BREXIT
There's a choice for the EU -- Ireland doesn't want a time limit on Backstop but if the EU doesn't concede that point UK is out in March w/o any backstop -- Ireland and the North both take this possibility very seriously - so seriously that Ireland may need to negotiate a separate peace - an EU nightmare
So EU do ya feel lucky?

eu wants to push the uk into no brexit or at least a second referendum. they are likely to hold this no movement stance until the eleventh hour, at which point a no deal brexit may get too much to bare, as while the uk will suffer more initially certainly, the eu will not get thru it without significant unheavel, gdp reducing unheavel, likely pushing many of the group into recessions.

london red 19:27 GMT January 29, 2019
BREXIT
the key ones are brady (now officially stamped by may) and cooper. cooper taking essentially power away from may by allow mp's to put forward and vote on legislation. this amendment would also delay brexit for up to a year if nothing has been agreed by feb 26, essentially taking no deal off the table. this amendment would boost sterling the most i would expect. brady getting through is less positive since no deal is still on the table and requires may to go back to the eu, something the eu has said today it will not revisit.

JP, what is so hard to see. You have two accounts. You are short EURUSD in broker #1 when the platform goes down and cannot trade. Market moves your way and you take profit in broker #2 by buying EURUSD. When broker #1 platform goes back online you unwind the positions.
Not ideal but using broker #2 as a backup.

ERG brexit group meeting in half an hour to decide whether to support Brady amendment. It does appear very likely that they will as it kicks the can towards the cut off date and does put the hot potato in the hands of the EU - it would be the EU that would be the side now refusing to move after months of wanting the UK to crystalise its position.

they will vote on amendments followed by mays deal. vote C is one of many amendments on offer. even if amendments get through that give parliament say on order of business after today, its not binding. and at the end of the day, anything the MP's vote for must be agreed on by the EU, for it to have any weight. art50 revoke is the only unilateral option the uk has. even a second ref or GE would require an extension from the EU, which must be unanimous.

06:16 (UK) Northern Ireland DUP Leader Foster said back the Malthouse Compromise for the Brexit plan which lays out an alternative to the backstop - financial press - Proposal is comprised of two parts.
- Plan A is to reopen the Withdrawal Agreement and renegotiate the backstop. This would see May go back to Brussels and attempt to transform the backstop into the version set out in a Brexiterr report last year.
- The transition period would also then be extended so there was more time to agree the future relationship.
