Forex Trading Outlook for the Week Ahead
Submitted by Simon Black via SovereignMan.com,
On July 1, 2005, the Chairman of then President George W. Bush’s Council of Economic Advisors told a reporter from CNBC that,
“We’ve never had a decline in house prices on a nationwide basis. So, what I think is more likely is that house prices will slow, maybe stabilize, might slow consumption spending a bit. I don’t think it’s gonna drive the economy too far from its full employment path, though.”
His name was Ben Bernanke. And within a year he would become Chairman of the Federal Reserve.

Yellen can afford to be more "hawkish" on Monday - she needs to keep the financial market in line w/ the rate expectation of July or, now, September // the economy can always be an excuse but the financial market is the Fed's concern -- this imbalance is the reason the Fed keeps stumbling around in the Money Swamp
I've spent nearly a week in Indiana - seems things are going pretty well here as economy shifts BUT Trump is a big hope for CHANGE (our Brexit vote)

June 6 Speech - Chair Janet L. Yellen
Economic Outlook and Monetary Policy
--
That speech , likely, will not be about her "Economic Outlook and Monetary Policy".
That speech is , very likely , being re-written to try to
1) protect her credibility with players - make sure that “probably in coming months” being "still appropriate” does not become laughing stock with players
2) protect her relevance
3) stop n reverse player speculation that Janet's expertise is on par with that of a chicken and that she is just not all that clever
-- that her economic stimulation policy is an embarrassment and a joke
--- that she will have to do a 180 degree turn on her rate hike ambitions and
---- arrest speculation that she ll be back soon with some old/new form of QE "stimulation"

re verizon and june nfp f/c, most incorporated the net effect (verizon took on a lot of temps for strike) but the print was much worse, confirming the slowdown in job growth over the last quarter. DB got closest with 110k and while that factored in verizon and a slow down too, the print was much worse. No strike can mask that particulat number.

I'm confused.
Given that striking Verizon workers affected the number pf jobs created how come economists published predictions circa 160,000?
When last they went on strike in 2011 there were zero jobs created in that month the strike started then a spike the following month.
Why wasn't the strike factored into the numbers?
Also, seems like the US is the only country that adjusts it's employment figures for striking workers. It's not like they are never going to return to work.
