we can yak-yak blah-blah-blah trillions, facts are simple, GBP/USD failed to take over last week's high.

End-of-year trading patterns

I created this exclusive video sent to Amazing Trader subscribers to give an idea what you might expect for typical end of year trading. The Brexit end game may complicate matters but there is a pattern for the end of the year that those still trading or are just curious should take a view.

my point, markets are extremely moving 25 day sessions per year, that leaves around 210 trading days to make money in "boring" manner.

well MM, if you think 1.30-1.45 range then it will be better to buy at 1.35 for 1.45 with stop below 1.30 than to sell at 1.35 with stop above 1.45 for 1.30

Israel MacroMicro 11:35 GMT December 24, 2020

I agree with viies that real money will enter the game to sell GBP for fundamental reasons as: GBP negative rates, UK debt, pressure on bonds yield, etc etc etc etc

imo

Israel MacroMicro 11:33 GMT December 24, 2020

I think that reality sellers will be active above 1.40 but under 1.45

that makes 1.30-1.45 the range until Q3/2021 - until 30/JUN/2021

imo

personally I believe sterling is doomed for many months. from january 1-st they start to sell sterling agianst everything. as turkish lira this year. sterling is only proxy to help british economy back on foot. this sterling strenght prevail only until this year is over. because specs do not want to bet anymore and corporates influence markets next week.

sterling can not wait announcment.
for unknown reasons UK traders want to see the terms they agreed with EU.
so most likely they are going to be dissapointed at first look.
eurgbp higher after their reaction.
I guess then next week when euroland back on working mode some sterling buying may come back to the market as worst outcome avoided and no need for so desperate hedges anymore.
