JP - 200K+ would be considered strong (3 in a row) BUT the Fed speakers have been downsizing the NFP to 125K to 150K as "sufficient to maintain confidence in the Labor Market" -- the labor market is only a concern to FOMC if it is weak (MAY) // inflation target is the KEY for a group (participants and Members) who want to wait until the target is hit (Brainerd group) and even Yellen has often remarked that the Fed can tolerate a period of above target inflation
I include a chart of the Fed's preferred inflation target since 1994 when G'span "shocked" the Bond Market -- I noted on the chart the last time the Fed reached its target -- turned out to be an interesting period // For most of the time PCE ex Food and energy was quite content below the TARGET
Last few weeks a lot of PRINT about deflation in FOOD so maybe that will be the new worry

- Thursday saw markets caught long USD when weak ISM Manufacturing PMI was released. This is one of the key statistics the Fed follows. These data raised a new worry about the likelihood of a Fed rate hike on September 21. The focus of trade is now will be on the release of August U.S. Non-farm Payrolls on Friday's N.Y. open.
- Street estimates are for a gain in jobs on the order of 180K in the month. However, there is concern about a statistical quirk in August data that could result in an initial jobs reading of 50K below the prevailing rate. While I do not trust such stories nor would I suggest trading on them, I only mention it because its out there. NFP is a random number and I have never seen anyone who could make consistently accurate forecasts of the data.
- Despite the poor ISM data, a strong August employment report could still serve as a justification for a Fed interest rate hike on September 21. Ironically, U.K. Manufacturing PMI rebounded sharply in August as it corrected after a post-Brexit tumble and manufacturing got a boost from a weaker GBP.

The analysis also found that Clintons representatives, between 2001, when the Clintons left the White House, and the end of this year, had requested allocations under the Act totaling $16 million. Thats more than any of the other living former presidents Jimmy Carter, George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush requested during that span.

Deutsche Bank refuses clients' demand for physical gold
Clients of Germanys biggest bank who have invested in the exchange-traded commodity Xetra-Gold are facing problems when they want to obtain physical gold, according to German analytic website Godmode-Trader.de.
Xetra-Gold is a bond on the Deutsche Brse commodities market, and Deutsche Bank is a designated sponsor. On the website, Xetra-Gold says its clients have the right for physical delivery of gold.
Physically backed: The issuer uses the proceeds from the issue of Xetra-Gold to purchase gold. The physical gold is held in custody for the issuer in the Frankfurt vaults of Clearstream Banking AG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Brse. In order to facilitate the delivery of physical gold, the issuer holds a further limited amount of gold on an unallocated weight account with Umicore
AG & Co., says Xetra-Gold.
However, despite claims that every virtual gram of gold is backed by the same amount of physical gold, clients have been refused the precious metal upon demand.
According to Godmode Trader, its reader sought physical delivery of his holdings of Xetra-Gold. For this he approached, as instructed by the German Brse document, his principal bank, Deutsche Bank." However, he was told that the service was no longer available for "reasons of business policy". The article went on to say its not yet clear whether other banks are still delivering gold through Xetra.
Xetra-Gold says its holdings amount to over 85 tons of gold. At the same time, the number of deliveries of physical gold has risen to nearly 900, at a total volume of over 4 tons, and the assets it manages reach 3.5 billion.
Thus, troubles with delivering even small gold amounts to retail clients by Deutsche Bank may indicate that a global physical gold shortage is only growing.
According to the World Gold Council, Germany has the world's second largest gold reserves at 3,381 metric tons. However, there has been a public backlash against the government for keeping most of the country's gold reserves abroad.
The majority of Germany's gold held in country is being stored in Frankfurt. In December 2015 there were reserves of 1,402.5 metric tons. The Deutsche Bundesbank reports it still holds more than 1,347 metric tons of gold in New York, 434.7 metric tons in London and more than 196 metric tons in Paris.
Germany has repatriated more than 177 metric tons from Paris, and about 189 metric tons from New York.

Hanjin Shipping's collapse upsets global trade as vessels are turned away from ports
5 Hours Ago
The collapse of South Korea's Hanjin Shipping sent ripples though global trade on Thursday, as the country's largest port turned away its ships and as some manufacturers scrambled for freight alternatives.
Hanjin on Wednesday filed for court receivership after its banks decided to end financial support, and ports from China to Spain, the United States and Canada have refused entry to Hanjin vessels in what is traditionally the industry's busiest season ahead of the year-end holidays.
An official with Hanjin Shipping in Busan confirmed that its vessels were not entering the southern city's port as container lashing providers deny service on concerns that they will not be paid. The company was also worried that the ships may be seized by creditors.
LG Electronics, the world's No.2 maker of TVs, told Reuters it was cancelling orders with Hanjin and was seeking alternatives to ship its freight.

- The focus of trade is now on Friday's release of August U.S. Non-farm Payrolls. Street estimates are for a gain in jobs on the order of 180K in the month. However, there is chatter of a statistical quirk that could result in reading of 50K below the prevailing rate. I do not trust such a story, nor would I suggest trading on it. - The ADP Private payrolls survey for August saw a gain of +177K vs. a revised +194K in July. The ADP data are in line with street estimates for +180K. However, keep in mind that the ADP report notoriously is an unreliable predictor of NFP.
- A strong August employment report could serve as a justification for a Fed interest rate hike on September 21).
- So far August final Manufacturing PMI's have been mostly lackluster at best. The U.K. Manufacturing PMI has rebounded sharply in August due to the weaker GBP.
- There is new murmuring in the markets that U.K. PM May's commitment to Brexit may be wavering. The major focus now is the timing of when she will invoke article 50.

Central bankers also want their position of authority over the global economy to become a public priority. Ten years ago, when I asked average people what they knew about the Federal Reserve, most of them responded with confusion. They had never heard of the institution, let alone what its function was. Today, almost everyone knows about the Fed, but there is also an assumption attached that central banks, whether they are successful or not, are supposed to maintain economic stability.
The brave new world of central banking is a plan to expand on this corrupt correlation. That is to say, the general public and the mainstream should be questioning whether central banks should exist at all. Instead, people are arguing over what policies are better for central banks to adapt. The existence of central banks is considered an absolute. The masses are only given the option to debate what faces and what hats central banks should wear. If we get anything out of this deal, we only get to choose the form of our destructor.

USD/JPY - ...... The greenback resumed its recent ascent and rose to a fresh 4-week peak at 103.53, helped by the release of upbeat U.S. jobs data. However, lack of follow-through buying triggered profit-taking and price retreated to 103.25 in New York, then lower to 103.10 in Tokyo morning.
There is a slew of data to be released today from U.S. but one should pay particular attention to jobless claims (12:30GMT) and manufacturing PMI (13:45GMT).
Street forecasts are 265K and 52.1 vs previous readings of 261K and 52.1 respectively.
Bids are now lowered to 102.90/00 and more below at 102.70/80 with stops building up below there whilst initial offers are noted at 103.70/80, suggesting further choppy trading would be seen.
