HARRISBURG A bipartisan, bicameral legislative service agency on Monday, in a rare move, rejected a request from the House of Representatives to conduct a statistical-level review of the conduct of the 2020 general election.

The Legislative Budget & Finance Committee officers voted 2-1 against performing the risk-limiting audit that was ordered by House Resolution 1100. That resolution, sponsored by Rep. Jesse Topper, R-Bedford County, passed the House on Thursday by a 112-90 vote, with all Republican members and three Democrats supporting it.

The incoming administration could not have chosen better personnel for the foreign policy and national security teams.

Tony Blinken is a dedicated public servant who will make an incredibly effective secretary of state.

Jake Sullivan is a brilliant policy mind who never forgets the overriding purpose of the job: to improve people's lives.

I've had the pleasure of seeing Amb. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Avril Haines, and Alejandro Mayorkas in action and all are utter professionals.

And I'm thrilled that @JohnKerry, one of our country's foremost public servants, will serve as an official advisor on one of the greatest national security threats America faces: climate change

Update (1200ET): Washington DC and its mayor Muriel Bowser have imposed new limits on private gatherings ahead of the Thankgsiving holiday later this week. The limits include: 10 people for indoor gatherings, and 25 when outdoors.

Since there probably aren't too many people in DC planning outdoor Thanksgiving gatherings, if you purchased a Turkey for 12 or more in the capital district, you might want to watch your back.

Hint. Bowser hopes to become the 'first' black female governor of the newly establish State (the 51st) when/if the Democrats win both Senate seats in Georgia and have an open roadt for their palns to 'remake America'.

....another major "first", Alejandro Mayorkas will serve as the first latino Secretary of Homeland Security, after serving in a deputy role during the Obama Administration.

.... the most high-profile choice might surprise many Americans: Antony Blinken, a top advisor who has advised Biden on foreign policy since 2002, will serve as Secretary of State (he also once served as a deputy secretary of state during the Obama-Biden days)

now market was able to trade below previous week low but it actually didnt make picture worser too much. euro still very bullish. people still buying euro on dips as long as monthly low at 1,1602 holds. What it changed was upside target. before weekly was not taken some people were dreaming 1,25 in december. now they need to cover excess postions near the higs of the month and hoping for 1,2050 soon. and also new levels to add euros moved lower. so if 1,1920 taken then bulls back in charge.

huge changes, really. big ones. thats what got the markets worried in the first place. now the uk would like as little change as poss, but the eu cant have someone leaving yet enjoying all the benefits. there needs to be a compromise, but the eu must consider any free reign garanted to the uk and what that might develop to in the future. so its quite a difficult task for the eu, far easier for them to sit tight and give up nothing. but they have no backbone to do that.

yes its possible, but its the eu council that can extend this period under a unanimous decision. both sides have of course said they dont want it, which could be negotiation tactics, but it wont do the eu to let it slip as it shows weakness and want for a deal, while the uk taking on an extension also shows weakness. the only way i see an extension is if they have agreed on some kind of deal and need time for retification purposes. neither side has anything to gain by letting the transition continue without said grounds.

re sterling, it looks very much looks like it will be better to travel than arrive. any deal agreed now will mean worse terms for the uk than presently enjoyed during the previous years of membership and transition period. so shortly after any deal euphoria bounce, you may see a sustained sale of sterling for a few months. the only way i see a sterling rally is on a no deal, following the big mark down of anything between 10-20% depending on the pair in question. it would be as bad as it could get and from then on, all roads lead to a deal.

"In the 19 days since the election, 12 have included no events on the president's schedule. He has appeared at public events four times and has played golf at his Virginia course six times. He has taken no questions from reporters.
On average in 2020, he spoke 8,398 words daily, according to Bill Frischling, the website's owner, but only 454 words per day since Nov. 3. On the last day of the campaign alone, he uttered more than 55,000 words.
.... He skipped the special session about handling the coronavirus pandemic on Saturday - even as cases surge in the United States - and went to the golf course. He went golfing again on Sunday.

"Stop golfing and concede," Hogan responded Sunday.

On Sunday, Trump spent part of the morning retweeting supportive posts by Liz Harrington, an RNC spokeswoman, among others. "I'm not tired of winning yet," she wrote in April 2019, a post the president resurfaced Sunday.

"And neither am I!" he wrote. He then went golfing.

In the future "He went playing golf" will be an epigram of ignominious defeat.

Update (1955ET): Sidney Powell has responded to the Trump Campaign's Sunday night announcement that she was not part of their legal team, telling CBS News "I understand today's press release. I will continue to represent #WeThePeople who had their votes for Trump and other Republicans stolen by massive fraud through Dominion and Smarmatic, and we will be filing suit soon.

Powell continues, "The chips will fall where they may, and we will defend the foundations of this great Republic," and ends with the hashtag #KrakenOnSteroids.
