Brexit trade talks extended beyond Sunday's deadline as leaders pledge to go 'the extra mile'

Thats it guys. Thats the signal buy cable. They want a deal. They tried to be tough but failed. Boris could just turn away but he fell for Ursula's charm, so a sweet deal is in the cards.

Why Americans are optimistic?

The ignorance surrounding monetary policy in the financial journalism industry has once again hit all time highs (not unlike the NASDAQ), with Bloomberg penning a recent Businessweek article that has crowned Jerome Powell as the Fed's "most transformational chairman" since Paul Volcker.

Apparently completely unaware that Volcker's policy prescriptions involved actually needing a backbone to stand up to the public and government discomfort that accompanied undoing an inflationary crisis, Bloomberg has somehow blurred the lines between raising interest rates to 11% and printing trillions of dollars in new money in the course of just months.

Instead, the piece praises Powell as "quick to recognize the economic devastation the coronavirus pandemic could cause" and for responding early. “We crossed a lot of red lines that had not been crossed before,” the article quotes Powell as saying - as if pushing the economy closer to its eventual breaking point at record speeds is something to celebrate.

'And Joe Biden wants to rejoin this band of criminal bureaucratic bumblers?'
_________________________________________
The World Health Organization has been accused of conspiring with the Italian health ministry to remove a report revealing the country’s mismanagement at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic – the publication of which was intended to prevent future deaths.

Italy was the first European country to become engulfed by the pandemic. The report, produced by the WHO scientist Francesco Zambon and 10 colleagues across Europe, was funded by Kuwait’s government with the objective of providing information to countries yet to be hit.

Called An Unprecedented Challenge: Italy’s First Response to Covid-19, the document was published on the WHO website on 13 May before being taken down the next day, as first reported by the Guardian in August. The 102-page report said Italy’s pandemic plan had not been updated since 2006 and that, due to being unprepared, the initial response from hospitals was “improvised, chaotic and creative”.

Brexit trade talks extended beyond Sunday's deadline as leaders pledge to go 'the extra mile'

Today's Stalling**

'the British prime minister and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the EU's un-elected bureaucrat-in-chief, have agreed to one more round of talks following a "useful" phone call on Sunday, their third in eight days.
The two leaders reportedly agreed that it's worth "going the extra mile" despite the fact that little, if any, progress has been made on the three main stumbling blocks to a deal.'

LONDON — European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Sunday that Brexit trade talks with the U.K. will be extended beyond Sunday's deadline, adding that "we think it is responsible at this point to go the extra mile."

Acting Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly says Australia’s success against coronavirus means, unlike other countries, we can wait for full vaccine approvals.

“We don’t need any vaccine this year,” Kelly told reporters in Canberra on Saturday.
“Other countries are in far different state than us and they should be prioritised.”

Australia will wait for the Therapeutic Goods Administration—the national drug regulator—to run through its own approvals of the Pfizer vaccine with the expectation it will be distributed in early 2021.

He highlighted the nation’s success at controlling virus transmission.
“Today is eighth day in a row we’ve not had any community transmission,” Kelly said.
“That’s the first time we’ve been able to say that since February.”
