(Asking the Question That Shall Not Be Asked): in this year's G20 Class Picture, why were you frowning and looking so UnLoved.
_____________________________________________

Yesterday’s FOMC meeting and press conference generated widespread unease.

Reporters tried to address these questions during the press conference. Yellen was uncharacteristically opaque. She deflected questions. It had the appearance of a coach who had a specific game plan, but the familiar playbook was replaced on the day of the game. The market place is abuzz with two possibilities for such a shift.

The first possibility is that something spooked the board. The market is only learning now from Bernanke’s book that QE2 and QE3 were initiated because of fears of the European crisis, not due to a shortfall in economic targets as claimed. Most people believe that the Fed deferred a hike in September due to “international developments”.

The first possibility may have been the catalyst for the second. The second possibility being discussed is that some type of central bank accord was reached at the G20 meeting in Shanghai February 25-26. Maybe they noticed that diverging central bank policies were leading to extreme market volatility and accusations of currency wars. It is not difficult to envision an agreement where central banks agreed to provide more stimuli, if the Fed agreed to pause in order to not offset the effects of such moves.

This would mean that the Fed would have to ignore economic data.

What Happened Yesterday: Either Something Spooked The Fed Or There Is A "Central Bank Accord"

A Trading Approach for Current Markets You Really Should Try
Reply

I recently asked for feedback on our latest trading program and one consistent reply was a request for a personal session with me. While I cannot accommodate everyone with a one-on-one I decided to hold small group sessions to explain my approach and answer questions. My approach is

- Easy to learn
- Inexpensive
- Can be added to your existing trading

Given a global audience, I will try to schedule times that suit. The first session will be on Monday at 10 AM EDT. I am limiting the number to keep it personal so EMAIL to reserve your spot.

The EU should petition for a new Olympic sport, Can Kicking -
But another deal, another meal and congratulations all around -- For 6 bio eur the EU has agreed an immigrant structure w/ Turkey that has a shorter shelf life than bread -- it deals only w/ Syrian refugees and Greece // and, of course, no EU country will possibly when handed the memo from Brussels advising them how many refugees they are going to be taking -- What can possibly go wrong?

By mid June this should deal should be in shambles and coincides nicely w/ a possible Brexit (the UK gets to contribute more than 20% of the Turkish Bribe)

Yellen Hedge Fund has huge profits.

DJ Tricky Mechanics Behind Fed's Record Payout -- Market Talk

13:32 ET - There's a somewhat-uncomfortable story behind the Fed sending a record $97.8B in profit to Treasury last year. Fed officials have often responded to criticisms of their policies by noting money--coming from interest on bonds the central bank owns--goes into government coffers and helps deficit reduction. But much of the cash came from taxpayers to begin with as the Fed holds $2.4T of Treasurys and $1.8T of mortgage-backed bonds. So while the Fed is defraying the deficit, it's doing it a way many don't fully grasp--with arms of the government passing public money back and forth. That's useful context as Congress has been moving to tap Fed profits to pay for various government programs, over the strong objection of central bankers. ([email protected])

Free trade is important because most products perceived as American are not produced in America . Nike shoes are produced in Indonesia , Apple phones are made in Taiwan ,
Ralph Lauren clothes come from Egypt etc.

So a higher or lower dollar has less impact than if everything was produced in America.

The same goes for Europe . A lot of so called French or Italian products are produced somewhere else.

Its all about marketing .

Turkey welcome to the club ?

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday Europe should look at its own record on migrants before telling Turkey what to do and accused it of "dancing in a minefield" by supporting terrorist groups.

In combative comments made as Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu meets European Union leaders in Brussels, Erdogan also said Turkey would only listen to external criticism on its rights record when it was justified.

"At a time when Turkey is hosting three million (migrants), those who are unable to find space for a handful of refugees, who in the middle of Europe keep these innocents in shameful conditions, must first to look at themselves," Erdogan said in a speech broadcast on television.

He accused some countries of directly or indirectly supporting terrorism, in apparent reference to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militant group which has waged a three-decade insurgency in Turkey's southeast. A PKK offshoot has claimed responsibility for two suicide bombings that killed 66 people in Ankara in the last month.

  • The only key data from the U.S. today is preliminary University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment for March. An improvement in the data is seen. Canada releases key CPI and Retail Sales figures. I don't see either of these reports as decisive for trading into the weekend. Forex markets generally have been following the lead of crude oil and equity markets.
  • Whether we are in a "currency war" or an engineered G20 USD depreciation remains to be seen, but what is clear is that top central banks are very concerned about the slow pace of global economic growth.
  • The week ahead sees most key market centers closed Friday for Good Friday observances and several shut on Easter Monday as well. That means key ecnomic data will be front-loaded in the period.

The fact that price has fallen in Asia due to renewed weakness in the Nikkie (currently down 320 points at 16616), suggesting yen-buying may continue.
Initial bids are noted at 110.70-60 with stops below there, however, more buying interest is touted at 110.40-30 with fairly large stops below 'psychological' level at 110.00.

My marker for STOX has always been the GDP - it was an actuary who explained this to me, not an economist // the Fed is killing the economy - it's like leeches therapy 200 years ago // other CBs are EVEN worse

Forex Forum

The Global-View Forex Forum is the hub for currency trading on the web. Founded in 1996, it was the original forex forum and is still the place where forex traders around the globe come 24/7 looking for currency trading ideas, breaking forex news, fx trading rumors, fx flows and more. This is where you can find a full suite of forex trading tools, including a complete fx database, forex chart points, live currency rates, and live fx charts. In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.

FX Trading

Global-View also offers a full fx trading chart gallery that includes fx pairs, such as the EURUSD, commodities, stocks and bonds. In a fx trading world where markets are integrated, the chart gallery is a valuable trading tool. Look for updates on the Forex Forum when the chart gallery is updated.

Forex Blog

Global-View.com also offers a forex blog, where articles of interest for currency trading are posted throughout the day. The forex blog articles come from outside sources, including forex brokers research as well as from the professionals at Global-View.com. This forex blog includes the Daily Forex View, Market Chatter and technical forex blog updates. In additional to its real time forex forum, there are also Member Forums available for more in depth forex trading discussions.
