Inflation could rise as high as 700 percent in 2016. The country’s foreign reserves have fallen to less than $12 billion as it tries to pay down debts."

some houses have parity as a tgt. as a final tgt i think 1.28 is one of the highest, id certainly expect much lower ultimately but i can be wrong. but this brexit is a clusterfk of the biggest proportions st for the uk. but there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. you buy that light once we get there, but not yet. st we can still see 135 maybe but lower levels beckon before multiyr low is in.

lets see what the fixing brings, fridays can often see a bit of volatility. staying below 13120 keeps pressure on downside for 13055/60, otherwise they lose interest. but sales at 13155/60 if seen shud yield results.

WTI is poised on the daily 144 ema (44.10) and the 21 dma has rolled over and is moving thru the 55 ema (daily MACD has been trending down for over a month and the wkly MACD is turning down from its peak)

The wkl 21ma(44.21) has been rising but a close below that price looks likely -- past two years this month has been the beginning of oil weakness

Venezuela is collapsing otherwise there would be greater focus on the Stagflation woes of Brazil -- another move down in oil could move the economic concerns in S. America onto the geo-political list

French court rules IMF's Lagarde must stand trial in Tapie case

France's highest appeals court ruled on Friday that International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde must stand trial for her role in a 400 million euros ($440 million) payout in 2008 to businessman Bernard Tapie.

She was French finance minister at the time.

The court rejected her appeal against a judge's order in December for her to stand trial at the Cour de Justice de la Republique, a special court that tries ministers for crimes in office.

Her lawyer Patrick Maisonneuve expressed regret over the decision and said he was convinced that the trial would show she was innocent.

Lagarde is accused of negligence by improperly signing off on the decision to allow an extremely rare out-of-court arbitration in a dispute between Tapie, a supporter of conservative former president Nicolas Sarkozy, and the state.

The arbitration judges later ruled in Tapie's favor and ordered the state payout to him, but appeals courts have since thrown out the settlement decision.

Trading Themes --
  • The closely-watched special post-Brexit U.K. flash PMIs were very weak, but mixed against market expectations. Eurozone PMIs were mixed. The U.S. sees a flash MFG PMI later today.

  • Markets continue to react badly to the month-old BBC radio documentary of BOJ Governor Kuroda. In the interview, he threw cold water on the idea of "helicopter money". The Nikkei closed down about 231 points on the day.

  • Furthermore, traders were reacting to in-depth analyses of PM Abe's major stimulus program, which is proving not to be as large as the headlines are suggesting.

  • ECB President Draghi was decidedly less dovish than expected on Thursday. In essence, he said that future monetary policy decisions would be dependant on future economic developments.

  • The Republican Party convention wound up Thursday evening with Trump's nomination acceptance speech. The Democrats meet next week.

EZ composite PMI fell to 52.9 from 53.1.

Personally I prefer to look at the MFG and Service PMIs individually. I think for most countries the Service PMI is more important, but that the Mfg PMI is useful because it is more sensitive to the business cycles.

If ECB wants to stabilise the positive economic sentiment post Brexit it should stop the NIRP and the crazy asset purchases . The ECB is not and should not be the Central Plan Bureau .

Allocating taxpayers money to non profitable banks is Soviet style central planning leading to collaps . In 2016 we should have learned that lesson . The crisis was in 2008 not now .

Hard economic data means actually counting widgets. Only governments can afford to do this.

PMIs are "soft" measurements. For example for jobs they ask companies are they adding employees, holding steady or reducing jobs. The do not collect actual data.

I like the PMIs because they are current readings, but their weakness is that they lack any precision and thus can be misleading at times.

The Global-View Forex Forum is the hub for currency trading on the web. Founded in 1996, it was the original forex forum and is still the place where forex traders around the globe come 24/7 looking for currency trading ideas, breaking forex news, fx trading rumors, fx flows and more. This is where you can find a full suite of forex trading tools, including a complete fx database, forex chart points, live currency rates, and live fx charts. In addition, there is a forex brokers directory where you can compare forex brokers. There is also a forex brokers hotline where you can ask for help choosing a forex broker that meets your individual fx trading needs. Interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading.

Forex News

The forex forum is where traders come to discuss the forex market. It is one of the few places where forex traders of all levels of experience, from novice to professionals, interact on the same venue to discuss forex trading. There is also the GVI Forex, which is a private subscription service where professional and experienced currency traders meet in a private forex forum. it is like a virtual forex trading room. This is open to forex traders of all levels of experience to view but only experienced currency tradingprofessionals can post.

Currency Trading

Currency trading charts are updated daily using the forex trading ranges posted in the Global-View forex database. You will also find technical indicators on the fx trading charts, e.g. moving averages for currencies such as the EURUSD. This is another forex trading tool provided by Global-View.com.

Forex Brokers

The forex database can be used to access high, low, close daily forex ranges for key currency pairs, such as the EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDCAD, AUD, NZD and major crosses, including EURJPY, EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPJPY, GBPCHF and CHFJPY. Data for these currency trading pairs dating back to January 1, 1999 can be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.

Forex Trading

Forex chart points are in a currency trading table that includes; latest fx tradinghigh-low-close range, Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci retracement levels, daily forex pivot points support and resistance levels, average daily forex range, MACD for the different currency trading pairs. You can look on the forex forum for updates when one of the fx trading tools is updated.
