what they do either at or even possibly prior to the meeting will hint at how they see the vaccine (as savior), economic and financial conditions situation.

Maybe "this time it is different". But historic evidence shows that most reliable vaccine took 2 to 10 years for . You have to wait a long time to sift thru all the side effects that emerge along the way (some of which are deadly). Thalidomide is a good example.

remember rule of 3. pfzier vaccine mkts up loads, todays moderna will not see anywhere near such gains. third vaccine news you will not notice. s&p already given up most gains. as for brexit, volatility may get you whatever side you stand on a deal. it maybe be better to open a trade after a bout of volatility rather than before, then your stop has a chance.

Observations:
Markets feeling their way, which is fairly typical for the start of a new week. Also the the end of year holiday period is fast approaching, which means legislatures, politicians, etc. have a lot to accomplish (budgets, Brexit, et al) before the start of the new year. This suggests there will be a lot of decisions being made. Of course, the U.S. is in the messy process of forming a new government. Don't fret it will all get done by January 20. It always is.
As for Covid-19, There is a light at the end of the tunnel (vaccine), the focus now is building a bridge to that point.
Market sentiment is that the USD is heading into a period of softness. The forex market has a knack for upsetting consensus forecasts, so be cautious.
SURUSD is on a range above its its 1.1783 20 day average. EURGBP is just below the pivotal .9000 line and the GBPUSD is testing 1.3200.
U.S. equities are did while the Aussie and USDCAD are mixed.

if you read post the ehadlines, there has been no progress on the 3 keys issues since the summer ie fishing, state aid and governance. the eu has now been releasing officials statements trying to split the uk by saying uk chief negotiators frost isnt sure how far he can go due to the goings on at no.10. for those not in the know, there has been a power struggle led by the pm other half, labelled as princess nut nut by the right, which has seen the pm take her side and dump dominic cummings as chief advisor, who was intrumental in getting mps to accept brexit needed to be done. in what was initially thought as a move to the left and to a brexit deal (cummings was hard line against a soft deal), has been obliterated by boris today when he said he is confident the uk can prosper without a deal.
much of the mkt expects a deal to happen before time runs out, so sterling doesnt really get hit on these headlines much and stays near its high. however as we get closer to the end, some hesitation will creep in and the downside moves will get larger. stops will run and the move will feed itself. the conclusion will be a deal of sorts, which will take sterling back to around 5% higher than current levels, or if they fail to get a deal across the line, you will see the move continue quite sharply downwards (for sterling). so if you feel a deal is going to happen it would be advantageous to buy those bigger dips. but be aware that if one isnt forthcoming, the downside is large since most are on the wrond side of the boat.
