ISTANBUL, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Turkey is freezing new government investment projects, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday, to rein in spending and stem double-digit inflation after a 15-year construction boom fuelled by debt.
His comments, a day after the central bank hiked interest rates by a mammoth 6.25 percentage points, mark the clearest signal yet that the government may suspend some of the big-ticket bridges, ports and railway projects that have typified Turkey's transformation under Erdogan.

If you noticed I have been posting the EURUSD pattern trading around 1.16 (p out of 10 days) and when it was broken yesterday it sent a signal for a directional move to the upside. As I have said many times, the longer a pattern like this goes on the greater the risk of a directional move once it is broken.
For today, strong US data expected so how market reacts will send a clue whether this move has more legs to it.
As noted, the bottom of AT resistance at 1.1720/33 was tested, guards the important 1.1750-90 level.
Check your AT charts for scattered supports in the 1.1668-88 zone.

Oil prices claw back on supply concerns though but demand worries drag

Oil on Friday clawed back some of its losses from the previous session, when prices fell the most in a month, as concerns about oil supply are countering worries that emerging market crises and trade disputes could dent demand.
Brent crude was up 8 cents, or 0.1 percent, at $78.26 a barrel by 0338 GMT, after falling 2 percent on Thursday. The global benchmark rose on Wednesday to its highest since May 22 at $80.13.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures were up 18 cents, or 0.2 percent, at 68.76 a barrel, after dropping 2.5 percent on Thursday.
Brent is heading for a 1.8 percent gain this week, while WTI is on track for a 1.5 percent increase.
