If Id known Biden was open to lockdowns as he now states, which is something historically unprecedented in any pandemic, and a terrifying practice, one that wont ever end because elites love it, I would never have voted for him.

After the 2016 election - Obama et al spent his remaining time in office making moves to undermine the incoming administration as well as setting up The Resistance, looking forward to a Third Term for the democrats. The fruits of these efforts are now playing out in real time.
I appears that Trump is finally going to move on some of the promises unfullfilled by his administration, now that he has nothing to lose--meaning a 2nd term.
It will be interesting to watch. --- 70 days left.

With Esper out the door, Trump's newly in office acting Secretary of Defense is already making waves given who he's just brought on board.
The new acting Pentagon chief, Christopher Miller, has just brought on as his senior adviser Ret. Army Col. Douglas Macgregor. Crucially Macgregor is on record as wanting American troops out of Syria immediately (gasp, the horror!), and further wants a rapid draw down in Afghanistan as well as in places like the Korean Peninsula.
"President Trump's newly installed acting Pentagon chief is bringing on a senior adviser in a sign the administration wants to accelerate the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the Middle East before the end of his presidency in January, three people familiar with the move told Axios," Jonathan Swan writes.

Bloomberg reporting that the Trump administration is now stepping back from stimulus talks. Previously, the administration acted as the liaison for congressional Republicans and Democrats. The focus will now rest primarily on interactions between McConnell and Pelosi until President-Elect Joe Biden is sworn-in January 20, and without Trump's prodding, any hopes of a massive Republicans offer have collapsed.
According to Bloomberg, the White House move "greatly diminishes the chances of a trillion-dollar or more stimulus for the U.S. economy before January."

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Thursday that COVID-19 "won't be a pandemic a lot longer" thanks to the rapid progress on vaccines
"Certainly its not going to be a pandemic for a lot longer because I believe the vaccines are going to turn that around," Fauci said.
"I doubt were going to eradicate this," he said. "I think we need to plan that this is something we may need to maintain control over chronically. It may be something that becomes endemic that we have to just be careful about."

its a eurgbp move. yesterday saw a big reversal after some comments late evening from the uk and it has continued today. mkt is still blinkered for a deal but i reiterate what FCA said earlier today. they are just as good at shutting stable doors after horse has bolted as is the SEC but one thing they said today made sense. whatever deal is stuck or not, its too late to assume it will cover all fields. there simply is not enough time. anything agreed will be sub the standard of the present arrangement. so after an initial euphoris it may well be better to travel than arrive. in the case of nothing or very little being agreed the move would be more substantial more permanent as it appears nobody expects it.

The continued resurgence of the Coronavirus continues to dominate the press today. It has forced many governments to tighten restrictions at a time when they would have preferred to do nothing until vaccines would be ready to curb its spread. Curbs on activity of all sorts restrain economic activity and cost governments a lot of money.
The current U.S. administration is not going to impose another politically unpopular lockdown as we head into the end of year holiday season. There is also the question if the two parties in Washington can agree on a stimulus package.
EURUSD is back above the psychological 1.1800 level early in NY. Its 20-day moving average is 1.1779. S&P futures are also bid and driving a RISK-ON trade in the pair. EURGBP is up on the higher EURUSD. Brexit headlines continue to flow in. Be careful not to take statements made by negotiators too seriously. The hard deadline is yearend.

Heh, "seriously disturbed" ain't the worst thing anyone has called me in my life, so I guess I'm doing all right. That does not change my opinion one bit...forced lockdowns cause extreme damage, not just to the economy but to the well-being of the people. Living in mortal fear is no way to go through life.
A while ago, I believed that the whole virus scare thing would disappear if Biden got into office, because by that point Trump would be gone and all that. But now? An endless regime of second-guessing by people who are protected from the effects of their own decisions? By a never-ending "special coronavirus transition advisory team"?
Now that's seriously disturbed enough to make me want to leave the country too. But I love my country.

Stalin was admired by his people and around the world. He built Russia after the czars, he saved the world from the evil of Hitler. He was called " sun of the nations". As a child the youth movement "Hashomer Hatzair" tried to indoctrinate me and make me dance around his picture. I was 6 and yet I was disgusted and left the bone fire. I did not join any youth movement for many years.
Then came Nikita Krushchev (1956) and divulged the truth that Stalin was a MASS MURDERER who killed more than 20,000,000 Russians. Today he is remembered as a very vile and evil person. Very lousy legacy.
So is Trump. He was a good president for 3 years, then came 2020 and the Corona and he became a Mass murderer. The Chinese designed virus is a real evil killer. It spreads exponentially, goes thru various mutations and so far is invincible. Trump ignores it and millions of Americans follow his leadership and will die from the virus.
Trump will be remembered ONLY for his vile and ruthless attitude toward the Corona and as a mass murderer. Just like Stalin.

Joe Biden has chosen his longtime adviser and former Obama admin Ebola 'Czar' Ron Klain to reprise his role as Chief of Staff, according to the Associated Press..
"His deep, varied experience and capacity to work with people all across the political spectrum is precisely what I need in a White House chief of staff as we confront this moment of crisis and bring our country together again," Biden said in a Wednesday night statement.
Klain, a Harvard Law graduate and former editor of the Harvard Law Review, previously served as Biden's Chief of Staff from 2009-2011, as well as former Vice President Al Gore from 1995-1999 after having worked on the Clinton-Gore campaign in 1992.
Klain was also heavily involved in former Senator John Kerry's failed 2004 bid for president.

Biden-Harris vs JPM ---Covid
Anyone who wants freedom should pray that Biden never gets into office. Osterholm's thinking is what Governor Walz has been using to lock down the state of Minnesota.
Four to six weeks? F***...Minnesota has been locked down for months! Downtown Minneapolis is a ghost town, with businesses shutting down every day due to the lack of activity. Businesses that will not come back.
Now imagine a nation being completely shut down like that. This is what reliance on "experts" and "THE SCIENCE" has brought us. Osterholm is an epidemiologist, and by all accounts a damn good one. He is not, however, an economist, nor anyone who depended on the private sector for a living. He's a guy who has always been on the public teat and thinks the government can always provide more funding.
Sell USD if Biden and Harris actually get in. There will be no good reason to hold it.

Dr. Michael Osterholm, who serves as director of the Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, and is the latest "scientist" to join Joe Biden's "special coronavirus transition advisory team."
So what is his suggestion?
"A nationwide lockdown would drive the number of new cases and hospitalizations down to manageable levels while the world awaits a vaccine, Osterholm told Yahoo Finance on Wednesday.
We could pay for a package right now to cover all of the wages, lost wages for individual workers for losses to small companies to medium-sized companies or city, state, county governments. We could do all of that, he said. If we did that, then we could lockdown for four-to-six weeks.
