are also dealing with lower-than-expected inflation, which hurts government revenue.
The International Monetary Fund sounded the alarm this week, urging G20 leaders to endorse bold action based on significant new measures to stimulate economic growth.
These developments point to higher risks of a derailed recovery, at a moment when the global economy is highly vulnerable to adverse shocks, the IMF warned in a note to the G20.
The IMF urged nations to reduce the over-reliance on monetary policy by focusing on fiscal measures that encourage economic growth.
Example of bold action: Canada sunny ways Trudeau government loading up the debt pile to at least 18 billion, 3x elections promise . Odds are Justin will get some award from the IMF

Update Time: 26 Feb 2016 08:32 GMT
USD/JPY - 112.86
Despite the greenback's selloff to a fresh 2-week trough at 111.04, subsequent strong rebound suggests further choppy trading above February's low at 110.99 would continue with upside bias and gain towards 113.39/40 is likely to be seen.
However, as broad outlook remains consolidative, reckon resistance at 113.95 should remain intact and bring another fall later today or early tomorrow.
On the downside, only below 111.04 would revive bearishness for a re-test of 110.99, break would confirm recent downtrend has resumed and yield further weakness towards 110.40/50.

Despite yesterday's intra-day choppy swings after early decline to to Wed's 3-week trough at 1.0957, subsequent rebound from 1.0987 to 1.1050 in New York session, then intra-day brief rise to 1.1060 in Asia today suggests recent fall from Feb's 3-1/2 month peak at 1.1377 has made a temporary low and consolidation with upside bias remains for a long-overdue correction to 1.1090/00, near term o/bot condition should cap euro below 1.1138/39 res.
On the downside, only below 1.0987 sup suggests correction is over and risks re-test of 1.0957, however, loss of downward momentum should keep price well above minor daily sup at 1.0904 today.

Brexit Poll: What Do Traders Expect?
Some folks (even in Britain) consider that the UK only punches above its weight because of its EU membership - this disregards history and the military (nuclear) status of the UK
Of Irish heritage I have no favor of the English but the UK has a scope of influence of political and economic effect that no European country can match - by any rational measure it is the 4th to 6th power in the world
For it to weigh its sovereignty versus some ambiguous economic benefit means that the next few months will be volatile beyond any CB decision

Its another day where oil prices, correlated 90% to the S&P 500, rise pulling stocks higher along with it. Thursday, it's Venezuela saying Russia, Saudis and Qatar will meet next week to discuss high production levels.
PleaseVenezuela?!? They are habitual liars about the color of the sky.
Nevertheless, oil price watchers took their assertion as being fact despite the countrys habitual lying and taking rumors as truth. It may be so, but given the three countrys recent previous denials about production cuts and Venezuelas conflict of interest, well youll understand my skepticism.
Stocks rallied again with oil ignoring another lousy day of poor economic data and weakening corporate earnings guidance. But clearly again, the tape is the tape and a disciplined trader should respect it. But, playing the declining oil price production card is becoming a joke played too often.
