Judicial Watch announced on its website today that it has submitted a list of 25 questions to Hillary Clinton regarding her email practices while serving as Secretary of State. Pursuant to a decision by U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan, Hillary has 30 days to respond, under oath, to the questions. Per federal law, Judicial Watch was limited to a total of 25 questions.

All 25 questions are included in their entirety below (we've highlighted some of the particularly amusing ones):

  • A much stronger than expected Conference Board Consumer Confidence report Tuesday set the stage for USD rally into U.S. employment data starting with the ADP Private payrolls survey on Wednesday. Some are expecting that Friday's employment report will serve as the justification for a Fed interest rate hike on September 21.

  • A Bloomberg interview with Fed Vice Chair Fischer shed no new light on future policy. Markets still don't trust unreliable Fed verbal signals. The central bank has lost all credibility with poorly executed "transparency". Current odds on a rate hike have started to slip again. Odds for one rate hike by yearend are down to 77% from 90% last Friday.

  • There is new murmuring in the markets that U.K. PM May's commitment to Brexit may be slipping. The major focus now is the timing of when she will invoke article 50. On the other hand, many expect the U.K. economy to flourish once it is out from under the thumb of Brussels.

FISCHER: Well, clearly there are different responses to negative rates. If you’re a saver, they’re very difficult to deal with and to accept, although typically they go along with quite decent equity prices. The European Commission may have triggered the next EU crisis w/ this Apple finding // it seems to me Ireland is in charge of its tax policy and MIGHT be liable to a Commission finding (although that seems a shaky proposition) BUT if Apple followed the Irish rules re: tax then it seems the Commission has no jurisdiction and certainly no claim to "restitution", directly or indirectly -- the dispute is w/ Ireland // A lot of JOBS are at stake

The US opposition to the ruling is merely an objection that the Treasury did not get a "share" -- the US tries to pull this all the time and favors the end of these tax deals BUT it will need to be paid off or the Commission will be stuck

Watching Fischer's attempt to "say" nothing (for a guy who is nuanced when he says Good Morning) triggered for some reason the fact that Yellen has less than a year left - Labor Day kicks off serious Presidential bets and the higher risk of a slowdown over the next year // the reappointment of a Fed Chair is an interesting test for a new President -- a clean break is usually wanted BUT poses risks -- Yellen hasn't cleaned out the stables and the new Congress/President are not likely to want any more Monetary Policy experiments if the economy falters - by this time next year there will be a lot of "damning with faint praise"

  • Equity markets are heading higher as markets are digest the reasons for Fed policy tightening signal Friday. Some are interpreting the sign as an indication that the economy is improving. U.S. inflation data Monday indicated price pressures should not be a cause for Fed worry. U.S. jobs data on Friday are expected to be decisive either way on the September rate decision.

  • There is new murmuring in the markets that U.K. PM May's commitment to Brexit may be slipping. The major focus now is the timing of when she will invoke article 50. On the other hand, many expect the U.K. economy to flourish once it is out from under the thumb of Brussels.

  • Markets still don't trust the unreliable verbal signals from the Fed. As an institution, it has lost all credibility with its poorly executed policy "transparency". I would not be surprised by a September hike. Current odds on a rate hike have started to slip again, but I am confident the current plan is to hike no later than December 21. Fed Funds futures place about 32% odds for September and 83% on one rate hike by yearend.

EUR/USD - 1.1185
The single currency's selloff on Friday post hawkish comments from Fed's Yellen to 1.1181, then marginally lower to 1.1158 yesterday suggests decline from August's 8-week peak at 1.1366 has once again resumed and consolidation with downside bias would be seen for stronger retracement towards 1.1130.
However, loss of momentum would keep price above 1.1070 today and yield rebound later.

On the upside, only above 1.1245 would indicate aforesaid correction has ended and turn outlook bullish for gain to 1.1313 before prospect of another retreat.
