According to the report, the calls began in March, after the ECB's commpletely clueless and communications-challenged President Christine Lagarde, whose most recent "success" was crushing the reputation of the IMF which lost tens of billions in its latest "bailout" of Argentina, stunned traders by suggesting at a news conference that the central bank wouldn�t prop up Italy�s bond market.
And since it is borderline illegal for a central banker to spark any selling, and since Italian stocks and bonds slumped after her comments, this sparked a panic at the ECB where hours later the chief economist, Philip Lane placed separate calls to 11 banks and investors in which he sought to "clarify" Lagarde's message.
Translation: he "explained" to a highly privileged group of ultra-wealthy investors not to sell their bonds because Lagarde had no idea what she was saying, and that he would make it clear to her what she "meant to say."

A bit of tortured logic, which may be totally erroneous:
1. Per AT, the market lives to run stops.
2. Per AT, the market works in episodes.
3. It is now December 1, the last month of the year.
4. There are long-term stops from 1.20 to 1.25, going back 3 years to the time of the last major sell (January 2018).
5. Assume that recent US political changes will result in short USD.
6. Price just went above 1.20 again...so start by probing those long-term stops.
7. If 1.25 breached, then go for the gusto and target 1.30.

Observations
Ive been waiting for November EOM positions to get cleaned up today. There is apparently some start of December buying of equities, but so far it has not been following through yet.
Word out of brexit negotiations so far has told us nothing new. As for COVID-19 news, European authorities appear to be waiting for developments in the states. It still appears that U.S. vaccines will be released to selected groups in the next few weeks. Additional vaccines are in late phase three testing. So far, the news has been positive.
EZ final MFG PMIs were mixed vs the flash reports.
EURUSD is well off its Monday highs. EURGBP is weak, but off its daily lows. GBPUSD is soft.
U.S, equities have tried to rally but currently are struggling.
The AUD and CAD are weaker vs the USD.

I've read elsewhere that Scotland isn't really the monolithic entity that outsiders think it is. I'm no expert, but it seems like each county has its own interests, much like states here in the US. So when one talks about Scotland leaving UK or joining EU or whatever, it really comes down to what each of the counties want. Sturgeon doesn't have the overall influence or control that one might think she does.

scotland doesnt have its own currency and to join the eu you must first enter the "waiting room" with your own currency and central bank. it cannot expect to use sterling which is controlled by the BoE. besides if scotland was to leave union, if they could somehow find a way to get their own currency, they will be given their share of national debt. with oil revs a big factor for scotland, future revs will get ever smaller as oil becomes less relevant. fwiw getting shot of such a dwindling asset would be good for uk, but u can never mention this out loud.
